Britannia Inn Hotel

SKETCHY!! We booked the Britannia Inn but stayed in the Park Hotel down the road. Was charged a 'security deposit' of £100 in the Britannia Inn. I then checked my bank account on check out and saw they charged me TWICE for staying in the Britannia and apparently I will get these back. Unfortunately this is a civil case and the MET police were unable to help. I will try contacting my bank and the site today to cancel these transactions. On top of all that the place is a dump

I’m now about to check out and I now see on other platforms that many people have had trouble refunding their security deposit. £100 security deposit is very steep, many people choose this hotel because it is out of town and therefore to save money they choose a £50 a night deal and will not have the funds for an extra 100 pounds. How can I insure I get my deposit back if I’m out of the country and cannot chase you up? Why not just take a passport? Why do you move people to a different hot...

It was a bad experience. First they said they couldn't find my booking and wanted to charge me more, then it seems they ran out of space and sent me to another hostel, I had to walk more than 5 minutes in plain night. Wouldn't recommend at all

Told me on arrival my card to pay the 100 Pounds Deposit didnt work (which it did for two weeks eveyrwhere else in the UK) cause its a signature card. Asked me for another which I didnt have. Wanted to pay in cash the receptionist told me then it would be double the amount (200 Pounds!) Seemed like a scam so we rejected the offer. Checked other reviews later, they are scamming people and the place is infested with bedbugs and black mould (pictures of others on Tripadvisor.)

The office person was attentive and answered our needs. The parking was safe and right outside the door. The breakfast and layout and attendees were exceptional. Our only concerns was the bed! The bed is way past needing replaced.
