When they said it’s an open ceiling, they were not joking. You can heard every sound you can imagine. If you’re a light sleeper, you will be disturbed. The hallway were narrow and the private room were so small, it felt like a prison cell. I was only here for one night to catch my early morning flight the next day. And speaking of flight, if you have a luggage, you will have to carry it up the stairs because there’s no elevator. I don’t recommend staying here for more than one night.
La peor noche que he tenido en un hostal. Mucho ruido, de otros huéspedes y del bar abajo del hostal. El personal no se encontraba disponible al momento de mi check in y tampoco parecía importarles que los huéspedes siguieran o no las reglas.
It was the worst night I've ever had in a hostel. a lot of noise, from other guests and the bar below the hostel. the staff was not available at the time of my check in and they didn't seem to care whether guests followed the rules or not.
The rooms were smaller than my closet And can’t talk in the building 1 bathroom for 50 people on one floor old ran down Not worth the money I would never stay here again too many drug addicts in front of the building not safe bed to small no room to get out of the room
The rooms/dorms are way too small for the price. Also, there is no food available at the residency. Farting and snoring sounds at night is very common.
I was supposed to stay at this hostel last night, but the experience ended up being really uncomfortable. When I first arrived, one of the staff members was extremely rude, so I left for a while to get some air. Later that night, I came back with a friend, hoping to check in again. The front desk attendant was different this time, but he said my friend wasn’t allowed inside. We sat quietly on the lobby couch, and when we shared a brief kiss, the attendant suddenly shouted at us & threatened us
Room = A grave / a jail cell. Toilet = 1 for 30 people. Atmosphere = People snoring & farting around you. Peace = 0 percent as loud noises. Room size = 6 x 3 feet Fines = for everything.
Sleep will NOT happen on weekend nights because hostel is directly above a very loud club. The bed, walls and pod doors were shaking/rattling because of the music bass until 4am. The staff’s response, “it’s not their music.” Also the sleep pod is only as long as the bed, tall people will be uncomfortable. Which is too bad because the overall city location is ideal for lower NYC. If your say isn’t interrupted by party weekend, then the vibe in the common area is decent.
Había ratas y cucarachas. Las habitaciones son ataúdes. Y el ruido es 24/7 sin parar.
There were rats and cockroaches, the rooms are empty, and the noise is 24/7 non-stop.
It was horribel
Prison cells! Don’t be fooled by the lounge pics—the only area where you’re allowed to TALK btw. 24hr no talking rule($100 fee) that doesn’t work since they don’t monitor, reply messages, and snorers echo. Enjoy vintage dust bunnies on your face b/c they don’t dust the criss cross fence ceilings. 50+ cells per floor with 1 single all-gender bathroom and 2 gendered bathrooms—so pray your gender matches the floor(& not full)or else enjoy the midnight stair climb/wait. Paper thin shee...

It worth if it is charged no more than anyother hostel.
Excellent location though the accommodations are a bit cursed. All pods are these plywood constructions stuffed into a massive hall, not unlike storage units. Each pod is covered with only this garden lattice “in case of fire.” What all this leads to is zero sound isolation or privacy . There’s therefore a zero noise (talking, music, anything) rule in the pods strictly enforced by a $100 fee. Also, the showers were stinky and the bathroom had only one toilet. The staff were delightful,...
Great place for an affordable stay in Manhattan.
This may be the best value in New York City. A small private sleeping area with a phone charger. Convenient to alphabet city as well as SoHo. It is close to the subway, the J Train a block or so away, a laundromat on Delancey and in close proximity to Little Italy S well as Mott Street. The neighborhood is safe, early morning bustle gets you into the hectic pace of New York as it emerges from sleep and into the day in the world capital of finance, fashion and cuisine.
Some important things to note: this is a "pod" hostel as in you get a tiny windowless cell complete with a prison style bed (which was utterly terrible - if you sit on it you. collapse into a hole) and NOTHING else. There is only ONE toilet per gender for a whole floor of those pods (about 50) which is insane. You get a (again, prison style) towel, bed sheet and duvet cover but no duvet. As New York gets pretty cold, you'll be using your sleeping bag. There's a steep staircase leading to the ent...
This place is incredibly loud and there are lights on all night. Good locations and price for New York but holy hell a low tier hostel
Best facilities and room. It’s definitely worth the money and the bar next door is amazing. The bartender Steve(n) is a great guy too!
Honestly a good compromise. I was expecting much worse reading the reviews, but it seems some people don’t understand how hostels work.. I really appreciated the privacy of the room and the price is actually great for such a central spot! Only thing, bathrom cleaning should really be improved.

The location was great. Food options were plentiful. Bus and subway all close by. Only complaints was being 6 ft tall or more you probably won't fit in the bed. Im 6'2" and the bed was wall to wall. Quite uncomfortable. Also one 1 bathroom for men with a single toilet for the 40 room / people on the floor. .
The location is excellent and the staff was super friendly and friendly. there is one issue that is the "rooms" have no roof and the walls are finite, it is noisy because the people are noisy, if the people were respectful that would not happen. points against a men's bathroom per floor with a toilet and two showers (very good showers and hot water). no utensils in the kitchen. they clean every day but only once and the people are dirty (the guests). neither good nor bad.

Common area looks nice. Small kitchen, location is good quiet in town and easy to walk around. Everyone has a seperate room, more privacy than usual hostels. But the main problem is all those cabins are under one roof, mean ing as long as one doesn’t behave or snor like thunder, it’s a nightmare. Which unfortunately is the case almost every night.
Everything was clean and vibe was cozy in a more than perfect location, only think is walls in private are very think and rooms are super small; however, you do have privacy and for location price is unbeatable.
Great hostel. Friendly people. Rooms need to be quiet all day and night which is actually great. Lounges for chatting are really beautiful
Very clean and the common rooms are gorgeous. Nice spots to chill in, but the rooms themselves are smaller than how they appear on photos. The walls don’t go to the ceiling, so you pretty much share the same ceiling with all the other rooms and there is zero sound barrier.
This is my go to when in New York ! The price is always great! Bathroom and kitchen is always clean . Need a place to sleep , shower and relax this is it without spending an arm and a leg for a pricey hotel. I even had space to work the days I was there . overall bang for your buck .
I can’t express how warm the staff and space were. I initially wanted to stay for one day, but due to the blizzard, extended my stay. The staff and upkeep of the space were a 10! Will be staying in this hostel again if given the chance.

This hostel is poorly maintained and unsafe. A broken window left the building freezing during below-zero temperatures, and there was no hot water. Pipes froze, making a bathroom unusable. Staff were dismissive and made no repairs. These conditions appear to violate NYC heating laws. I documented everything and will report it. I could not safely use the facilities and believe a refund is warranted. Avoid staying here. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here until serious repairs.
