well, we got robbed 240$ by the cleaning staff which went into our private room without letting us know.. sadly, when we brought it up with the owner, he said he trusted his staff and didn't believe us, and since there's no camera in front our room, and the cleaning lady conviniently took two days off just after, there was nothing we could do, and that the owner wanted to do. as a Business manager, I believe you gotta take responsibility of you staff, even if it's a hard thing to do...
Reservé, como siempre, sólo la primera noche para poder decidir si quedarme o no, en base a lo que encuentre. De hecho, dormí mal, porque muy temprano en la mañana el teléfono del albergue comenzó a sonar repetidamente. Era como si estuviera sonando directamente en la habitación. Ademas, el personal del albergue es muy frío y todo está estructurado de tal manera que hay pocas oportunidades de conocer a los demás huéspedes. One of the worst hostels in Oaxaca and maybe in Mexico. To start with the entrance, where the hostel owner parks his SUV in a way that it almost blocks the access. If you get with bigger bags it's really uncomfortable to get in and out. The feeling is that strangely you got into someone's house. Then, the atmosphere - very weird. there is some elevator music playing the whole time, there is a fountain as well... feels more like in a low quality spa than like a hostel. People lower voices.
We booked this place because it was affordable with great reviews, but the high ratings surprised us. Our private room was basic with some maintenance issues and big insects at night on the floor. The terrace also seemed just like a roof with nowhere to sit. On the plus side, it was cheap, quiet, had good Wi-Fi and a hot shower, but we wouldn’t stay longer than a night. Overall good for budget travellers if you're just looking for a space to sleep, not to socialise and spend time at.
pricey for what it is. no wifi in the rooms. hot water runs out after 3 minutes of showering. very nice and attentive staff, nice courtyard, clean kitchen, free coffee & water. clean and comfortable rooms.
Location close to center. Everything walking distance. Room only window / door towards courtyard. Floor and bathroom were not cleaned before check in.
I mean, I guess it has everything you’d need in a hostel: beds, hot showers, some common areas and a (not so Well-equipped) kitchen. Everything is just the bare minimum and very basic - by NO means luxurious or, considering the Price, even just Nice at all. Also, there’s absolutely no social atmosphere. The clientele was a very wierd mixture of Young and (actually) elderly people, but maybe that was just when we stayed there… also, theres only like 2 power sockets for an 8p dorm
The main issue with this hostel is that all the rooms are at 1 level around a courtyard immediately as you come in, all with very thin glass and metal doors. you can hear someone cough across the hostel! felt like our private room wasnt really that private. the roof terrace was nice but closed at 7pm. the showers were just OK. kitchen we didnt use but looked pretty well stocked. also our room had no windows?? just a roof light. location was great though
Stayed for one night - it was fine. That’s all there is to say; it does the job but I wouldn’t have stayed for a further night.
Hostel bien situé mais déçue de l'accueil qui était froid et peu aidant. Ma chambre n'a pas été nettoyée (j'ai du le demander) et aucune recharge au niveau papier toilette (le lit n'a même pas été fait). La personne qui s'occupe des check-in et check-out est venu me voir la veille de mon départ pour me réclamer le paiement (j'avais indiqué que j'allais payer au check-out).
Hostel well located but disappointed with the reception which was cold and unhelpful. my room was not cleaned (I had to ask for it) and no recharge at toilet paper level (the bed wasn't even made). the person who deals with check-in and check-out came to me the day before I left to claim payment (I had indicated that I would pay at check-out).

This place sets the standard for budget accommodation. Peaceful, clean and lush with plant life. It’s super chill so don’t come here to party, but it’s what you make it in terms of socialization— I met lots of people during my stay there. Whoever picks the music has great taste, it’s always something groovy and non-oppressive. The dorms don’t have privacy curtains, which would be a nice touch and the shower heads need a de-scale but that’s me being super picky. Highly recommend.
Super pour un séjour tranquille, petite auberge apaisante et sympatique très bien placée. Chambres spacieuses et peu chères. Nous recommandons.

Muy buen lugar en el centro de Oaxaca con un bello estanque, los cuartos son cómodos aunque idealmente se podrían mejorar con cortinas corredizas en las camas para mayor privacidad.Lo recomiendo.
Very good location in the center of Oaxaca with a beautiful pond, the rooms are comfortable although ideally they could be improved with sliding curtains in the beds for more privacy.I recommend it.

Cet hôtel est une pépite ! Les dortoirs sont spacieux, le calme est respecté par le personnel mais aussi les guests. Ce patio de végétation est très beau ! Tout est propre et le personnel est vraiment gentil et accommodant. L'hôtel est situé près du centre, en 5/10 min à pied, vous y êtes !

I like hot water and you can not always choose whom you are sharing a hostel with. So that being said, I appreciate it very much the hostel

The hostel is nice, comfortable, the staff was very friendly, it has a good location, the atmosphere is quiet, I could rest super well.
The concierge on-call. There are no social activties. Its an old building with exposed wiring. The courtyard is lovely with hammocks to relax on. It's definitely not for the party crowd. The private room that I was in had a full kitchen and bath, suitable for a family.

Really good location and affordable. The guys on staff were also nice. The center garden is very pretty. I had no issues with mosquitoes, as someone had mentioned, despite it being the rainy season. I think the pond animals took care of that, like they said. It's overall tranquil, which was perfect for what I needed. It was fine for an inexpensive place to stay, but there could be a few updates to make it a bit nicer.
