Well, so much potential going to waste. If you're a backpacker looking for cheap options on low expectations you can stop reading as this might be adequate. If you're planning a real vacation, please continue. The food is low level but really really expensive. Of course you won't have anywhere else to go. Maintenance is poor. For example there is rust with open holes on the outside metallic ceilings (perfect for when it rains). It seems the "mango bombs" falling from the tree on the room ceilings is a joke, except to the poor guests paying the premium price for a room (not the hostel price). Those will be waking up everytime one hits the plastic bathroom ceiling, wich tends to happen through out day and night, intermittently. I understand no one would want to cut the branches over the room. I wouldn't myself but there are other ways of insulating the noise. All it takes is a little imagination, basic materials, a ladder and a will to provide the guests with minimum service standards. There is a lot of humour. There is one envelope on the rooms asking for cleaning tips but no one will actually come to clean it up until you leave. If you think none of this is enough there is a bed bug infestation going on. Of course this is debatable to a certain degree but these bugs tend to leave specific bite marks wich we saw on other guests as well as us. Additionaly, only we know how we sleep and wich parts were in contact with the mattress. We told to one employee they should fix this by cleaning the mattresses and exposing them to direct sunlight but we were told this hotel was not the Hilton. Tells everything one needs to know about how things are handled in this hotel. The surroundings are beautiful but a poor experience really brings everything down. Bad vibe. On a good note, Ulyse is a great guy and a good guide. Hats off to him. By the way my name is Marcos and I was there between the 11th and the 14th before management says the review is fake.
