MOM Darwin

Woken up at 6am everyday from extremely loud construction outside window as hostel doing works to their building (not public works like they say on Google reviews). Bad atmosphere mostly longterm stays. Kitchen badly equipped, washing up liquid watered down - unsanitary. Worst of all, was due to check out 7am for a tour and the hostel announced there would be no water to the entire property 5-7am. Asked staff what to do and they said use toilet at 4:50am. Outrageous, had to pay for new hotel.

Generally the place wasn’t very clean, we found the staff extremely unhelpful. They separated our booking for two people in two seperate rooms. Stayed in youth shack after and it was far superior

been travelling 18 months and the worst stay by far. Rooms were filthy and smelled dreadfully. Appreciate the clients have a responsibility but the majority of them were 'feral' with drinking more a priority. Going to the bathrooms was always an experience with vomit and worse on the floor. I accept its a party hostel and Im the wrong demographic but anyone over 30, who likes to keep themselves clean should avoid like the plague.

Quite possibly the worst and dirtiest hostel I stayed in Australia, super expensive and terrible value for money. I knew it was a party hostel but the state of the “clean” bedding on arrival I remembered was questionable.

The place is dirty and the kitchen pots are all badly scratched. The staff withdrew money from my account without authorization, and when my food was stolen several times, they refused to check the cameras. I lived at the MOM for 5 months — it’s a good place to make friends and find a job, but not the best place to live. Arrive in the low season and try to find an apartment to share with the friends you make there.

Bettwanzen und reines Party Hostel! Laute dröhnende Musik den ganzen Tag über. Kein ruhiger Platz zum hinsetzten und essen so das ich und meine Zimmernachbarn unser Essen mit aufs Zimmer nahmen. Der Küche fehlt es am nötigsten und sie ist dreckig. Zu der lauten Musik die den ganzen Tag läuft in der Küche und dem aufenhaltsbereich gibt es fast jeden Abend Partys bis spät in die Nacht und der dröhnende Bass ist im Zimmer deutlich zu hören.

Die Decke des Zimmers war vollkommen verschimmelt

extrem laut. keine vernünftigen möglichkeiten sich draußen hinzusetzen außer direkt in die partymeute. viele langzeitgäste und nicht sehr gut um leute kennenzulernen.

Terrible service. Staff bully and scold guests rather than solve the problems their terrible service creates. Inaccurate reception info pre-arrival. Very dirty. Cockroaches. Avoid if you want a safe, enjoyable time .

The new pool is a highlight especially in this heat, good events calendar throughout the weekend and the staff are so much fun! Looking forward to finishing my 88 days here

My friends stayed here in 2025 for a season and MOM lived up to my expectations. The day I arrived was a pizza party so seems very social and has lots of events. Staff were friendly and helped me book tours and help with finding a job. The new swimming pool is amazing - giving love island vibes hahah! MOMs is across the road from coles central location to all shops, restaurants, bars, waterfront. Cannot wait for the rest of dry season

Very nice place, they can help you a lot with all the informations you need. The matress in the bed are amazing 😍

MOM's is a great social place to stay, they have just renovated their pool and looks better than most resorts. They are finishing some last works before their dry season which has been held up due to the wet season but the staff were so helpful and accomodating and letting us know about the work. Bar has great specials and pricing better than most places in aus and unreal buzz on the night we were staying with djs and events on. Dorm room i stayed in had curtains on the bunks were a win.

Stayed in MOMs previously and have to say this stay was by far the best. The new pools and bar provided an amazing vibe. The bathrooms were immaculate. The kitchen had so many pots, pans and utensils which made meal prep much easier. Managed to grab myself a bottom bunk and delighted to have a privacy curtin. Brownie points for having a cafe onsite. Big shout out to all the staff who were so accommodating and friendly during my stay 😇 see you all again soon for your base pre party🥳

For such a lively hostel facilities were very clean. Amazing swimming pool and bar area. Very social with DJs, free bbq and beer pong games. Can get toasties and pastries from the cafe on ground floor 24 hours a day! Located in city centre walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants!

The hostel overall it’s ok, staff super nice and friendly atmosphere and location are unmatched, unless you like peace and quiet. It’s a party hostel so be aware. I stayed in private rooms. The huge group of French staff closed the kitchen when they didn’t need to cook but when they cooked group meals all good. 2 days I couldn’t pack lunch to work for being later than 22.:00 nevertheless next day the frenchies were cooking and no problem. The hostel allows it.

Good localisation, in the main street and close to the esplanade. Amenities clean all the time. Only disadvantage, probably too noisy for me, sorry...

It’s got to be the best place if you want to party at the hostel. I think they should have a more seperate communal area from the partying though, because otherwise you are sitting and eating your food right next to everyone partying which is a bit awkward. Also this hostel does not have communal cutlery and plates/bowls which is really puzzling. You can buy a cutlery kit, but guests storing cutlery and plates in the rooms cant be good for bugs if they arent perfectly clean.

Nice place, dorms could be better but it is what it is, no plugs for top bunks. Pools nice but salty. Bars got good prices on jugs. Close to everything, great cheap thai place right across.

The location was great, but definitely a party hostel. I don’t mind a bit of background music, but even during the day it was way too loud. Staff was friendly though and the people in general were very friendly.

the keycards let you in rooms that arent yours and the sound you can only escape by leaving the property, hell

Not like a normal hostel. Centred around people working and those who drink a lot. If that’s your thing you might like it.

This place definitely is a party hostel. If that's what you're after, go for it. Otherwise stay away.

Best hostel in Darwin !! If you like partying and meeting people, you’re in the right place :)

I recommend this hostel, the rooms are spacious, I was staying in one of 4 people and it was always clean. The bathrooms and toilets are equally large and always clean. The kitchen is a little small but it is fine and the staff is very friendly, always smiling and helping.
