Unfortunately, the photos misrepresent this property and it is much more run down than it appears. The rooms were quite stuffy and damp. A fan would be very helpful. All the rooms are located adjacent to the communal area, and room windows only open on this side, which was very loud. The main staff member who helped us was great and refunded us when we decided to leave after one night. For our limited time here, we wanted a cleaner and more comfortable accomodation.

The price is too high for the quality for me. The pool was closed, I was put in a 3 bedroom dorm even though I paid for a 2 person dorm, I had to wait another hour to check in after the checkin time and there was no social atmosphere. The room was also not that nice and the staff not very helpful. I did really enjoy the stretch and meditation with John in the morning.

Overall below expectations and believe there are better value properties in Salento - Location was out of the main centre and the road was obstructed due to construction - Construction next door to the property. It wasn't an issue just something to be aware off - Bedroom design was very odd, no ventiliation and poor lighting, very cold - No english speaking staff / no the most helpful - They only take mastercard - No washing service was available as the washing machine had broken

To start on a positive note, the staff was great and very helpful. However the rest of the hostel was not as expected. The room felt unhygienic and the bed linen smelled as if someone had slept in it before. When we arrived there was no water whatsoever, we couldn't even use the bathroom. On top of that there are no windows, which made it extremely cold at night. In short, if you are the kind of traveller who doesn't need a lot of comfort and is okay with a lack of basic hygiene you will be fine

The hostel was really not what I expected. We got there and the room that they offered us was mouldy. Upon complaining they had to search for a room that didn’t have mould (which was the third one they offered to us). Also the yoga wasn’t proper yoga at all. No structure no flow just some exercises like jumping jacks and coordination tasks. Although we did some nice breath work exercises and a meditation session afterwards.

I would still recommend this hostel but it could use some improvements on the cleaning of the common areas, the humidity and cold of the rooms, and the bunk bed way too close to the roof. Considering where it is located and the services I found the price to be a bit high. The yoga lessons were nice and the breakfast too.

The Hostel is generally nice, but make sure to bring earplugs. Unfortunately during our stay there were some very disrespectful guests who were extremely loud at night. And since there are no windows but only metal blinds you hear every needle drop to the ground. And better bring some warm clothes cause the room can get quite cold at night, a real blanket and not only some sheets would‘ve been nice. The location though is very beautiful and if you get a room with a good view I‘m sure it can...

We did not really understand all the good reviews here. The first night, there were a bunch of locals (not even accommodated) partying there since 10pm - 5am. I went to ask to the reception at 10:30 if this is going to be a full night thing, but said that she will ask them to stop. The music stopped (played it from phone only instead of speaker) but the noise was horrible until early morning when they turned on their motorbikes for 30 minutes until they left by 5. So considering this was suppose...

Truly wonderful staff who went way above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The water was hit and miss, and extremely thin walls between the rooms. Unfortunately while we were there there was loud construction noise all day on the lot next door. Quite a high price for basic facilities.

Very cool chill vibe , with yoga classes Very helpful staff Rooms are okay, with a nice view. Only thing that bothered is the smell of humidity. But it’s not their fault

Staff is amazing! Carlos is so kind and helpful. Best stay in Colombia so far :) It also worked fine working remotely from the hostel. That breakfast is included is also nice!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostal Vistaguila, it's a really nice and peaceful place! There's also warm water and you can choose one of three breakfasts for free :) there are also free yoga classes :)

Gute Lage und nettes Personal, süßer Gemeinschaftsbereich. Leider hat es zwischendurch immer mal wieder modrig aus dem Badezimmer gerochen

Tocayo is hilarious, place is filled with good energy. Just the opposite of bogota

Die Räume waren klamm/ nass von innen und es war Schimmel an den Wänden. Ansonsten sehr gemütlich angelegt und schöne Aussicht :)

I just stayed 6 nights in a private room hosted by John the owner at Hostal Vistaguila. I was only going to stay 3 but loved the area and felt super comfortable with the hostal. Hot water showers, relaxing gardens, super helpful staff, breakfast, yoga and meditation led by John. Plus the beautiful little sites of Salento and the Cocora Valley. The hostal was a bit away from the main square but very easily walkable in 10 minutes. It was very quiet at the hostal. Highly recommend a stay!

Rapport qualité prix un peu en décaler.

Great vibe. The owner is awesome. Offers great excursions. Kitchen is very much a hostel kitchen, but we signed up for that so it was fine. Would recommend 100%

Ich war mit meinem Freund in einem Privatzimmer und wir beide haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Hostel jedem empfehlen. Es liegt 5 Minuten fußläufig von der Stadt entfernt aber weit genug, dass man absolut seine Ruhe hat. Besonders hat uns das Yoga & Meditation mit John gefallen. Wir konnten viel von ihm lernen und sind dankbar für die Gespräche und Ansichten, die er mit uns geteilt hat. Wenn wir nochmal in Salento sind, werden wir genau hierhin wieder kommen! Danke 🌞

Absolutely amazing stay with John as a host. The hostel is a real spot of peace. John proposes a lot of services and activities, you can easily stay there a week with plenty of thinks to do. I recommend 100% to try it!!

It says check-in from 3pm but in our 4 days here the reception was always closed from 3 with no one around - bear this in mind if wanting to leave luggage safely post 3pm. No info packs/guides as you might expect with a hostel to help you get your bearings and explain things to do, especially considering the hostel is on the edge of town. We booked a 3 bed dorm but were put in a 4 bed (not the end of the world). Hot water was broken for 3 days but eventually fixed on our penultimate day.

It was a nice hostel in terms of the amenities but the staff were absent for most of the day, the reception was only open for an hour in the afternoon. It’s about a 10 minute walk into town, near enough to everything you need in Salento.

Sehr schönes Hostel, hatten eine mega Zeit, auch die Atmosphäre war mega, interessante andere Leute für spannende Gespräche waren auch immer nicht weit. Würde jederzeit wieder meine Nächte in Salento hier verbringen.

Le séjour était parfait. Le lieu est apaisant et très beau.
