Wide Mouth Frog

Disastrous check in. They didn't have the right number of people for which I had booked on Hostelworld, nor the right room. They wanted to give me the dormitory for 1 person while I had paid for a private room for 2 people. In the end we had one of the worst private rooms, smaller than a prison cell. The staff is incapable and not at all accommodating to help. The toilets are mixed and no privacy. The smells also come back up. Near bus station, pool is a plus, clean kitchen.

De dorm was enorm heet, geen airco, vies, nauwelijks ramen, slecht werkende ventilatoren. Sanitair was veruit vies en beschimmeld. Zwembad was oké, wel warm water.

Der Empfang war sehr unfreundlich.Dieunfreundlich.Die Dorms haben mini Fenster und nur zwei große Deckenventilatoren die überhaupt nichts bringen. Deshalb kann man eigentlich überhaupt nicht schlafen. Es gibt keine Frischluftzufuhr. Auf der Terrasse kann man auch nicht schlafen weil der Nachtwart die ganze nacht Filme laut am Handy ansieht. Beim Check ✔️ in wollte man mich abzocken mit einem höheren Betrag. Gesamteindruck: schön aber zum Übernachten kann ich es nicht empfehlen.

An sich ist das Hostel ganz nett, der Pool ist sehr cool. Die Küche ist groß und mit dem gröbsten ausgestattet. Das Wlan ist gut. Allerdings sind die Bäder dreckig, die Duschen sind eiskalt und es gibt kein warmes Wasser und 2 von 4 Duschen kann man nicht abschließen. Außerdem fehlen fast alle Haken, sodass man nichts aufhängen kann. Die Tür zum Dorm steht 24/7 auf (auch nachts). Die Spinde sind sehr klein, sodass dort kein normaler Rucksack reinpasst. Mein Bett wurde einfach weiterverge...

Personeel was niet heel vriendelijk, misschien kwam dat omdat ze niet over hoog kwaliteit Engels beheersden... De faciliteiten waren niet heel schoon, heel veel dingen waren versleten en de gedeelde keuken was vol met oud keukengerei dat allemaal lage kwaliteit was en om weg te gooien. Verder was de binnenplaats leuk, maar het zwembad voelde niet heel schoon. Douches waren koud en de sloten waren allemaal aan vervanging toe

The double room was so small that it was hard for two people to stand in there. The staff was not helpful when we asked them about how to get best to our next location. The worst was that the shower smelled. Overall, we would not recommend.

The hotel was nice but they had a kitchen with zero utensils or anything to eat off of or cook with. This is very much a hotel… you get your room and what’s in it, not a hostel or somewhere where the people there socialize with one another. It’s nice enough - the pool area is pretty.

ES MENTIRA QUE TIENEN COCINA. Hay un microondas y ni siquiera cubiertos. Una empleada nos confesó que habían tenido cocina y la suspendieron, pero la encargada (muy grosera, agresiva y desconsiderada) nos decía que un microondas era cocina. Una pena que mientan así. El Parking es limitado y hay que estacionar en la calle casi siempre. El barrio donde está es bastante feo.

Overall good, but the rooms are constructed in way which traps all the heat in them - there is very little airflow.

Not a hostel anymore, a nice hotel. but the shared kitchen only has a microwave and a sink. no cooking facilities or chopping boards or knives to prep anything with. but my room had aircon, a warm shower and a fridge

We loved our stay at the Casa at Wide Mouth Frog. Accommodation was a very comfortable size for the five of us and had excellent kitchen facilities and two good size bathrooms. Staff were excellent and the place was very clean. Loved the swimming pool which offered super rest and relaxation amongst all the activities and exploring you can do in the area. There’s a good soda across the road for food and drinks and watching sunset at the end of the road is just beautiful.

Great place. Like a boutique hotel for hostel prices. I stayed only one night. if you want a pool in a very nice place, this is for you. If you want a lot of social interaction, like in some hostels, this may not be for you.

Downtown location. Building works on the ground floor Room is concrete box - no cupboard, nowhere to hang clothes, no chair, table only fits the TV screen. If you want your laundry done remember to pay in advance: they don’t trust you to pay afterwards!

I loved staying here! Super nice dorm room with clean showers/toilets. Very nice pool and kitchen as well, I extended my stay while I was here! Staff was super helpful with all things hotel and bus related, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to chill out and wind down after traveling! Grocery store and main bus stop just down the road! Not a super social place but I had no problem with that!

Backpackers beware! This is more like a hotel than a hostel. Kids are welcome & that diminishes the vibe. Lots of local families stay here. The place was very clean & the pool area is great, but it’s filled with little kids. Not exactly what I was expecting, but still had a nice stay.

This is a really nice hostel. The 8-bed dorm room was excellent - they are big and spacious, very clean, air conditioned, the bunk beds are stable and not creeky, with steps to the top bunks, and they have two toilets and two showers in the room! The staff were helpful to resolve issues or give advice. The pool is nice and it's a great central location. My only comment is the kitchen could have been better equipped, and there was only one hob working when I was there. Overall would recommend!

Great value for the amout paid. dorm of8beds was really nice. a/c good. matress and pillow, good qualities. kitchen space really good, but could have better sauce pans and frying pans. pool area amazing.

Great location next to the bus stop, fantastic pool & kitchen & staff were very friendly. The showers had no hooks & sometimes not the cleanest.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt hier in Quepos. Wir haben uns durch das Person, welches sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit ist, immer sicher gefühlt. Leider haben die Dorms keine Fenster und die Klimaanlage wird von der Rezeption gesteuert. Die Pools sind top zum chillen und die Küche hat alles was man benötigt. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Hands down, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is amazing, I was greeted by Eddie, who made me feel at home from the beginning. The dorms are spacious and holds 2 toilets and 2 showers, which is luxurious. Beds are comfortable and there is a/c in the rooms. The facilities are great, the pool area is lovely and well kept and so is the common kitchen that is well equipped. My highest recommendations 😊

Das Hostel ist innen drinnen wirklich sehr schön. Es hat 2 Pools und die Schlafsääle sind sehr modern und geräumig. Jeder Schlafsaal verfügt über 2 Toiletten und 2 Duschen. Es gibt jedoch keine Schließfächer. Auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Negativ ist die Lage. In Quepos gibt es nicht sehr viel zu tun. Wer hier nur für den Nationalpark ist, kann das Hostel definitiv besuchen. Wenn man ein paar Tage länger bleiben will, würde ich evtl. eine Unterkunft in Strand- oder Restaurant...

Het hostel is verbouwd/aangebouwd/vernieuwd dan de foto's. Wij hadden een fijne gemengde dorm met sanitair. Allemaal erg schoon en netjes. Ze waren hier en daar in het hostel nog niet klaar met verbouwen, dus was nog wel wat stoffig. Het zwembad was een hele fijne verkoeling, omdat er niet echt een strand heel dichtbij is. Verder vriendelijk personeel. Keuken was opzich schoon, maar pannen en dergelijke wel verouderd.
