Tzunun Hostel

Établissement Médiocre. Nous avons louer une chambre , une nuit, durant la Samana Santa (300$ can) puisque nous étions mal pris. La chambre étais incroyablement sale. Plancher collant dans toute la pièce, brosse à dent retrouver dans le lit et salle de bain très mal entretenu. Lorsque je demande une troisième serviette (alors que nous somme 3) il me demande de payé un dépôt. Le staff est impoli et non professionnel. Endroit à évité

Über Hostelworld für ca. 400 Quetzales gebucht und Bestätigung erhalten, vor Ort sollten es plötzlich über 1000 Quetzales sein, angeblich wegen eines Fehlers. Eine bestätigte Buchung ist verbindlich, nicht verhandelbar. Die Volunteers waren sehr freundlich, der Eigentümer hat die Preiserhöhung entschieden. So etwas ist nicht akzeptabel.

Downgraded our room to then empty out the one we booked in order to have a techno party that literally rattled the beds until 6AM! On a Monday night, absolutely ridiculous, there was no way to know because this was apparently a spur of the moment event by the staff.

The staff here ruined the stay! It’s a bunch of young, loud, rude, uneducated flamboyant locals who treat the hotel like their own playground.. until the owner shows up! I was woken up by the staff EVERYDAY because they were loud, playing music like teenagers, screaming, dancing, joking etc at 07.00 AM!! The staff are so irresponsible and they mess up bookings, people who pay for 7 days have to move rooms and beds several times per week for no reason other than the fact that the staff messed ...

La cucina non è condivisa come scritto, piena di scarafaggi. Mi hanno concesso l'uso della cucina solo in via eccezionale e solo perché sono allergica e ho difficoltà a mangiare fuori. La comunicazione è inefficace, non rispondono ai messaggi o rispondono con moltissimo ritardo. Ho chiesto un trasporto per l'aeroporto con 3 giorni di anticipo e mi hanno risposto solo la notte prima della partenza, che sarebbe stata alle 2 del mattino, quando, ovviamente, avevo già prenotato un altro traspor...

We hadden met 2 personen geboekt, maar hadden een aparte kamer. De douches zijn erg onhandig en zijn gelegen op het centrale plein waardoor er geen privacy was. Het personeel kon geen Engels.

We originally planned to stay for 5 nights, however, we left 3 nights early, as the property did not feel safe at all. Staff let random people use the toilet facilities as if it was a public toilet, and I walked into a local woman, who was not staying at the hostel, in our private dorm with her child. Shower and toilet facilities are also extremely basic and there is no social atmosphere. Would not recommend, especially if you are a solo female traveler.

We had a terrible experience at Tzunun Hostel in Antigua. We arrived at 3 a.m. after informing them, but nobody opened the door for 20 minutes until 4 a.m. because the guard had fallen asleep after a party. The next night, another loud party was held right next to our room, making it impossible to sleep before our Acatenango hike. We were pressured to pay upfront and never received the promised partial refund. Unprofessional and unreliable.

Unser zimmer war sehr feucht und voller Schimmel, für die Frauen gab es eine einzige Toilette/Waschbecken für das gesamte Hostel. Wir waren froh das wir nur für eine Nacht dort geschlafen haben ansonsten hätten wir uns eine neue Unterkunft gesucht

Not the worst hostel I've been to but the layout is really weird. There are only two showers and toilets in the entire hostel and they're right next to the common area so it's a bit awkward taking a dump while people are eating and socializing outside. We arrived and they informed us that there was no kitchen available because guests don't clean up after themselves. Sorry but that's not my problem. Learning that after arriving and paying is unacceptable.

The kitchen facilities are not open to the guests, which was not clear from hostelworld. Otherwise very nice hostel!:)

Had food poisoning but the staff were so accommodating!!

Betten unbequem und keine Ablage für Handy etc. Seltsame Stimmung im Hostel. Schöne Dachterrasse und Frühstück war auch gut.

This hostel was okay. The staff was not very friendly. They seemed like they all hated being there including the manager. Some of the prices include breakfast? But you have to order the night prior or early on the morning otherwise you’re left with little to no options. Also, there is not a shared kitchen which is not advertised but I would suggest adding, especially with the amount of budget travelers come through.

Excelente hostel en Guatemala. Está muy bien ubicado, el personal es encantador y las vistas al volcán Acatenango son simplemente increíbles. Además, ofrece una muy buena relación calidad-precio, puesto que incluye el desayuno y es muy limpio.

DJ playing loud music right outside the rooms until 11pm, no locks on room doors and during the day little security. If solo female traveler I would NOT recommend. The shared dorms without en suite bathrooms share two toilets and two showers which are located right next to the bar and DJ. Hostel vibe isn’t social, kind of weird. The staff are kind and the terrace is nice, as well as the breakfast, but it is neither a social hostel to meet people NOR a good place to get a good night’s rest.

Très chouette auberge, eau chaude, lits confortables avec prises. Plusieurs lieux communs pour se poser. Le petit déjeuner est très bon et l’ambiance est très sympa

One of my favorite hostels! Not social/party at all, but they have EVERYTHING for a perfect stay, kitchen, bar, super friendly staff, tons of chill areas, terrace, beautiful location, hot showers, spacious rooms, and sooo many DELICIOUS breakfast options 😍 Super clean too. They also have laundry and luggage storage before/after check-in/out. Stayed a week and would 100% come back. Loved it. Thank you!! 🙌

Bon rapport qualité prix. Mon seul point négatif serait que j'ai attendu 1h10 pour le déjeuner sans café ni rien pour attendre. Je ne reviendrai pas mais pour une nuit c'était parfait

El lugar es muy agradable. Su terraza es probablemente una de las cosas más geniales del lugar junto con la amabilidad del personal, deade alli podras ver los dos volcanes. En la noche tienes una vista al volcán de fuego, si prestas suficiente atención podrás verlo hacer erupcion. Los desayunos en general son muy ricos y puedes escoger entre 5 disponibles; lo hace muy único. Tienes disponible locker en dormitorio con muy buen espacio. Recomiendo tener un candado grande.

I stayed in a female dorm but they kept moving men into the room— frankly defeats the purpose of a female room. Beds are comfy, shower was extremely mid, low water pressure, squirts to the right, but hot sometimes. Breakfast was good. They have a tour guide onsite who is really fun. And amazing location! Seth the volunteer needs to be put on payroll and a RAISE! He’s amazing, helpful and so hard working. Also met some cool friends here.

Just voluntaries working, all kinda Strange, activities but no people going there

I really liked this place. The included breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable enough and had privacy curtains. The showers had nice hot water. Laundry was a fair price. And I was able to leave my bag there overnight while on the acatenango hike. The staff were nice as well. My favorite part was probably all the hammocks around the courtyard, although the rooftop with views of agua, fuego and acatenango was pretty great too

The staff were amazing. Definitely worth the price. The terrace adds so much. You have a great view of Fuego erupting at night. Such a cute hostel
