Ipanema Beach House

One of the staff members hit me up on a dating app and I blocked them because they were so much older and I wasn’t interested. They proceeded to make my stay at the hostel so uncomfortable for not reciprocating their advances. The women working at the hostel were sweet though. It was just this one worker that made my stay uncomfortable.

I emailed the hostel letting them know I would be arriving later than planned. They sent me an email back saying they received my message and all is good. Upon arriving, I had been marked as a no show, and they gave my room to someone else leaving me stranded. The manager took full responsibility and tried to find us another bed, but none were available. The manager left the property about 15 min later, leaving us stranded with nowhere to stay. I understand mistakes happen, this was exhausting.

Trop cher pour ce que c’est. La propreté n’était pas au rendez-vous et c’était surtout très bruyant, on entend tout ce qu’il se passe à l’extérieur et dans les dortoirs d’à côté.

Não recomendo.

Has a pool, which is nice. It is very over crowded. There is no proper place to brush your teeth. Cleanliness is subpar. Room doors do not lock. Location is close to metro station.

+ casa de banho e banheiro dividido + hora de caipirinhas ofertas para socializar + eventos criados pela staff para juntar o pessoal - mal ha espaco para se sentar no WC aquilo é muito pequeno. - O quarto que estive era um corredore com camas de ambos lados mal da para passar no meio. Basta haver uma pessoa que ja é uma complicacao para passar e sao muito mal isolados.

This hostel had bed bugs!!! Found bedbugs in my 6 bed room. I told the staff immediately and they didn’t care, they didn't offer a solution and didn’t care to let the other travelers in the room know that the room they were sleeping in an infested room. Only answer was “There’s nothing I can do about it”. Avoid this place.

The location is really great. However, not having curtains on the beds is ridiculous. Also, the bedsheets were dirty and the fact you had to buy drinks only from the bar👎. All in all, it was decent but definitely not worth the amount of money we paid

struttura molto cara per quello che offre,le stanze ed i letti sono vecchi. Ambiente non molto social. Personale non molto socievole e molto avido di denaro. Non lo consiglio per più di 5 dollari a notte

Mala experiencia me arruinaron la estadía en río. el trato fue horrible, tuvimos problemas todas las noches con el aire acondicionado, nos engripamos y por más que pedíamos solución la respuesta de la persona de la noche siempre fue prepotente y hasta con gritos. Todos en la pieza tenían Frio Pedimos abrigo de cama y nos cobraron por eso. No hay suficiente colgador de ropa. Todo nos pareció malísimo, estamos muy disconformes con el precio / calidad. El recepcionista de la noche muy mal...

Muy buen hostel para conocer gente, tenés pileta, es bonito, está bien ubicado, etc.

Decent place to stay, really close to the beach, clean. Stayed in the private room, I think the only thing with that is the door is really squeaky, but I didn’t think to say that whilst I was there. I think it would be good if there were more hostel led events to bring people together, but everyone was friendly! I like that it is gated also. Some things like laundry could be sign posted better. Overall, decent.

No volvería, desde el momento 1 tuvimos inconvenientes, me cobraron 50 USD más de lo que debían y no había intención de explicar o ayudar, había un muchacho que decía que no era el recepcionista, y cuando llegó Valentina su actitud fue prepotente, antipática y cero dispuesta a ayudar. Luego tuvimos otro inconveniente, en la habitación había dos personas teniendo sexo y al avisar en la recepción nos cambiaron de habitación y al chico que incumplió las reglas lo dejaron ahí como si ...

Good but so expensive for carnaval

I consider this pretty much the perfect hostel! I can only hope that all my hostels to come are like this one. Great location, social without being partying, great facilities, clean, and best of all—great common spaces. I loved the balcony off our room, the pool and its courtyard. Very quick walk to the beach. And appreciated the 24 hour front desk.

Muy bien ubicado y seguro. Falta mantención al lugar y algo de limpieza.

L’hostel est sympa mais les dortoirs bruyants. Ce n’est pas forcément un hostel pour faire la fête à Rio.

I liked the kitchen and the large outdoors showers with warm water. However, the 9-bed room (the cheapest option) doesn’t have AC, and that wasn’t mentioned on HostelWorld. The pillows are very thin and don’t offer much neck support. I also think having triple-stacked bunk beds in such a small room is too much. Six beds per room is a better option.

Sí bien el hostel es seguro, no posee lockers adecuados, casi todos son de madera, y en malas condiciones. Adicionalmente, el hostel, no posee un tender adecuado para secar la ropa. Es una lastima que un hostel tan grande carezca de brindar estos dos servicios, adecuadamente.

The staff was amazing and super helpful, always giving you tips and very kind people. Amenities were great, very close to the beach, and overall a great stay.

Excelente hostel, lo único que se podría mejorar es la conexión Wi-Fi que se caía siempre pero el resto todo espectacular 🙌

El hostel muy bien y tal pero lo mejor el SUPER NETO. Las mejores caipirinhas de todo Rio las hace este tio. Algunas caipis que te hace son inflamables pero perfecto para empalmar un Pedra do Sal. Hay que darle crédito a la princesa de recpeción. Cris, eres la mejor. En general fantástico, gracias a su magnífico personal sobretodo.

Muy lindo hostel, muy bien ubicado en zona céntrica de Ipanema a 1 cuadra del metro. Cuidado y limpio. El personal es educado y atiende a todas las consultas y necesidades. Lo único que puedo destacar como malo, en mi caso, es que la cama inferior estaba literalmente en el piso y que el cuarto que me toco era muy chico para 6 personas, ya que 2 valijas gigantes de otros pasajeros ocuparon todo el espacio. El resto estuvo todo perfecto, volvería sin dudas!
