+ - Staff is friendly. - You can safely book day trips with them (even though they are more expensive). - Location is close to most of the things you'll want to see. - Room is spacious.

- - Too much pressure about leaving a good review. This should NEVER be asked, not even once. At least 10 times the owner asked to leave a positive feedback. Reviews should be honest and not forced. - The cleanliness is bad. I mean really bad, already when we arrived. They also did not clean our room for our entire stay, and we had to personally ask for new toilet paper and towels, despite the fact that we put out the sign to come and clean our room. - We booked two day trips (Bhaktapur and Nagarkot; Chandragiri) with a "guide" who was actually just a driver who did not speak English. - The room was different from the photos on booking. - Location is really noisy. - Wi-Fi is the worst I have ever used. - Breakfast was not good This is just a piece of information for those who like us asked but did not receive a clear answer: pick-up (outside 7am - 8pm) or drop-off at the airport costs $10

+ The location was in the middle of Thamel Street and close to a lot of restaurants and night life places. The staff helped me with conversion of currency in the best rates available outside too.

- I am not sure how Booking.com ratings for this property is this high! The place is in one of the most crowded areas of Kathmandu. At the first look it did not impress me. However when I stepped into the room, I was completely shocked with the rooms real outlook and the pics in booking.com. I could smell dust all around me, the floor was not cleaned properly and felt dusty too. I was promised of hot water which never came in the tap. The beds were extremely uncomfortable with the mattress activing weirdly with it's softness. The bathroom door did not have a lock and there was water leaking from all the possible taps and pipes. There was a leak out of the shower cubicle as well. I felt it more like a make shift facility rather than a hotel. Unless you want to enjoy the nightlife of Kathmandu and wanna crash in a nearby place, I would not recommend this property to anyone.

+ I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kathmandu Eco Hotel for 4 nights! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their warm, friendly, and professional behavior. Their approach to guest service was truly outstanding—always attentive, helpful, and ready with a smile. The hotel amenities exceeded my expectations, offering everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. My room was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. A special mention to the housekeeping team, who did a fantastic job every day—everything was spotless and perfectly organized. Overall, my experience was excellent. The combination of great service, comfortable facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere made my stay memorable. I would highly recommend Kathmandu Eco Hotel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely choose to stay here again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

+ Sehr hilfsbereites Personal, wir sind mit Magenproblemen angekommen und uns wurde Taxi zum Privaten Krankenhaus bestellt wo wir schnell und gut behandelt wurden. Auch später wurde auf all Wünsche eingegangen. Danke für den netten Aufenthalt 🙏🏻

+ Excellent location, a bit old furniture but staff is the greatest asset. Very helpful in anything you need (including laundry service) and always with a smile.

- WiFi is weak at the higher floors but I was moved to a lower one where it was OK.

+ Very centrally located, clean room and nice staff. They helped with airport pickup and very late check-in as well.

+ Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam, niets was ze teveel. Je wordt verwelkomd als familie. Of je een taxi nodig hebt of een stekker voor je telefoon, ze denken over alles mee. Heel fijn!

+ Delicious Breakfast, location is super good, just exactly in the middle of Thamel, where benefit for shopping, and the personal are all super friendly.

+ I had a wonderful stay at Kathmandu Eco Hotel and would happily give it five stars. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with a genuine smile. I am especially thankful to the check in team, the breakfast team, and Bimal for making me feel so welcome throughout my stay. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, a great way to start each day. Due to some unexpected changes in my trip, I had to cancel part of my stay, and the team handled everything with understanding and professionalism. A special thank you to Bimal for making a stressful situation much easier. Thank you again to the entire team for such a pleasant experience. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu.
