Loft Hostel Koh Tao

Not clean and weird beds. No A/C. Very noisy at night from the bars around because the windows had to be open. Pretty expensive for what you get.

Worst hostel I’ve been in a long time. Music on blast until 11, but the only people at the bar were hostel workers. The sheets didn’t feel clean, the shower was always flooded and dirty. The only reason I stayed was the location, but overall this was a horrible stay.

Das Zimmer roch nach Schimmel, die Betten waren steinhart. Toilette und Dusche ebenfalls sehr sehr notdürftig und auch verdreckt, wir sind nach einer Nacht wieder abgereist und haben dafür Aufpreis zahlen müssen.

The room did not feel clean or safe. Whilst I was there I was laying on the bed and a giant centipede crawled across my bed and onto me. We also found silver fish which crawled out from the pillow after we woke up. We had a problem when we wanted to check out at 8 however, no one was there, despite it saying the reception opened at 8:00 meaning we only just about got our key deposit back and made our ferry. The key deposit is 300 baht per person which was the biggest deposit we’ve had.

Towels require payment and deposit, the room is barely air conditioned to the point where you don’t cool down but just get hot slower. Blankets feels like sandpaper and I will never stay here again. Then again it’s one of the cheaper hostels on the island so we gotta do what we gotta do though right? Try avoid this s*** hope though

we stayed for 5 nights and the room wasn’t cleaned once besides swapping the garbage and disinfectant spray in the air. we booked the 6 bed dorm and it ended up being attached to a 4 bed dorm, with a shared bathroom that had 1 shower and 1 toilet. the beds were the worst we’ve had in thailand, you could feel every spring. good price for laundry but our clothes came back stained. would be okay for a 1-2 night stay but nothing longer.

The sheet and bed were clean but all the facilities were dirty, especially the toilet and the small common area. Did the feel comfortable at all with the environment. pretty expensive for what they offer, for $3 more dollars you can have better places and free breakfast.

It was horror for me ... First the good stuff. The beds were pretty nice. New sheets but all around was dirty with sand or dust ... the Hostel was so goddamn loud and the room just next door. I could barely sleep at all and had to wear plug ins.. not better :/ It's a get drunk puke and fall on to bed hostel really nothing for regular sleep or chill evenings ... maybe you have Luck and some days will be quieter but I'd recommend you staying not there if you're not here for party.

Would not recommend!! Booking was not clear that no air con was provided, so we had to pay extra to update making it an extremely overpriced hostel! During our stay we found a pile of cockroaches, brown water from the shower, no water from the taps and a strong sewerage smell in bedroom. There was an extra room attached which shared our bathroom making it a 10 bed not a 6, the room was attached to the bar and felt very seedy & we all left with far more bites than usual, would not recommend!

Most of the staff were really lovely especially the manager and the guys on the desk. However the bathroom STUNK of rotten egg and faeces and the water would randomly turn off. There was only a blanket and the air-con was freezing at night (only gets turned on at 6pm). People in our room wanted the air-con off at night which we didn’t agree with but the manager handled it well. Bed was comfy and the shelving in the bed was convenient.

Good place to stay if you are looking to avoid taxi charges after arriving at the pier. Not much of an atmosphere and isn’t super social, but handy if you’re only in Koh Tao for a short trip or already have plans

The staff was super nice and helped us with everything we needed! The location is close to the pier and everything you need is just a couple minutes away. The room and Bathroom were a little bit small but clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend if you visit Koh Tao!!

Great hostel - we stayed here for 1 night only as we had an early ferry and it’s right by the port. Loved the layout of the rooms as there is so much space, own fan etc. didnt stay long enough to have an opinion about the atmosphere etc

A really lovely little hostel in Koh Tao, they have a bar and it has a social vibe but they were quiet by 11:30pm. Rooms were clean

It’s okay for a night or two, or diving and wanting to be the close to the scuba companies. The bathroom is one of the worst I’ve seen, it needs a complete deep clean. Rooms are very dark and the top room is always unlocked. No atmosphere (which is good or bad depending on what your wanting), and no social though they will play loud music for the staff and a few locals. I feel bad leaving this review as the receptionist was lovely and helpful, the room had a funny smell to it also.

Really lovely staff with convenient location and good privacy in bed areas. Communal areas felt a bit dirty and bedsheets stained. Good for a couple of nights though!

The location is excellent, with plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly, approachable, and very accommodating throughout my stay. They also offer affordable drinks, and it’s convenient that you can purchase tickets for major island events directly at the reception. That said, the atmosphere wasn’t as social as advertised. It would be great if the hostel could organize daily or at least weekly social activities for guests, rather than relying mainly on happy hour and ...

Great location and all the staff were really nice. Toilets were a little smelly sometimes but overall was a great stay

I stayed here for one night, so i had a place to sleep and rest before going to a party hostel and after the ferry ride i definitely needed that. The beds are surprisingly comfy, but the bathroom was not really clean. The staff was absolutely amazing, they helped me get a beIN sports subscription and put on the Formula 1 practice session for me. In the night they played loud music, but that didn't bother me, I slept like a baby.

The atmosphere is really good. Staffs are always there for helping you. They always give you the best suggestion. The bed and bathroom are clean. A lot of diving school nearby and also near by with many good restaurant.

the hostel was not welcoming at all and we felt uncomfortable with both the workers and the other guest staying. would not recommend at all. stay away

I love it. The staff service mind was amazing. The accommodation was great bed and toilet are cleaned and near by has a lot of diving school and good restaurant

Very nice and friendly hostel. The beds felt nice and private and the hostel felt very secure as a whole. We chose this as it was only a short walk from the pier but ended up being one of the best hostels we stayed in for the whole trip! The staff helped recommend things to do in Koh Tao and extended our stay last minute. The location was a bit further from the main “strip” of bars but only a 25 minute walk to the bar crawl and the surrounding beaches and restaurants were very nice.

i come for a diving and this hostel located near tons of diving school and near the pier so if I need to do a morning dive it make me so easy to get ready to the pier. Bed and toilet are great and staffs here are fabulous
