White Jail @ Koh Tao Hostel

+ The location and staff were the only positive.

- We were in a private room at the bottom back of the hostel and it was disgusting, the room was damp with visible mould. Our room didn’t get cleaned once, the damp made all our belongings smell and feel damp. Avoid this place at all costs.

+ Only the price

- They scammed us that it has a view and we saw properti’s pictures and rate which was good but when we checked in we faced a horrible scene. They simply said you can check out and have your refund back but where else to go? All properties were sold out in a small island. They know that we can’t find anywhere else to go and they responded very rude. It was smelling like faeces every time we had to pass from stairs to go to our room, in our room it was lights from out always on because the wall was made out of glass and behind of it we couldn’t see! I attached pictures and the lights on is at 1:00 when i could not sleep. It was a horrible experience. Strongly recommend to take some where else and don’t fall for it’s price and pictures . It’s a slum

- Qualità-prezzo terribile. Ho alloggiato in questo ostello per sei notti in una stanza con due letti a castello. I due letti erano molto vicini tra di loro, non c’erano neanche delle tendine per creare un minimo di privacy. Solo una piccola panca ai piedi del letto per appoggiare zaini ecc un po’ scomodo. Pulizia dei bagni davvero minima.

- Nous sommes arrivés vers 17h et avons été confrontés dès le départ à une coupure de courant. Résultat : douche froide et sans aucun éclairage. La chambre, située au sous-sol, dégageait une très forte odeur d’humidité et de moisi, persistante toute la nuit. Les murs et plafonds présentaient des traces visibles d’humidité. Il était impossible d’aérer, les fenêtres étant au niveau du sol extérieur, avec un risque évident d’intrusion d’animaux ou d’insectes rampants. Au réveil, nos draps et vêtements étaient humides et imprégnés de cette odeur désagréable. Nuit très inconfortable. Cette chambre ne devrait tout simplement pas être proposée à la location dans cet état. L’humidité y est malsaine et inacceptable. (Ci joint photos, ex: tableau souillé , coulure d'humidité)

+ My stuff was stolen from the property.

- Maybe one of, if not the worst hostels I've ever stayed at. If I could give less than one star I would. Had my handbag STOLEN from inside the dorms - Your stuff is NOT SAFE HERE!!!! On top of the mattress being as hard as a rock the staff apparently are also apparently thick as a rock. When I reported it so that they would know the first question was "oh is that important??" .... yes? it's my HANDBAG??? Thankfully my purse was not inside it (otherwise OBVIOUSLY I would not have left it in my storage) She did not care at all, there's a camera that faces the dorm but they did not care to check it. I was just told in a very flat voice that I should have kept it in a locker. I was going to be staying another night here but I immediately left, especially after the downright RUDE and LACK OF CARE the staff showed. I really can't believe it. I just lost something and there was no sympathy, no care not even a human attempt at a "oh I'm really sorry that's happened" they did NOT care. And I think it's very important to acknowledge when there are THIEVES IN ACTION within their property. Particularly as a solo woman traveller I do not feel any sort of sense of safety here. I will NEVER be returning and I think all future travellers should take this into consideration. I even went back to speak to them and I was told again that I should have keep my important things in the locker which is about the size of a laptop. If everything has the ability to be stolen HOW can I fit all my stuff in this tiny locker???? They need bigger lockers that have the ability to fit everything inside so that it is secure otherwise you are AT RISK!!!!! I don't even know if other things were taken yet. An absolute joke.

- Tutto…personale bugiardo e irrispettoso ti dicono che hanno macchina carta di credito rotta per farti pagare in contanti…poi ti dicono che sei tu che non capisci inglese detto in malo modo…bagno orrendo sempre sporco e per andarci devi scendere 40 gradoni…ultimo giorno acqua usciva color marrone da prendere virus e ammalarsi…hostel attaccato a un bar che fanno casinò fini alle 3 di notte e nonostante avessi l’ o camera privata e appunto pagato di più per svere un certo comfort ci hanno messo direttamente a lato del bar per 3 giorni mai dormito…ma la cosa in assoluto che dà più fastidio è la mancanza di rispetto che questo popolo ha pensando che siamo tutti stupidi e prendendoci per i fondelli facendoci credere quello che a loro va più comodo…2025 struttura di Booking che riceve centinaia di persone e che non ha macchina per pagare con carta…FATE SEMPLICEMENTE VOMITARE!!!!

+ La gente te atiende muy bien, pero ya está

- Es un horror, no se puede descansar, hay un bar pegado que tiene la música puesta muy muy alta desde las 3.pm hasta las 4am, te dan hasta tapones en los oídos, es horroroso, no vayáis no vais a poder descansar nada, buscad el bar se llama Baby Rasta, es una locura.

- The bar next door very loud until really late. During the whole day it has music so no moment of silence. Neither im the room or on the chill areas. No curtains for the bed. Not enough space to display your items and luggage

+ Gute Lage (nahe am Pier), Zimmer und Badezimmer waren sauber und groß, auf Wunsch tägliche Reinigung

- Our clothes we returned with stains from the laundry service.

+ Great location and room very comfortable.

- Nothing.

+ The room was great. I had my privacy nice area.

- The electricity was weak which make the AC weaker and Even make it don’t work some of the times and also the lights was in strong all the time. The TV add a little problem also.

+ Great location and very peaceful. The shared space was lovely and they offered free tea/ coffee and toast which was a lovely touch. The staff were lovely and always helpful. Has a great cafe with lovely staff joint onto the hostel.

- There was nothing to dislike

+ Love the pods. Nice place to stay in Koh Tao
