Mobay Kotch

This place is terrible. They let anyone stay there. Locals, people from the street, anyone! You'll go to bed in a 6 person dorm, with 3 empty beds and then when you wake up in the morning, the beds are filled with locals I guess who needed somewhere to sleep. The kitchen is disgusting. Theres rats and cockroaches everywhere and the food in the fridge has bugs crawling on it. The owner wakes up everyday and sits in her pajamas and talks with everyone. I feel rather than sitting in pajamas, maybe ...

One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed in. There was no soap in the bathrooms, curtains were torn in the room so you were woken up at dawn. You could hear everything, as there were gaps on the ceilings for airflow. It’s located in a dangerous area so I didn’t feel safe.

I indicated a late arrival at midnight. After ringing the bell about 30 times (no exaggeration), an extremely unfriendly, drunk man opened the door — shirtless. On top of that, we were given the wrong room category (which he clearly didn’t care about), and there was only one functioning shower on the entire floor. Next time, I’d rather pay more!!!

Disappointing! We only wanted to leave. Cold showers! No hot water. The energy is very strange, nobody talking, the staff were a little intrusive and sometimes don’t give enough space to guests, listening in on personal conversations and not leaving. Some refurbishment really would be beneficial at the front and side of the building. Guests look bored with nothing to do, in silence and the hostel doesn’t have anyone cool and with good energy to connect people. We didn’t enjoy our stay.

place pretty and staff is kind. but: they are selling beer but not water, everytime we went out there was someone outside of the gate asking us money, the area doesn't feel safe. place is generally clean but the kitchen isn't. the lockers doesn't looks secure at all, even after using a locker. there is not ac in the room (when is very hot it's a challenge i think) but fans on the roof. no towel provided. in the end, i found thia hostel WAY to expensive for what is offering. very very expensive

It was a really great experience, love the welcoming vibe and open atmosphere. Plus it's walking distance from amazing beaches and all the things you'd need. Btw, shout out to pickapepper & jerky :D

I cannot rave about this place enough! The location is amazing, people were kind and friendly, and pets they have on the property are too cute. I plan on staying here every time I come back to mobay.

The place is very nice, i found the bed to be a little uncomfortable but it could be just my mattress, it didn’t affect my experience tho. the common area gives awesome vibes and you can hang out with other ppl there. they sell red stripes at the propriety for like $2 i think and they have a dog and a cat that you will love

Good enough hostel for a cheap price in mobay. Good facilities. Really attracts different people all ages, which doesn’t help in creating a social atmosphere. Surrounding neighborhood is a bit rough but safe enough to stay

Absolutely the best hostel I have stayed in! The community and family feel from staff was so safe. Location in center of city, very close walk to supermarkets, ATM, bus station, and beaches was very convenient. As a solo female traveler, hostels can be a bit nervous, but I was comfortable and I will definitely be staying again!

Such a fun place with great staff! This place made my trip to Montego Bay 1000x better!

Great vibes at this hostel, we were able to meet lots of other travellers. Great value, excellent staff who really make you feel welcome and give you plenty of tips and tricks to travel mo'bay and the rest of Jamaica.

I've been traveling since 16 years now, but Mobay Kotch might've been the most beautiful hostel I ever stayed in. Highly recommend!

Great hostel with really friendly staff. Vanessa was super helpful in planning the next parts of our trip including how to take the public bus to Negril. She also gave great food recommendations and is incredibly knowledgeable about Jamaica, Montego Bay, and much more! The private room was spacious, bathrooms were well maintained. They’re also hosting a lot of relief teams at the moment which is also cool.

Very nice place ! Feel very secure as a woman, the people are wonderful! A lot of equipment un the kitchen, good Wi-Fi, it’s can be very bright early in the morning some à sleeping mask can be useful! I will come back for sure !

Gosh I love this place so much. The employees are awesome & the guests are so friendly. The cat & dog are the cutest things Ive ever seen too.

La casa es hermosa, pero el personal de limpieza con muy mal trato y poco útil si le preguntabas algo, la chica de recepción te dice todo como en automático y no espera siquiera a que le digas si entendiste o no.

loved the atmosphere and the people here. Its a great place to really connect with other travellers and the staff was super friendly aand helpful.
