Mad Monkey Vang Vieng

When we first got there the room stank of sewerage, this was due to the bathroom at the end of the room which constantly stank. I chatted with other guests and this was the same for them in their room. This in turn led to me and two of my friends being ill for 3 days and ruined the rest of our time in vang vieng. The room was also cramped with limited space

Turned up with a confirmed booking, deposit paid, booking confirmation correct, the man behind the counter said they different have our booking and literally turned 5 of us away at 7pm in the evening with nowhere to stay, did nothing to try and help us, and i'm still fighting for my deposit back a week later :(

They try to scam you every time they can. They say there’s no bus at this season to go to another city and your only option is their expensive train ticket. You rent a scooter, but no one is at the reception to return it, so you wait. Then they try to charge you for the extra time you waited, even though the 24h reception is always empty. I’ve been to many Mad Monkey hostels, even volunteered, but this is the worst staff ever.

Douche,toilette propre est spacieuses. Pas de petit déjeuner gratuit,tu as pas le droit de ramener a manger ou meme a boire. Des gens bruyant dans le dortoirs qui etaient bourré jusqu’a 3h du matin,j’entendais des bruit chelou,donc surement sexe. Sinon le personnel etait gentilles, et salle commune/bar avec piscine c’etait sympa dommage que ca fermée tot.

Honestly, I don’t know if this hostel just doesn’t care or if they’ve given up, but stay away. I sent emails saying I was arriving late and if someone would be there. No answer. I sent them messages to their WhatsApp. No answer. They never responded. The activities and tours are super overpriced than booking them in town. There was a cockroach infestation too. Oh. And they have a social WhatsApp group that you can join, but only admins can send messages, and they never do. Horrible experie...

The place was nice but had an awful experience! People having sex and talking very loud at 2am in the morning! Had to check out early because of that and didn’t get the awful night we spend there refunded which I though would have been the decent thing to do. The staff was still very sorry and refund us the night we didn’t spent there, at least! Even though we knew it was a party hostel, we expected people in dorms to be more respectful!

Highly unclean dorm. They have stuck 14 beds in a very tight space and they are very unclean with people’s socks and towels just lying around the floor always. Staff is very rude as well.

Can not recomend!!!! The cleaning staff went through my stuff, took my bag and posed with it, took my teeth sticks and cotton sticks and used it, another girl in the dorm saw it and the staff admitted it. The owner did not see that it was a problem but as an apologize I could get was a free breakfast, that I waited 1 hour for…. There were ants all over in the beds so we gotta go to a doctor because of bites. I have so much more to comment on, can NOT recommend!!!!!

I needed to keep medicine in a fridge due to hot weather and the staff would not accommodate this request and would not refund me.

Apart from two people having sex in the dorm and having my towel stolen, the stay was okay. the biggest problem was I used the laundry service and they lost my sweater. I went to the reception four times and they said they would look for it. After that I really needed to leave for my next destination, so the staff asked for my contract details. I didn't hear anything, so I contacted them myself. At first I only got 'sorry it's lost', but then an unsatisfactory compensation of a free meal + beer

Only stayed for a night but was great. Comfy and large bed, good privacy curtain. Nice pool area and very social vibe.

Had a great stay at the mad monkey, the staff were great, especially Will, would come here again.

Had a wonderful time at mad monkeys!!! Great hostel, very clean, very social too!! The staff are very sound and welcoming!! Definitely lives up to its name sake too at night ahaha

Had such a great stay at Mad Monkey. The atmosphere was amazing, everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff really made the experience special. Huge shoutout to Emie, Savanna, and Maysa. They were absolutely the best!

The rooms were nice enough they were set up well just could have done with being a little bit more clean we found a load of wood lice in our room but they do no harm pool area is great it’s a little further out than many of the other hostels but not too bad

amazing vibe! the reps savanna, stephen, and emie create a fun engaging environment for everyone! the pool area next to the bar has incredible views, comfy clean beds

Emie is by far the best mad monkey host I’ve had and this is my 8th mad monkey she keeps the vibe alive and is the best

Best place to stay in vang vieng!

Location is awesome, close to whatever you need by foot. Pool and common area cool, would have been good to have a chill space for personal calls. I got a private room, expensive given other hostels close do a free beer happy hour and free brekkie, room itself was great and an AMAZING view of the backdrop. Staff were great, Emmie was amazing as was Thao at booking bikes / tours etc. if you want a party go here - they’ll defo get you swinging like a mad monkey if that’s your vibe. �...
