Luz en el Cielo Eco-B&B/Hostel

Way too expensive for what it is. My bed had bedbugs and stained sheets. Didn’t look anything like the pictures here on hostelworld. Staff were super nice and incredible but hostel was not worth the £18 for a tight shared dorm with a fan that didn’t work and very loud road noise with lorries. Music downstairs was annoying and a bit too loud and one of the hobs in the kitchen just didn’t really work. Bathrooms were super nice and clean. Warning however is that it is in a jungle so terrible...

Well I ended up not actually staying here last min so there was no refund which is a total bummer. But I did stop by at a later date just to check it out. Looked clean and seemed somewhat renovated. There was a cool pool and a bartender. SUPER small dorm rooms though- felt very cramped. Seemed like a cool vibe tho and the desk guy was nice.

Nice location. But staff left really early in the day and my room was Way to hot and too many mosquitos so i Did not sleep for 2 days

J’ai réservé 5 nuits ici et je ne suis restée que 3 nuits (2 nuits payées pour rien). Je suis partie car je ne m’y sentais pas bien du fait du pire check in que je n’ai jamais eu. Un manque d’amabilité criante que le propriétaire a essayé de rattraper mais ayant été complètement rejetée le 1er soir j’ai préféré y rester le moins possible. Hormis cela, le lieu est conforme aux photos.

Lovely staff, great breakfast and refreshing pool! The rooms were a bit small, couldn’t really get all our backpacks in there. AC would be a much appreciated extra in the rooms, it was super hot. The location was great, only 5min from town!

Nicht das optimalste Backpacker Hostel weil es auch ein Hotel ist und viele Familien dort ihren Urlaub machen. Unser Dorm war die Hölle was Mücken anging. Da es sehr hoch gelegen ist, ist der Weg mit einem Einkauf nicht ganz so entspannt. Cool sind aber die Affen die überall durchs Hostel laufen und Abend die Waschbären gefüttert werden. Für uns war also das Mücken Problem das schlimmste.

It had friendly staff, good breakfast and great ambience. The only problem was it's location, at night the traffic soundandthelightsaround the hostel disturbs you a lot, as rooms have lots of openings

Buena localización, buena cocina, buenos baños, buenas zonas en común y limpieza general. Pero prepárate bien para los mosquitos, parece que aquí ni el repelente ni el enchufe anti mosquitos funciona y se cuelan por las separaciones de las maderas que forman las paredes.

Pros: - Free, served breakfast w/ wonderful service - Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. - Waking up to monkeys & everything you need at a walkable distance (grocery shops, tour agencies, bars, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, shopping areas etc.) Cons: - No AC - Uncomfortable bottom bunk, can’t even sit up properly to scoot out of bed or your head will smash into the upper bunk. - No events or community activities - The place feels like a hazard meant for hospital bills. Auberge sympa mais attention au bruit car elle se trouve juste au bord de la route principale (les photos sont trompeuses...). Je ne suis pas sûre de l'utilité de la piscine, la mer n'étant pas très loin. Je la trouve chère pour ce qu'elle est quand même. À noter aussi que le wifi ne marchait pas toujours très bien. Autrement les chambres et salle de bain sont bien, le petit déjeuner très bon et le personnel très accueillant et aidant.

Loved my stay here! The volunteers and staff were so friendly and kind when I arrived. It was very quiet when I arrived as not many guest appeared to be in, but everyone I did speak to was super friendly.I loved how the hostel is quite open to the elements (no proper windows-just mosquito nets). It was so nice to hear the waves and the jungle noises when going to sleep. The beds were comfy and the showers were hot. The cooked breakfast was also really tasty. I wish I had more than 2 nights here.

Booked for one night… stayed for three! My favourite hostel on my journey through Costa Rica so far. Have met some amazing people and the public areas make for a great social experience. Board games, books, communal cooking space. An amazing addition is breakfast is included and it’s very, very tasty breakfast. It also encourages engaging with your fellow travellers and I cannot fault this place. Absolutely love it. Thank you

Great spot! Lovely pool, and beautiful hotel surrounded by forest. Very clean and great value for money. Quieter hostel for the vibe, but very welcoming. The hostel is next to the road so can be loud with trucks, but I did not think this to be a big issue

I was in Costa Rica for 2 months and this was my favorite Hostel! Very chill, great place too relax just sourrounded by natue and the sounds of the jungle but only 3 minutes from the beach and town. Johnny and his staff are very nice and helpful.

Lovely staff, good breakfast, short walk to the beach and monkeys climbing around the pool- such a great hostel!! Def recommend

Had a great stay here for 3 nights!! Loved montezuma and the hostel. Very social atmosphere and feels like staying in a tree house :)

Great spot! Loved the location and energy.

Only stayed one night but enjoyed the pool and empanadas were amazing. 2 min walk into town and the owner was especially nice and was kind enough to offer me and my partner a ride to our next location which saved us a half hour of schlepping. Security was around at night until morning and breakfast was good as well.

Older crowd but overall a great hostel! Breakfast was good and staff are very nice. My only complaint is that there isn’t much space in the rooms to put stuff and showers don’t have racks to put stuff.

Great hostel, great location and very nice staff! iIt islocated at 3min walk uphill from the center of the small town of Montezuma. i enjoyed my stay, but definitely you need to follow the daylight cycle and co-live with nature. Sunlight and animal noises will be your daily friends. The city of Montezuma is way too chill ,so I used my short stay there to relax and enjoy nature and the wonderful beaches.
