Booked but arrived and they said they were closed
I'm sure this hostel is great... When it's open. I made a reservation for 4/13/2025 and when I arrived early that morning I was informed that the hostel is closed for maintenance. If you plan on staying here any time soon I would check that it's re opened.
The mattress was warped and lumpy and the dorm room was extremely hot, with no fan. There was only one common toilet/shower for the whole hostel. They have a bit of a mosquito problem. They also have a locking up the hostel two hours before last check in and not replying to my texts or calls so I had to sleep in the street problem.

My experience at Pointbreak Surf Camp was absolutely amazing! 🌊 From the very first moment, I felt welcomed like a friend, not just a guest. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and you instantly feel at home. Cozy and welcoming hostel in huanchaco, in front of the ocean. Clean, kitchen well-equipped, possibility to rent and get serf lessons. Definitely recommended!

Solid hostel on Huanchaco. Staff was super chill and overall was a good spot to hang out for a few days on our way up the coast. It’s a surfer vibe and nothing fancy but the WiFi was great and there’s hot showers.
The place is cool and the personal always want to help you. You have the surf spot just in front of the hostel, you can rent directly with them! I recommend! 🤙

Great spot, right by the main surf break. Awesome, chilled out, surfer vibe with plenty of space to hang out, meet people and relax.
The staff were super friendly! Upgraded our room after we got food poisoning without hesitation. It did feel a bit cliquey when we arrived but no biggie. Loved the open outdoor area. Only complaint is that one night someone was knocking LOUDLY on a bunch of the hostel dorms around 3am which made us feel a bit scared and uneasy. Never really heard what it was about…
Top hostel with friendly stuff!
Wow!! We absolutely loved this place! We came back to stay an extra couple of days because we loved it that much! Audrey and Joan were so welcoming and very helpful with tips on where to go out for food. It was a great vibe the whole time!
