- Ha sido la peor experiencia en un hostal en todo lo que he viajado, me han cambiado en menos de un día 3 veces de habitación y me ROMPIERON mi candado y me entregaron mis cosas en una bolsa porque esa habitación la tenían reservada para un grupo. El personal de la recepción lo más antipatico, te ayudan más y responden mejor los de la limpieza que en la recepción

Additionally they will never let you check in before 15 even if you request politely and even if they will have a room. Not sure if same with every guest or they are just racist to some people. At 14.55, I requested to check in as I was there already 30mins in advance and the reception guy replied with ‘you can only get a room after 15.00,

- There was a guy coughing and spiting from 10pm through the entire night was uncorfortable didnt get much sleep,was he sick can he get us sick I wasnt the only one staying at 209 went to reception to talk about the issue around 7:30am and all I wanted was to somebody to check on that guy just to make sure he wasnt sick because that was my only concern staying in the same room with him they offered me to switch room but I was cheking out on that morning but my concern was only on that person been sick not only for my own safety and health but other travelers and reception did not do anything about it

Beautiful building, fun atmosphere, everything was as described. Wish I could have stayed longer and participated in more activities. What a great way to meet people and travel on a budget!
For New York 70-80€/night for a 4-bed female dorm seems cheap but it’s truly not worth it. Bathrooms aren’t in the room which is inconvenient and not what you’d except at this price. There was constant noise (like banging) probably due to poor insulation. I get that NYC is expensive and options are limited but in any other city it would not be good value. There should be more hostels to increase competition and improve prices and quality.
Awesome place, especially for a solo traveler! Lots of amenities and in a great location, only a block away from the subway. Highly recommend, would stay here again. My only complaint is that they have gender neutral bathrooms, but they are not single occupancy. As a trans person, the fact that they're not single occupancy makes me more nervous of an altercation happening than in the men's bathroom. Other than that, awesome place.
El alojamiento muy bueno, cocina amplia y súper bien equipada, el barrio es tranquilo y seguro, está cerca de dos lineas de metro y en cuanto al personal de recepción, amables y siempre disponible. The accommodation is very good, the kitchen is spacious and super well equipped, the neighborhood is quiet and safe, it is close to two metro lines and as for the reception staff, friendly and always available. now, I think the weak point are the guests: they accepted large groups of teenage girls on excursions (they were somewhat annoying and invasive, occupying hallways and screaming) and in my room (only women) two girls smelled horrible, left garbage and did not open the windows. but facilit...

Does the job if you just need a place to sleep, and the beds were good. Not much of a social atmosphere though. There are some very strange characters staying here making the place feel quite unsafe at times, on top of this the hostel is located in the middle of a housing project near the Harlem border so i wouldt go outside alone after dark. My room was quiet and felt safe, and staff were friendly and its close to the subway.

I stayed 1 night so can’t say much but these are my experiences: 👍🏼 *Front desk was nice ✔️me in early had the room prepped after 10 minutes of my arrival so I didn’t have to wait 1.5 hours to check in 🤷🏻♂️ *Lounge bathroom smells horrible but my room/bathroom was spot on so maybe they just missed the lounge * The bartender said the free drink doesn’t include tea even though the front desk told me so. I would still say for New York this hostel works well location wise and while it’s not cheap it is cheaper than other places. It’s a big place so sometimes it’s filled with large groups of high schoolers taking away the hostel vibe. Feels more like a high school dorm sometimes
Staff was kind during check in + help with bags. Only it was way too hut during the night in the rooms. The facilitied were crowded and I would install more showers. But location is amazing and they have many activities in which people can participate to get to know others.
It is always a bit of a gamble with these big hostels. The hostel itself is nice: friendly staff, spacious outdoor section, sweet location by Central Park. But these positives easily get tainted when the hostel is taken over by hundreds of French high schoolers who run around the corridors way past the quiet hours like it is their own kindergarten. No staff was seen handling the issue. It should not be for the guests to enforce the night-time peace. A solid 8/10 hostel without this :)
