Very nice and helpful owner. Spacious room and balcony. If you are going solo they might give you a not so clean room.

Avalon house is a good place where you can stay for a night or two. the owner knows where to get a direct public bus to the airport for 30 NRP, the station is 2 min walk away. the terrace is nice but don't expect a gathering there like in a hostel or so.

Lovely guesthouse. The rooms were clean and spacious with homely aspects such as a kettle and tea/coffee. Owners are very friendly and more than happy to help when asked. Location is fantastic you can be jn the heart of thamel in two minutes. Highly recommend!

The location is quite nice—slightly removed from the busy Thamel area, yet still just around the corner. As a solo traveler who didn’t want to stay in a dormitory, this was a great value-for-money option.

Tolle Unterkunft, sehr zentral, dennoch ruhig. Geräumiges, sauberes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht. Saput der Besitzer ist ein absolut freundlicher Mensch und hat immer ein Lächeln parat. Er hat mir einen zweitägigen Ausflug in den chitwan Nationalpark organisiert und für einen halben Tag einen Fahrer, der mich nach nargakot, bhaktapur und lalitpur gefahren hat. Einziges kleines Manko ist der schwache Wasserdruck bei warmen Wasser (mein Zimmer lag im dritten Stock). Weniger zum socializen geeign...

Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Beds are comfortable and clean. Lovely hot water for a shower and delicious breakfast. On a quiet street in Kathmandu. Only noise are dogs barking but you'll likely get that anywhere you go.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and clean, the showers were warm and the free breakfast (served on the rooftop with a great view of the city) was great. The owner was very nice and helped organize taxis and laundry.

I spent 4 nights at Avalon House before beginning a trek, and it was the perfect place to start to my trip - providing some much needed calm despite being so close to the busy Thamel district. My room was big, clean and quiet, with a comfy bed. A chilled breakfast on the balcony was also very welcome before heading into the city. Saput was very accommodating and flexible with check in and luggage storage. Thank you Saput and team for your kind welcome, and a restful stay 🧡

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and supported at Avalon House. It’s clean, quiet, and just steps from Thamel’s center but peaceful at night. Rooms are sunny with private bathrooms and hot showers anytime. The staff is kind and responsible. A perfect spot to rest, recharge, and feel at home. Highly recommended for women traveling alone! 🌼💛

Avalon House felt like home from the moment I arrived. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready with great local tips. The room was spotless and quiet, and the rooftop terrace was a lovely spot to unwind. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The location is very good, in the centre of Thamel but not a noisy part. The rooms are spacious, clean and with good wifi connection. There is a hot shower. Hotel has a beatufiul terrace and rooftop where you can sit and enjoy breakfast. I would recommend: good price, in the centre, clean and affordable rooms.

One of the best hotel with best price, hotel owner was too kind and helpful. You can have any information with him. They do have rooftop where you can hang your laundry and see the good views to the north with beautiful mountains.

The owner is very kind and open to any questions or suggestions. I wanted to change my room and he didn’t hesitate a moment to do it. The hotel is in a quiet street in Thamel and it’s near many attractions like the monkey temple and Durbar Mall. I would just improve the cleanliness of the rooms, but in general it’s a cool place to stay.

Good in general, good value for money. Great location. Just lacks a bit of social atmosphere.
