The Wanderers Hostel

The bus driver that took us back to wanderers from Theth was appalling. We were told that the trip would cost 10€ by Wanderers, but once we loaded our bags and got on the bus, he told us the trip would be 15€ in an intimidating manner. He drove terribly, and kept stopping on the way for no reason at all. Wanderers needs to address this, as we spoke to multiple people that caught this bus on different days, and they all had the same experience. For such a reputable hostel, we expected better.

The hostel is located in a nice area, and there are many travellers, which is good. However, some of the staff members were quite rude to us, the bikes they let are quite bad, and 7 of 15 of us got food poisoning. There are not many showers/toilets, and above all they are not clean at all.

We were in a private room on a Friday night and it was so loud we really struggled to rest. We are used to loud hostels but this was something else.

The hostel was in a good location and clean. Staff were helpful in recommendations around Shkoder however instructions could have been clearer and staff could have been more friendly at times. Would not recommend for those passing through but good if your looking to hike/bike.

Lively hostel with nice garden area. Staff is awesome. Location is central, but the dorms windows are to a rather noisy busy street at night. Free breakfast and various dinner events are amazing! Good place before heading to the mountains!

If you want to do the hike in Teth, it's the place to go ! They can organise everything for you and they're really helpful.

Well run, logistically. The baggage storage doesn't seem super secure, but there are always staff close by and they offer to hold valuables if need be. The dorms in the main building overlook the street and the loud music doesn't stop until midnight. Beds and bathrooms were clean, and there are personal curtains, lamps, outlets, and luggage lockers for each bunk. The common area has typical hostel grime, with lots of flies. Breakfast is ok, and the free dinner was great. Free coffee and tea.

The Wanderers Hostel is the best place to stay if you want to be social and also do the Valbona Pass hike as they organize everything for you. The bathroom situation is not very good. There is 1 bathroom in the main area never had any toilet paper or paper towel, so it got very messy very quickly. Also, in the dorm area, there are only 2 bathrooms per floor, so there was always a queue. Aircon didn't work in my room so it was very hot at night.

the staff were lovely and really helpful, they helped everyone organise all kinds of things and they were very kind and friendly! unfortunately I couldn’t really sleep well because the cleaning ladies started yelling in the corridor at like 8am and also came to the room to change the beds at 9am before I had checked out which I found quite disturbing. the vibe also feels kinda forced with the free shots and all and I felt low-key forced to drink to fit in. cool place but a bit overhyped maybe ...

Amazing place to stay in Shkoder. You’ll meet the best people here! They are so organized and helpful when planning any and all trips. Amazing breakfast and dinner every night! Highly recommend

Very nice and helpful people, we booked the Valbona trail with them and it was super straightforward, and the place was very safe and fun

Amazing hostel. Really helpful with organising tours. Great place socially, free breakfast and dinner is a huge bonus. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

This was the best hostel I have ever stayed in! Organized my valbona to theth for me, was so clean, and had free meals that was so tasty. Would 100% stay here again!

My favorite hostel. Extremely social, there’s a great bar and stunning indoor/outdoor garden and patio that’s just the perfect way to meet people and hang out. They do a fantastic job helping organize hiking trips into the Albanian alps - just go, they’ll help form groups and organize everything easily. Coolest guests and staff and the perfect mix of socializing and adventure. One of the best parts of my trip through the Balkans.

I totally recommend staying in this hostel! The Team is great and can organize a lot of trips for you, the rooms were nice and the breakfast & dinner was the best

Geweldig hostel. De sfeer is top. Iedereen die er werkt is super aardig en sociaal. Gigi en Josef zijn mijn favoriete barmannen ooit. Over het algemeen, als je op zoek bent naar een hostel met sociale activiteiten en goed eten, maar niet de druk wil voelen om met iets mee te doen, kom hierheen!

Such great vibes here! Awesome location, the staff are great and create a super welcoming and social vibe for travellers, making it nice and easy to meet people. Super helpful in organising day trips for you, really recommend it! Facilities are great too.

Ein sehr schönes Hostel. Wir haben hier eine Nacht geschlafen, bevor es in die albanischen Alpen zum Wandern ging. Im Hostel wurde uns geholfen dafür den Transport zu organisieren und sie hatten generell viele gute Tipps! Frühstück und Abendessen war inklusive und unser großes Gepäckstück konnten wir auch kostenlos im Hostel lassen während wir wandern waren.

Very good atmosphere! The included dinner was well worth the extra money compared to other hostels in the area. Very social naturally and the karaoke night was legendary! The sleeping quarters were across the street of the common area so if you wanted to go to sleep early it was no problem. The common area was basically outside and in October it was not the best, but understandable as the hostel is not open in the winter. The beds were basic, nothing special and the rooms were cleaned daily.

A very good hostel. Really social. Free breakfast and dinner! Good facilities. The staff are really helpful for arranging the hike! Definitely stay here if you are intending to do the Valbone to theth hike or any kind of hiking!

Wanderers is a top-tier hostel and, without a doubt, the best place to stay in Shkoder. Incredibly social vibe, great hostel activities (including meals every night), and the staff are great. Staying here before Valbona to Theth is a must, but even apart from that, it's a great vibe and time.

Amazing hostel. Really friendly and helpful staff. Booking the hikes with them is so easy and you stay in some really nice guesthouses. Great social atmosphere and the free dinners and free shots are a really nice touch. I ended up staying here longer than I planned to hang out with people I met. Definitely recommend if staying in Shkoder and doing the hikes up in Theth and Valbonë.
