Let me start of by adding i got a refund for my night i moved. Worst hostel stay of my life so far. Power outage for over 24 hours whilst others had generators. -No water -No elektricity/AC/light… - 30min walk to the surf beach (no option to rent bicycles/moped) - Fan but the cable doesn’t reach - Small bed - You get eaten by bugs if showering (outside) - Too small common area - Way too hot to be in the dorm during the day - Bed nr 8 no curtain (they gave me extra towel to make one tho!)
I had a two-person room in La Chamba. It was very clean. The bathroom was really being replaced and was not clean. Also the room itself was very dusty. The breakfast was moderate, no explanation was given about how exactly it worked. Also unclear who works in a hostel at all. The atmosphere was good.
Beds were very springy and not ideal but otherwise was fine.
I stayed in a private room which was located right next to the reception. The walls were so thin I heard everything through them and it did not feel private at all. It did not seem like a social place and I didn’t find the workers very helpful either. Would’ve needed more showers/bathrooms as well. However the location was good.
Good location near the dive/snorkel shops. The con would be the dorm set up: you cant be there during day time bc of the heat, no individual lights, no proper walls between beds.
Nice to have your own little 'room'. Friendly staff. Great kitchen and good breakfast. There was not so much space to sit, especially when it was raining in the evenings.
My rating would be higher as this place is lovely and the volunteers are really kind but the beds are just so so uncomfortable and I really think it lets the place down. We stayed in a private room and then the dorm and all 3 mattresses were awful. You can feel all the springs and we had to use clothes and towels as padding. I ended up having backache by the end of the stay. You can buy mattress toppers for the same price as a night here so it’s so easy to fix too!
Nice hostel, not very special in terms of facilities. It is located in a nice part of the small town. There are a number of nice restaurants nearby. The 2-person private room is erg klein. The shared toilet/shower is not very clean. The toilets and showers outside are better.
La chamba has a great social vibe and we met lovely people. The room was clean and air con great. The shower indoors was blocked, which left that bathroom non functional and very smelly. The outdoor bathrooms were nice and the included breakfast was good too.
The hostel looks very cool and the dorm does as well. Happy I stayed there for a night. Breakfast was great as well. AC during the night

thank you for the delicious carbonara and the wonderful vibes, we loved our stable, thank you issac
Great place! The electricity does go on and off (but that is every where so charge your powerbank)
Very good atmosphere, the staff was incredibly kind. However it is a 20-25 minute walk to go surfing and the mattresses were very uncomfortable

most social hostel, adorable people, I kept extending my stay, just couldn‘t leave. 10/10
A lovely warm hostel, the staff were amazing. It was quite a social spot as well for solo travellers with events happening every night. The bar was great and Rudolph made some amazing cocktails! The bathrooms could do with some upgrading and the accommodation was a bit basic but for the price it wasn't bad at all.

La Chamba Surf House was one of the most social and relaxed hostels I've ever been to. super atmosphere, easy to meet people and just a really good vibe throughout the house. the volunteers were great open, helpful and contributed a lot to the atmosphere. big greetings to Roger, the best bartender from Santa Catalina, and an Alex! you made the stay even better.
I stayed at 4 hostels in my time in Santa Catalina and this was hands down my favorite! HOT TIP: book in advance at least a few days, ideally a week out (this is why I ended up at so many hostels lol). Great location, solid breakfast, immaculate vibes, pupusas on deck, cute bed nooks, only thing more to ask for would be a closer bathroom but I survived to tell the tale so you can too! Loved this spot.
The hostel looks very cool and the dorm does as well. Happy I stayed there for a night. Breakfast was great as well. AC during the night
Tolles Hostel! Und Santa Catalina ist wirklich toll
And Santa Catalina is really cool.
Really pretty and social hostel. The kitchen is great and the tab water if filtered (drinkable!). The mattres in the private room though was super uncomftable and its still a 20min walk from the surfbeach.

Great hostel with amazing staff! The volunteers made the place feel like home. The breakfast is also good and the place is kept very clean
Great cozy hostel in a very good location. Volunteering stuff makes the stay feel like home, definitely deserves a drink! Great breakfast. Rooms with AC
The hostel is super nice! Breakfast is great and the volunteers are super kind! Cheers to Josie and James you were the best! The chamber is cool but the beds are not too comfy.
