tithe location is really nice and super chill. But that's all the good I can say about this hostel. Me and my friend woke up with an extreme itchiness and a lot of weird bulbs and spots on our body. We checked our beds an literally found some bedbugs in our bed. When we told the staff they were lauging and denying the fact what we found the bugs in our bed. They saw the bugs and were lying that it actually was a bedbug. We didn't got a refund or something else. DON'T GO TO THIS HOSTEL!
BED BUGS 🪳🚨 Our beds were infested with bed bugs, which were crawling on us in the night. Staff ignored us, lied to us, and even gaslit us by saying it was “a rumour” and “in our heads” - before admitting their long-term bug problem! We later found out the entire dorm before us had left due to bites, yet they still checked us in. We had to pay to disinfect all our belongings which they refused to refund. They knowingly let guests sleep in infested beds. Disgusting and completely...
Do not stay — bed bugs. Great vibe, but our stay was ruined by a serious bed bug infestation and poor management. The owner blamed us despite prior reports, reused the room after minimal cleaning, dismissed the issue as “normal,” and we had to push for a refund. When I returned to take photos, the owner grabbed my arm and threatened to call the police. Really scary. Would avoid this place.
We stayed in the private twin room. There was no lock on the door from outside. The fan they provided didn’t work. The mosquito nets were dirty, with bogies on them. WiFi doesn’t reach the room and doesn’t work well even in reception. Swimming pool is dirty and foggy. Shower water is freezing and difficult to stand under for more than a few minutes. The bedsheets had dirt on them. Beds are not big enough for anyone close to six foot

This place sucks. Beautiful location but the staff are unprofessional- young and can’t be bothered. The prize for ineffectiveness goes to the rude bar staff who you ask anything of and seem to bother them. Toilets were decent. The favorite tagline of the hostel is “the kitchen is closed”. Can’t find the AC remote? Too bad. Fire alarm beeps all night? Sorry we can’t help. Everything is an additional cost and just not worth it. Go to Mundo Nuevo.
3 nights in a 5-bed open-air dorm. Cupboards don’t allow locks, sheets bunched up, thin blanket wasn’t enough when temps dropped. Mosquito net had holes. Night 2, I found the restaurant closed for "Mexican Night" at the bar. Waited 1hr till they were ready, then another hr due to a lost order. On night 3, an unannounced party blasted bad music til 2:30 AM. Location is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Read this review if your looking to book one of the double bed suites! My boyfriend I booked the double bed cabin with a shared bathroom. Whilst in the pics it looked gorg … wasn’t quite what we found. Since the cabin is right next to the river (with not a very nice view of it either) it was FULL OF MOSQUITOES AND MOTHS. We asked to change rooms and were given a nicer one with private bathroom. This was nicer but still not great - when I left I found that I had SO MANY COCKROACHES IN MY BAG!...
This hostel has so much potential but it needs a lot of TLC. Our most expensive stay (private room) in Colombia yet it did not live up to the our expectations at all. The room itself was nice but the facilities of the hostel were a big let down. The pool looked nothing like the photos and was out of use the entire time. Turned up for the advertised yoga and no one showed up. We wanted to cancel our second night but were not allowed. Better options in Minca for sure!
The chef of the reception (a woman) was the most demotivated person I have ever got to know! She didn’t help, was always in bad mood and gave the feeling of not being welcome in the hostel to the guests! For this reason the bad rating! The breakfast was great and the cleaning ladies super lovely!

El lugar excelente y lo que más me gustó fue la terapia ayurveda de frio y calor que hace el profesor de yoga (Andrés). Salí muy feliz y relajado, además de que me pareció a un excelente precio ya que es una terapia personalizada.
The place was excellent and what I liked most was the Ayurvedic cold and heat therapy by the yoga teacher (Andrés).I left very happy and relaxed, plus I found it an excellent price as it is a personalized therapy.
Rio Elemento is a perfect spot if you’re looking for a place close to town, yet just outside the hustle and bustle and it’s situated along the river. I also appreciated the free breakfast and free yoga with Andres 🙏

The pictures of the place are not accurate - it has gone down hill significantly - but fridges full of beer! Saturday night was like trying to sleep at a rave. Yoga mats are worn out and filthy and the area to do it is a dirty, bumpy area covered with a fake turf mat. The pool is only 1/3 full and looks like it is water pumped directly from the river. The room I stayed in had a really gross bathroom. Pretty much every single tap/showerhead in the place is leaking. At breakfast I smelled sewage.

Un lugar para descansar y reconectar con la naturaleza. El río que lo atraviesa y el santuario son ideales para meditar, sentir la energía de la sierra nevada para recargarse. También tiene un buen bar y espacios para compartir con gente de otros lugares y culturas que visitan Minca.
The river that runs through it and the sanctuary are ideal for meditating, feeling the energy of the snowy Sierra to recharge. it also has a good bar and spaces to share with people from other places and cultures who visit Minca.

Got bedbugs while staying in this hostel (room Fuego). Do not book here until they’ve fixed this. It seems the staff were aware of this issue but still let us check into the room. It was also a hassle to get a partial refund, the owner was not understanding at all at first. His wife was way more understanding and handled it neatly. The location and amenities of the hostel were nice though. Not super social when I was there but maybe that was due to the group there.
The place is really nice until the night time when they play really loud music all night long, I couldn’t sleep and I was the furthest cabin away. It’s a peaceful place in the day time tho.

Ich war im Eco Dorm, einem Schlafsaal, der sich draußen befindet. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und mit Moskitonetzen ausgestattet. Der Fluss liegt direkt beim Hostel und ist perfekt zum Entspannen. Das Frühstück war lecker, allerdings sollte man nicht mit einer großen Portion rechnen. Das Hostel ist außerdem sehr einfach zu Fuß zu finden.
I was in the Eco Dorm, a bedroom that is located outside. The beds are very comfortable and equipped with mosquito nets. The river is directly next to the hostel and is perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, but you should not expect a large portion. The hostel is also very easy to find on foot.

They advertise this place as a chill hostel and tranquil vibe, but They play loud rap music really late into the night and I couldn’t sleep. Even from far away with earplugs. Also there are mosquitos everywhere.
Un hostel hermoso y enorme en un lugar mágico. Tiene un río que lo atraviesa con espacios para disfrutar sus orillas. Uruguayos y argentinos: para calentar agua hay que pedirlo a las personas que trabajan en la cocina, en el desayuno. Cuando fuimos no tenía jarra eléctrica ni donde calentar agua.
A beautiful and huge hostel in a magical place. it has a river that runs through it with spaces to enjoy its banks. uruguayans and argentines: to heat water you have to ask the people who work in the kitchen, at breakfast. when we were there was no electric jug or where to heat water.

El Rio elemento est un très bon point de chute calme tout en restant proche (5min à pied) de l’activité et du village de Minca.

Nice hostel to chill a bit and close to the city center. Not a party hostel. I would recommend improving the showers and facilities to be more comfortable.
el ambiente, la gente que llega al hostal es chévere, solo uno de los recepcionistas se la pasaba de mal genio y hasta decía palabrotas y solo pedimos una vez en el restaurante pq hubo una situación q por la tardanza en responder al pedido hubo mal entendido y luego nos hicieron sentir bastante incómodos.. pero el almuerzo estaba súper rico, pero en general, los demás bien, buena onda. Hay q tener en cuenta q se va seguido la luz en la zona y ya de por si, los cuartos compartidos son calie...
The atmosphere, the people who come to the hostel is chevere, only one of the receptionists was in a bad mood and even said swear words and we only ordered once in the restaurant pq there was a situation q for the delay in responding to the request there was misunderstanding and then they made us feel quite uncomfortable.. but the lunch was super rich, but in general, the others were fine, buena onda.
