Way Shack Hostel Oslob Cebu

Only stay at this hostel if you are going to swim with the Whale Shark the next day because you are literally 3 minutes away by foot. So the location is good but no social vibe at all. Overall it is good for just one night maximum but the staff are great, super friendly and one of them helped us book the Pangla Ferry boat. Thank you guys!

Good budget choice! Owners are very friendly and helped us book a visit to the waterfall. Very close to the whale shark watching if you are going to it. Easy to get to town on the bus for ₽20. The terrace was being renovated so there was no communal space. Make sure to book the dorm with aircon, we didn’t realise there was a difference in dorms! Boiling water available to make instant noodles or coffee if you bring some.

It’s really good. Right across the street from the whale shark tours. But honestly there’s not much to Oslob. Great price and Aurora the girl how owns the bar was great to talk to.

Pretty dissapointing stay. The location was nice and so were the staff. The room was blazing hot with no airconditioning. The water pressurer was making noise all night, making it hard to sleep. There was construction work from 6 in the morning and during the day.

The couple who owns the hostel were very helpful with anything we needed. Thank you!

The location is perfect as it's right across the street from Oslob Whale Sharking watching. The manager, Kent, and his wife are very kind and welcoming. He can simplify and save you time in the process to obtain your whale sharking swimming tickets, so definitely ask him about it. He can also help you arrange other tours and provide transportation. I recommend Tumalog Falls and a day trip to Sumilon Island. The hostel is clean, has cold AC, and hot showers.

Nice room, not a lot of person so it’s quiet and next to everything at the same time. The AV wasn’t working enough so sweating all night. And the beds are not so strong. Almost felt from it

We stayed one night in a private room.. I woke up with bites in random locations over my body.. it's not bed bugs, as the sheets seemed very clean and nice. There was an awful smell of sewage coming from our bathroom, which we worked out was the basin waste, so we bunged the trap with tissue. The location for the whale sharks was perfect, and the guy behind the desk was super helpful. I am not sure if the bites were just bad luck or not. I didn't want to unfairly score too low, just to be fair.

the staff was really kind and helpful about excursions in the area. Some restaurants are in walking distance. Perfect place to stay for whale sharks. bring your own toilet paper or tabo.

호스트들은 매우 친절합니다. 그런데 침대와 배게, 에어컨에 곰팡이가 가득합니다. 겉에 커버로 막아서 안보일뿐ㅜ 공기가 안좋아서 감기에 걸렸습니다ㅜ

Goed hostel om 1 nacht te verblijven om de whale sharks te zien. Verder is het hostel totaal niet sociaal en het dak terras is kapot en niet toegankelijk. Bedden kraken maar douche is goed. Weinig eetgelegenheden in de buurt. Conclusie, het is prima voor 1 nacht.

L’hostel est très bien placé et très bien entretenu. Le personnel est très gentil et aidant. Mais il y a rien à faire dans la ville, on s’ennuie donc assez vite. Je ne recommande pas de rester plus que 2 nuits.

The staff member Kent was extremely helpful with everything we needed and made sure we were taken care of. We arrived late at night and both the atms in town were not working an he gave me a ride to another atm, he was extremely friendly and went above and beyond and even helped us in the morning at the whale shark watching :)

Location wasn’t ideal as needed taxis or hikes to get anywhere, minimal shops and no good restaurants nearby. Hostel was very quiet and would not stay in this area unless specifically seeing whale sharks which we didn’t do. Staff were helpful and helped us with ferries and taxis. Good wifi No curtains on beds and bunks were very close together so minimal privacy

Ken was amazing - really helpful and drove me to the waterfalls on his bike. The hostel was nice and clean but could really do with a common room to meet other travellers. Perfect location for the whale shark 🦈

If your there for whale sharks or just to sleep it’s fine but it a bit run down. Staff a super friendly and helpful, it just need a little love
