Scammed on shuttle and dirty

I had a very unpleasant experience during my 3 nights stay at this hostel. My money was stolen from my bag which was on my bed... some staff was really understanding but another one was kinda rough and left me without answers... To this day I'm waiting to see the cameras... Also if you're a light sleeper, people talk from 7am really loud in front the rooms, and it echos inside the structure. I was not able to sleep properly during all my stay and it was difficult to enjoy my days.

Best staff of any hostel I've stayed in (which is a lot), so friendly and so helpful. Went above and beyond. Everyone staying does the volcano hike from here and everyone is really respectful with regards to noise, even during the day. This means that there is effectively no atmosphere because everyone is so quiet..! The hostel is so clean, it's really nice to hang out, especially on the roof, and the free coffee is 👌. Its definitely overpriced, but if that's not a problem then go for it.

Leider keine Fenster in den Zimmer. Sehr stickig, durchgelegene Matratzen. Das Personal war super nett und zuvorkommend. :)

Mainly it’s the value of a private, compared to other places. Location is far from the main part of town.

the terrace, it's view and the other common areas are comfortable and nicely furnished, they offer free coffee and water, the showers and sinks were just okay. the dorm room was smelly and way too hot, uncomfortable beds, sagging/old mattresses, no window except for the door to the atrium. Even though the common areas are nice I wouln't stay here again.

I have stayed in a lot of hostels in Antigua and this was definitely the worst one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still okay, but I really don’t get the high rating. Rooms super small, the kitchen can’t really be called a kitchen (no sink etc). Some of the toilets don’t lock and the shower is super dark. WiFi is good how it should be, and the rooftop is nice, but still super basic. Much better places to stay in Antigua.

I dont really get why this hostel is rated so good. Upon arriva at 6:30am the lady told me that it is not possible for me to stay in the common area until 12, which I have never heard of before. As a hostel in antigua you have to be prepared for people coming from flores via nightbus and not providing the common area is really unfriendly and not hospitable at all. Other than that, the bed is not really comfortable, the curtains are not really curtains and the rooftop closes at 10pm.

The hostel was okay overall, but the facilities are starting to show some wear and tear. While the stay was acceptable, the value for money isn’t very competitive compared to other hostels in the city that offer more modern, comfortable spaces at better prices.

one of the best hostels I stayed in during traveling Central America. This hostel felt extra homely and the staff were so friendly and happy to help out with any questions we had. Although there's no organized events at the hostel it was easy to socialize as everyone staying there was very friendly and chatty. Also a bonus that you get a great view of the volcanos from the rooftop.

Literally the loveliest hostel ever. Met so many lovely people, rooftop is perfectly cosy and peaceful with nooks for everyone. Every member of the staff here were so lovely and the place is always immaculately clean. Receptionists helped me with all my questions. Super homey, super recommend.

We had a brilliant stay at Purpose Hostel. The property itself is lovely, and the rooms are so spacious and much nicer than the photos online. Room had a wall fan and a plug in fan, both were great. The roof terrace was a favourite with an excellent view of the volcano. The hostel was clean all the time and unlimited drinking water, tea and coffee. Hot showers too. Recommend for anyone staying in Antigua!

Stayed in a private room which was nice, clean and quiet. The staff are super kind and friendly. I didn't love the shared toilet /showers, as there's only shower curtains for privacy.

Nice folks. The staff was extremely helpful. A safe space for a quiet place to sleep. Will come again.

Best hostel I’ve stayed in in a very long time. It’s run by women and I’ve never felt so safe and at home while travelling. The place is incredibly clean, honestly the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to. The views of the volcano are also the best in Antigua, which makes it even more special. But the best part is the staff. They really make the whole experience, so kind, welcoming and you can feel they truly care. I actually extended my stay, came back again, and would 100% return.

Perfect peaceful hostel for pre or post Acatenango hike. Quiet but still social if you’re looking to meet people. The staff was so helpful and kind. Beautiful rooftop and common areas to hang. The kitchen was super clean and organized and had every appliance you could think of or need. The staff washes your dirty dishes for you which is so nice! Only complaint is the showers didn’t stay hot after a few minutes despite the hostel advertising hot showers but what can you expect. Would stay aga...

I only stayed here for one night, before my Acatenango hike, but I really loved it. The hostel had everything you need. Dorm bed was comfy. Rooftop was lovely, great views! Staff were sooooo friendly, happy to keep my luggage in a locked locker while I hiked and full of very patient with my many questions and full of helpful advice. Highly recommend!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! Such a lovely calm vibe, beautiful rooms, comfy beds with curtains, very clean, amazing view from the terrace (they have yoga mats!) One little thing that I missed was a better kitchen for cooking- there's no sink and just a basic camping stove, but therefore you don't have to clean the dishes yourself.

This was a great hostel, I wish I could’ve stayed longer! The terrace was beautiful! So great to hang out at night:) very peaceful! The beds were comfy and the staff was so friendly:)

The owner (I think?) is one of the loveliest women. She gives great care and attention to everyone staying there. Very helpful and caring. I love the rooftop area! If I come back, this is where I’m staying.

Amazing hostel and amazing stay. The staff are incredibly nice and go out of their way to help if there are any issues or you have any questions about anything. They helped me find the location of my next accommodation as well. The rooftop is so worth it. Would 100% stay again, choose the 4 person dorm, worth it!

Really really nice hostel. The staff are super helpful and always making you feel welcome and letting you know what's going on in the City. They provide lockers to keep all your items safe as well as a lock and have a nice little shop that you can grab stuff from whenever you need. It's not super loud and perfect if planning to do the hike

This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! The staff is amazing, sweet and so helpful. The beds are nice and the rooftop is really cool. Not the most social hostel, but it depends what you make of it, I met some really cool people here! Felt really safe as a female solo traveler!

Lovely spot, and staff, was just surprisingly expensive. Roof top lounge area was really nice & kitchen was well equipped.
