Auberge El Medina

Wir hatten Bettwanzen in unserem Zimmer. Nachdem wir uns geweigert haben, die Nacht in einem anderen Zimmer zu schlafen, haben sie sich geweigert, denn vollen Betrag zurückzuerstatten. Erst nach längerer Diskussion am nächsten Tag, wurde uns das Geld zurückgegeben. Umbedingt die Betten am Abend untersuchen. Gott sei dank haben wir die Bettwanzen vor dem schlafen bemerkt.

I really would not recommend this hostel though it is centrally located in the Medina of Tunis. It was ill kept and rundown. None of the bathrooms or showers had lights so you couldn't bathe, and the floors we're constantly slippery. Breakfast consisted solely of bread, dates, oranges, and coffee. Really expensive for the quality of the hostel which should have been priced much lower.

Bed bugs galore. Bugs were having a party on the beds and inside the sheets. The place does look authentic and nice, but they are just trying to save money and not make it a better hostel. I had over 30 bites all over my body the two nights I stayed there. Not a single bite before and after I stayed at this hostel. Worst of all, the owner refused to give me my money back. Oh, and the breakfast was really bad. Just bread, coffee and apples.

BED BUGS! This has to be the worse hostel i have stayed at. first night in my bed i felt itchy, didnt think much of it. 2nd night again. i get up to inspect and i see bed bugs. i tell the reception. they tell me there a group there before me and thats why. they refused a refund. but that was ok with me. but then they started accusatory questions and suggesting i brought them. i left even tho i had 1 more night. the hostel itself is cold and dark, no hot water. and the 'breakfast' is a joke.

this place is a top contriubtor to my less than enjoyable experience. they were non communicative, despite emails, 16 calls and knocking on the door. had me sitting on the street in the late night/early morning

Bedbugs…. It was a great hostel BUT I got bit by bedbugs and they did not reply to my email about it

The staff is not welcoming and not providing any information unfortunately The place is quite dirty and the rooms are smelling We ve been given a room which was not even cleaned up with used bedsheets and when we ve complained we got another but but was not much better We unfortunately have been charged for 2 nights and we ran away! Horrible o definitely not recommend this place

Do not recommend at all. Staff really not friendly, facilities in bad conditions and very dirty!!! On the top, breakfast is pitiful and toilet paper not provided!

Don‘t understand me wrong. The hostel was good. Friendly staff. Big bedrooms. Unfortunately, the staff members speak almost no English. No laundry service there. No toilet paper. worst bedbug situation I've encountered, all of us had multiple bites. The staff are great, the location is amazing. Also no lockers to store valuables

Good location during the day, but make sure you're back before sunset or it can get a little dicey. It was kinda social, but the atmosphere was a little bit weird/hostile(this wasn't just my opinion, a few other people agreed with me). It felt like some of the staff were judging or watching me every time I walked by.

Cette auberge est infestée de punaises de lit, vraiment à éviter, mais c'est dommage car le lieu est très beau. Je devais rester 2 nuits mais je suis partie le 2e jour car j'ai vu trois punaises de lit en seulement une nuit, j'avais été avertie par les commentaires sur google mais je n'avais pas vu d'avertissement sur hostelworld donc je le fais ici. Vraiment c'est dommage mais ne venez pas si vous voulez éviter les galères pour empêcher de se retrouver infesté, ou même d'être infest...

Tout était comme écrit. Simple et avec beaucoup d'atmosphère. Personel gentil, très calm et des bons matelas.

Really beautiful building full of light and in an unbeatable location. Literally steps away from the Tunis medina, the best hostel if you want to explore and walk around. The included breakfast was really good for being free, and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Facilities are a bit dated, so the shower takes a while to warm up and the rooms are cold in winter, but all of this is expected if you are budget traveling. Not the most social hostel, very chill and quiet. Overall very nice

Had a wonderful time. I can tell that when it's busier in the summer the vibes will be immaculate. The location is great - right next to the medina and well based for exploring. The hosts were lovely - especially the young woman that brought extra blankets for everyone on one particularly cold night.

Wonderful place to stay in perfect location of tunis medina. we will definitely be back.

I loved the place. unfortunately the location was not the best as in the night the streets of the Medina are dark and scary. but the hostel itself was super great!

Auberge El Medina is a great facility. The staff are wonderful and caring, ensuring that all is well with your stay, even going out of their way to assist with personal issues. The location is right in Medina, as the name suggests, near shops with coffee, food, ATM, etc.

True gem in the center of the Medina. The location is perfect, just steps away from the souks, cafés, and others sites. Mounir, Hayat and Diana (the volunteer) were incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or some chat.The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated with Tunisian touches, like the rest of the hostel. The breakfast is simple but fresh and delicious. The hostel offered me a genuine cultural experience, I highly recommend it. Thank you !!...

Pas agréable Accès difficile Insécurité

I stayed for 3 nights and was disappointed by the Auberge. The staff member was lovely! Helpful (even without speaking much English) and the welcome email and WhatsApp message is a nice touch! But the hostel itself does not feel clean, lacks ventilation no lights in the showers so you can’t shower at night, the rooms don’t have lockers and the breakfast was covered in mould. The area itself is also not safe for female solo travelers especially walking past 7pm as it is dark small alleyw...
