Oppa Hostel

Good location. The room smelled like mold. This is what I stated in our initial review. .After I published it, Hostel marked our booking as “no-show” in, what I can only assume, an attempt to get rid of an unfavourable review. This was plainly false, as we did check in, paid and staid the whole three nights. Fortunately after I raised this with them, the website allowed me to write another review. Great location! Comfortable room! Was only there for 1 night and was perfect for what I needed! Note that the property says they provide towels but only hand towels, not towels for showering. Also only use AC in the summertime, but Richard was very nice and offered to let me turn it on, I ended up not needing it but he was very accommodating!

We had a great stay at Oppa Hostel. Richard was incredibly helpful during our stay. The location is great - close to the station and easy to get around, on a nice street but also tucked away so it's quiet. Rooms were a good size. Quiet hostel so no disturbances. Felt very safe.

The property is clean and well-maintained. My room was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The toiletries and hair products were excellent as well. Richard is a fantastic host—very helpful and kind. The only suggestion is that the property could benefit from having a kitchen where guests could cook.

Lovely stay at the hostel. Richard was very welcoming and made us feel at home. He helped us with directions and gave us recommendations on what to do. Good facilities to make drinks and breakfast and the room was clean and had everything we needed.

Great location, use NaverMaps instead of Google Maps for easier walking path vs. The hill. Fast wifi, clean room, electric blanket was a nice touch to help with the cool winter weather. High quality toiletries, Richard gave a lot of great info on the area, very helpful and friendly. Will stay again in the future.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, I recommend OPPA Hostel. Richard is a wonderful host and he goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable as much as possible. The room was clean and I had enough space to reorganize my luggage before I checked out. The location is convenient and pretty quiet at night (4 min walk to Sinchon station). Would definitely return when I come back to Seoul.

Richard was very accommodating and checked on me throughout the week to makes sure I was getting along well during my trip and stay. The room i stayed in was a private room with queen bed and a TV! The room had its on bathroom. It was super clean. The hostel is close to exit 4 subway and 30 min walk to Hongdae. I didnt see many guests, i met 2 nice girls from the UK. But ither than that was very quiet relaxing stay. I would stay there again.

Great property in a great neighborhood. Richard was always communicative and responsive to our needs, permitting our group to check-in and check-out at different times. Great guesthouse - I booked a private room for my myself and gf and we enjoyed our stay. Richard is a great host and gave us great recommendations! The location is very close to Sinchon metro station and there are 100+ places to eat and drink nearby. This is a great option if you need a private place to stay in central Seoul!

A great little hostel with a clean and functional room in a really lovely area of Seoul, with brilliant transport links to all the main attractions. Richard was an incredibly helpful and attentive host. Very good value.

It was a pleasure to stay there. The connection to public transportation is very good. A little hidden in the side streets make sure you have a Maps App that works well in Korea then no issues to find it. Richard was attentive and easily reachable at any time .

Pretty basic rooms but clean and good value for money. Good WiFi, toiletries and (small, but this seems to be standard in Korea) towels provided. Small fridge in room for soft drinks. Immediate area is pretty quiet but very short walk to Sinchon main strip and 1 metro stop from Hongdae. Host Richard is friendly and made a few good recommendations, but not much of a social atmosphere/common area - there's a small deck but didn't seem to be used much by guests. Fantastic hostel that’s in a great area with plenty of food options. Right next to the Sinchon subway stop. The room I stayed in felt like a hotel room since it was so well maintained, and had everything I needed to enjoy a comfortable stay. Richard, the host, was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for hotel quality but at a hostel price.
