Ginger House Plovdiv

Stayed here for one night - had it booked for 2 but left early after we found many bed bugs in the room we were staying in (quadruple room with aircon). While we were refunded (only after giving proof of the bed bugs), I would not recommend staying here due to the bed bugs, lack of social atmosphere and it is not really a hostel (more of a guesthouse).

Pour un court séjour c'est un endroit correct. La chambre est propre et agréable, en revanche l'hygiène dans la cuisine n'est pas parfaitement respectée pour être honnête. Il y avait des travailleurs et peu de voyageurs donc l'ambiance pour des voyageurs n'est pas la meilleure. Les tenants sont très sympathiques !

Ich habe den Besitzer nicht kennengelernt, mir hat ein Freund von ihm auf gemach. Das Bad und die Betten waren nicht sauber. Da in der Küche geraucht wird riecht es auch im Zimmer nach Rauch. Könnte Pech mit dem timing gewesen sein aber ich habe mich leider nicht besonders wohl gefühlt.

The owner is by far the best part of the experience (lovely guy, no English though), and we had free tea&coffee available, and that’s when my compliments end. One bathroom was bug-infected, the other was flooded for both days of our stay. The hostel is tiny and though the rooms&kitchen are mildly clean, the bathrooms were horror. We shared a dorm with people (girl+2 guys) who we think lived there, who seemed upset about us sleeping there and spent the night talking loud & coming and going

Not very good. With some minor improvements, it could be acceptable. The owner is very flexible. But to be fair it was quite grim, even depressing I would say. A lot of broken things belonging to the owner (broken vacuum cleaner, mattress wrapped in plastic) clutter the room. The guy who lived there had feet that smelled so bad, the room would stink hours after he was gone. It was nauseous, and indicative also of the kind of place.

Great location and very nice staff but to be honest I wouldn’t go back there. There is only one shower for the whole place, two toilets and the place was very dirty. Given the price for the night it was fine, but this was not the best experience.

La habitación era muy pequeña para 6 personas y está un poco descuidado. El propietario es muy simpático y agradable. El desayuno eta bien y el café riquísimo.

The host is very kind and helpful, he's the best. Unfortunately the place is a bit small and dirty.

It's quite good as a basic, budget accommodation.

Great location with a big tarrace and tasty breakfast, very nice owner who is available all the time for all kind of informations. I will certainly come back here in few years... Miša

Vilen was such a wonderful host - he gave great recommendations based on my interests and how long I was in town. He also made a lovely breakfast! The others staying in the hostel were chill and friendly, we ended up spending some time together in Plovdiv. Would definitely recommend if you'd like to be just outside of the centre.

Great location to main archaeological sites in Plovdiv. Loved being able to walk out of the hostel and get to the train station and bus easily! Owner was very friendly and helpful giving me a map and recommendations on arrival. Back porch was a nice spot to meet fellow travelers as well. Spot feels a bit old and could use a solid update but overall a nice spot for a few days. Rooms had solid air conditioning as well!

Very happy with this stay. Everything was great and the owner is so nice and very helpful on letting you know some places to visit nearby. I highly recommend this hostel.

Great hostel - well located, homely vibe, good shower and kitchen (although only 1 shower), nice outdoor area. Owner is very kind and good conversation.

We really enjoyed our stay there. It‘s a small cute hostel in walking distance to the city center. The host was super friendly and helpful. Also there are idividual lockers, so we had no security concerns.

Ginger Hostel was a great place to stay that is in a great location. It's less than a 10 minute walk from all the bars/pubs, oldtown, the gardens and also about 20 minute walk to the south bus station. Velin was a lovely host and even picked me up to take me to the hostel after the bus driver and later another driver dropped me off in the middle of no where. I would definitely stay here again if I came back and recommend this place to other people visiting Plovdiv.
