Baobab Beach Lodge and Backpackers

Es un lugar con mucho encanto y mucho potencial. No obstante, sólo tienen cuidado el restaurante y su zona común. El resto, estaba muy descuidado y en malas condiciones. La habitación era muy simple y estaba muy descuidada. La cocina, estaba muy sucia siempre y la tenían abandonada, siendo muy desagradable cocinar en ella.

Not sure why this place has such positive reviews. The dorms and the shared kitchen were pretty gross. -Gecko poop on the dorm beds -The shared kitchen was disgusting. I opened the fridge, which wasn’t even plugged in, and gagged. Rat poop in the cupboards. -The property is not well-lit/very dim -can’t sit up in the bottom dorm bunks -no hot water in the showers for 2 days -there’s 8 people working near the bar at any time but only 1 of them can answer questions -overcharged me for foo...

I was alone in a 4 bed dorm. The manager said to give her my key when I went out because they did not have a spare. I locked my purse in my kitchen locker when I left & gave them the room key. I locked my room to go take a shower and someone stole all my money (more than $100) and left a 500mt note(about $7.80). The morning I left I locked my door again to shower & they came back & took that last bill. I emailed the manager about it but got no reply. An employee must have had a spare key.

En revanche les douches communes sont en très mauvais état (porte cassée, pas d’eau à plusieurs reprises dans la journée, eau chaude aléatoire, pas de lumière etc…) Il faut marcher dans le sable entre les douches et les huttes donc difficile de garder la chambre propre. PS : Le restaurant chez Zita juste à côté est meilleur et moins cher que celui de l’hôtel !

Great beachfront location and it’s only about 15-20 minutes by foot to the center of town. The staff here are the nicest people I’ve met during my travels. Very friendly and helpful, made me feel so welcome from day 1. Have to say though that the shared facilities have not been well maintained and are in serious need of fixing. Lots of broken toilets and showers, shower areas get flooded, in the dorm room mosquito nets have huge holes… may be better staying elsewhere if you could afford to...

Das Hostel ist direkt am Strand gelegen was sehr schön ist. Es ist sehr Teuer für das was man bekommt über 35€ für ein Rundhütte mit geteiltem Dusche/WC. Liegt sehr abschüssig von der Rezeption und leider muss ich dazu sagen das bei mir trotz abgeschlossener Tür Geld geklaut wurde. Die Managerin hat darauf super und sehr professionell reagiert und hat mir weiter geholfen. Sie hat dafür gesorgt das der weitere Aufenthalt dafür gut war. Struttura ben posizionata, praticamente sulla spiaggia. Purtroppo la camera con bagno in comune ha spazi strettissimi, poca possibilità di appoggiare cose e non molto pulita. I bagni in comune sono vecchi e deteriorati, la doccia non sempre è calda e il getto è scarso. Inoltre alle 8 del mattino ci sono operai che fanno lavori nella struttura. Con maggiore cura dei dettagli, la struttura potrebbe essere migliore. Anziché costruire nuovi bungalow, forse sarebbe meglio migliorare i già esiste...

It's a nice place.generally and the staff are great. But I would add some.more light specially at the entramces to the bangalos. When telling people.you have a safety box, tell them the the service is not 24 hours. I had to lrave at 4:30,am.to get my bus to Maputo and the securoty guard asked me for a clearance pass. Say what?! Whay didn't your manager tell me about that when I checked in. Toilets shower nead a bit of a push. A normal locl from the inside for instance. It's far from the c...

Rebecca est très gentille et toujours prête à aider. Le personnel est adorable et le lieux est splendide, devant une belle plage d'où partent des bateaux pour faire des excursions sur les iles. Attention à nettoyer mieux la piscine, elle ne donnait pas envie de se baigner. ( eau trouble et sable au fond)

Lovely hostel in vilanculos. The staff were brilliant, very helpful and friendly. Nice area to chill with very good food!

Baobab is situated right on the beach and makes you feel like you're in paradise. The staff is super helpful no matter which issue. The kitchen is not well equipped with plates but offers lots of space for cooking. Had a good time and appreciated the hard mattresses!

I found the place because a review at another lodge, said they had wished they stayed here. Absolutely the best. Close to the city center, great communal places, gorgeous rooms and cooking facilities. Did I mention the beach is at your feet and waking up for sunrises is as easy as opening your eyes.

I recommend going here, I didn’t want to leave this place and stayed for some weeks. The view is amazing and there are a lot of nice spots to sit and to relax. I enjoyed going for swims, relaxing and meeting other people. They have a really spacious and good kitchen to use. They also have a restaurant and bar. The staff is really nice and helpful.

A localização é fantástica e todo o espaço é muito agradável. As instalações estão bem cuidadas. A comida tem óptimo aspecto e grande qualidade. O staff é simpático e muito disponível para ajudar.

We went though a severe tropical storm. Staff was very kind, friendly, available and helpful. We stayed four nights. We totally recomend Baobad. Rebecca, the host, is very kind and available. Food is very tasteful. Congrats to the chef. Have options and all are very good. Prices were very reasonable and the environment is very friendly.
