We did not quite understand that hostel. The location directly at the main street was very loud. The volunteers were super friendly and helpful! We expected more from the pictures on hostelworld, was not very social, there is only one dorm. The kitchen was well eqiupped.
Volunteers were friendly, but the owner gave me a very unwelcoming vibe.I was also asked for my locker key around 9am even though checkout is 12, which felt like being pushed out early. Staff also didn’t know much about buses or tours, so don’t expect much help with local info. Facilities were fine, but as a solo traveller I didn’t feel comfortable here.
Overall the property was nice enough but I wouldn’t recommend for solo travellers at all. There was no atmosphere, nothing social of any kind and so not great if you’re wanting to find people to hang out & explore the area with. There is AC but it’s controlled by the management & comes on (if I remember correctly) at 21:00-09:00… which isn’t great if you’re travelling during hotter months. The large bunks are definitely a plus, and I think you’d enjoy the experience if wanted quite...
Had a great time here. Kind of in an isolated location which is nice but also can be inconvenient. There are some decent restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The staff and owner are awesome. Clean facilities. Small tight-knit atmosphere with other travelers
Good location, 30 minute walk to the beach. Was really empty when I was there, basically just me and the volunteers working there. Beds were fantastic, and the kitchen had everything you might need and more. Great hostel!
Great hostel, super clean, they are good at keeping the dorm room smelling good. They also let us keep valuables in the lockers after checkout (it wasn’t super busy so I’m not sure if that could be possible for everyone, but it was nice) Only issue was location, it’s located right next to a busy highway and it’s a 30 minute walk from the free entrance of the uvita beach. The walk doesn’t have much shade.
Nice hostel, but quite small. Wasn’t that social. Lot of nice places to chill
An okay hostel, very clean and not very worn due to being so new. No lock or keycard to dorm. The owners are quite rude regarding their feelings about guests in front of other guests. Upper bunks get extremely warm very quickly in the day. Being only a 12 bed dorm and a single private room make it small and easy to visit with people.
my friend and I stayed one night at this recently opened hostel. We got a warm welcome by the hosts who showed us around the ship-like place. The pods have everything you need, including lockers. unfortunately they dont take payments by card yet but you will have atms at walking distance as well as a supermarket. I'd definitely stay there next time in CR(hopefully for the envision festival.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at!
The BEST hostel I’ve ever stayed in. So clean, cozy and quiet. I could’ve easily stayed there a month. I so badly wanted to take Dobby, Evie and Navi, the hostel pets, home with me. The whole staff and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Great concept, a well-equipped kitchen, and very friendly and helpful staff.

Great place! The location is on a main road so it’s loud outside but the rooms are really quiet Even though there’s a lot of people in the dorms, it’s built in a way that you don’t feel them and you have your own privacy The owners and the woman that works there are very kind and helpful It has a nice kitchen with some complementary items that helps you cook and the supermarket is very close

I had a great stay at Shipwrecked Hostel. I was in town for Envision Festival and needed a place to stay the night before. It's a cute little hostel in Uvita. There is an upstairs open space with places to lounge and do yoga, a few showers and bathrooms, a full kitchen with a stove and fridge, and $10 for laundry is reasonable. The room is secure, air conditioning is great, beds are cozy and private with the curtains, and lockers (with keys). Owner shared local knowledge and recommendations.
Great people & easy to meet other guests as you all sleep in the same room. Super clean, best bunks ever. Right across the street from a supermarket. Great area on upper deck for working remotely. Just the wifi could be better but you will have this issue anywhere you go in Costa Rica.
The owners and volunteers are really helpful and friendly! I ended up coming back again during my trip and would definitely come back agin!
Very pretty here. A really good vibe and nice people working there. Really clean, and really nothing bad to say😊
I had a great stay in shipwrecked hostel. Workers were friendly and helpful and it was clean that also because they want that the guest follow the hostel rules and keep an eye on it. I slept very good (best sleep of my trip so far).
Loved staying here! Calm atmosphere and nice employees
one of the coziest hostels, I've ever stayed! great concept, clean, lovely hosts and chill atmosphere!
Best best hostel ever. I loved the staff the animals EVERYTHING. Would recommend the chair message it’s phenomenal. Great facilities, clean - SO clean it’s incredible, comfortable beds and private. Only downside is that it’s a bit far from the beach by walking and I slipped a few times walking up the steep hill after it rained. You can easily get Ubers though! Stay here!!
All hostels should be like Shipwrecked Hostel - then bunkbeds were excellent. Just like you had you own little room. Clean everywhere and the staff was so friendly. The social room was very cosy and nice! 10 out of 10 stars!
