- I was extremely disappointed with the manager’s attitude and behaviour. The way we were treated was unprofessional and disrespectful, which created a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience during our stay. I wouldn’t recommend staying in this place to anyone

- A falta de cuidado dos funcionários. Reservei à noite, para dormir algumas horas pela manhã, antes de sair para os passeios. A atendente colocou todo tipo de dificuldade. Hospitalidade não é sobre te receber por um dia inteiro somente. Hospitalidade, principalmente em hostels, que são opções mais baratas, também é sobre proporcionar ao hóspede poucas horas de descanso caso essa seja a necessidade dele. Não recomendo!
Enttäuschend! Es wird in allen öffentlichen Bereichen und vor dem Eingang geraucht. Der Gestank zieht bis in die Zimmer! Die Leitern der Hochbetten sind total schmal, schmerzhaft und gefährlich. Die Duschen sind leider nicht sehr sauber (Haare überall und die Duschmatte hat schon lange keine Waschmaschine mehr gesehen) - die Amaturen teils sehr wackelig. Außerdem gibt es keine Ruhezeiten und bei meinem Aufenthalt war jeden Abend lautes Beisammensein bis um Mitternacht.

Je me suis fait piquée plusieurs fois dans la nuit et quand j'ai regardé le matelas au flash j'ai vu une punaise de lit... je l'ai signalée au personnel, qui m'a dit que c'était sans doute moi qui l'avait ramenée du bus. J'ai été piquée à plusieurs endroits du corps, a plusieurs moments dans la nuit, je doute qu'une seule punaise puisse être responsable... Au cas où, ne laissez pas vos sacs a coté du lit et dormez avec des vêtements facilement lavables à haute température. A part ...

+ Rodrigo took care to make trip suggestions. Good kitchen and wifi, rooms were clean and quiet. Sociable space. The cleaning and food are approached in a very hands on way by the hostel: your bed is made every day and if you're not vegan or gluten free the breakfast options are very good. If you like this, I think this is a good place to stay.
- Rodrigo took offense when I asked to not be considered for breakfast when pushed for a decision. There is hardly any vegan food anyway (not even the bread, only fruit salad), but he insisted that the hostel needs to know my choice about takeout vs eating in for planning purposes, and saying I don't need packed lunch wasn't good enough. The next day he demanded instant payment for a trip in an unfriendly way that referenced the breakfast conversation - I felt unwelcome and rudely treated, which was quite stressful for me as a guest in this space. The tour he sold me was also quite pricey for what it was (CLP 130,000 for a day hike that I could have organized myself, car only costs 75 usd), although this seems to be a general thing in this area Edit: After this review he wrote me a rude message with factually incorrect counter-accusations. Hostal Campo is the best. Rodrigo is the best, super friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help. Breakfasts in the morning are fantastic, and they can help to organize any tours you might need or offer suggestions. Showers are nice and warm, bathrooms are clean, shelves in the room are super convenient. And Pedro helps make sure there’s always a positive and fun atmosphere. I definitely recommend Campo Base
Hostal Campo Base was the perfect base camp for me in San Pedro. Rodrigo is an excellent host that makes you feel at home! From helping arranging transfers to making sure you are okay due to the altitude. They also provide a delicious freshly cooked breakfast (included) to energize you for all your desert activities, one of the best I’ve had at a hostel! Muchísimas gracias Rodrigo 🙌🏽
Rodrigo et son staff son adorables. La qualité des chambres et la propreté des lieux communs sont impeccables. Je recommande à 100% cet hostel. A seulement 10 minutes à pied du centre. Très bon emplacement pour se reposer loin du bruit 😁.

Best hostel in San Pedro! Rodrigo is the best – a funny and lovely guy who made everything possible for me and gave great tips for places around town. The hostel is very clean and comfortable, and with his open and welcoming personality you feel right at home. All in all, it has a very friendly atmosphere, it’s easy to meet other travelers, and everything in town is within walking distance. A very good breakfast is included too. If I ever return to San Pedro, I know where to stay!

+ Me gusto que me prepararan el desayuno para el dia siguiente los días que contaba con excursión, ya que en su mayoría parten temprano y esto me ayudó bastante a no tener que pensar en gastar en comida todos los días. + Tolles Frühstück, der Eigentümer ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit beim Buchen von Touren. Wenn man nicht am Frühstück ist, wird ein Lunchpaket vorbereitet. Sauber. Schliessfächer. Gute Lage. Küche ist gut ausgestattet.
- Die Zimmertüren sind ziemlich laut und man wird jedes Mal wach, wenn jemand rein oder rausgeht.
+ Hostel helps you organize tours for around same prices as if you went to agencies. Since tours start early and you are likely to miss breakfast they prepare you lunchbag instead, which is super-cool. Generally cool place and dude running it is super-friendly.
Eines der besten Hostels in Chile! Der Eigentümer Rodrigo ist super nett und kümmert sich um alles was man braucht. Das Hostel ist sehr schön und nicht weit vom Zentrum gelegen. Am meisten gefallen hat mit das Frühstück, es gibt sogar Pancakes und frisches Obst!

+ Hostel tres bien place, proche du centre. Petit déjeuner exceptionnel. Dortoir de 6 très correct, prise disponible à côté du lit, petite lampe de chevet. Propriétaire et co-gérant tres sympa.
- Le prix est peut être un peu au dessus du marché à San Pedro. Espace commun corrects sans plus. Lit superposé peu pratique au niveau de l’échelle pour le lit du haut.

100% recommend this hostel for San Pedro! Rodrigo was so so lovely&helpful, breakfast was great, it was clean, close to the centre, and good chill out spaces :)
+ Achei um lugar organizado, tranquilo, boa localização, Internet de qualidade, funcionários sempre presentes para qualquer dúvida e muito queridos, café da manhã completo, quando nâo podia estar presente para o café da manhã devido ao horário dos passeios, sempre havia um snack gostoso para levar. Cozinha limpa e organizada. Quando chegava dos passeios sempre tinha banheiro disponível para banho, aliás banheiros limpos e banho gostoso. Excelente experiência, recomendo muito.
