Wouldn’t stay again. My “security” cage was unusable as it wouldn’t pull out from under the bed, the shower cut out after 20 secs, the common areas were dingy with no natural light, blank space on wall where mirror had been removed, breakfast was only cereal and toast (no fruit or anything else), bed was hard, stairs filthy, you had to walk through a bar to get to rooms, music from bar emanated to second floor. As one of only two hostels in town, they don’t seem to be trying very hard.

I had to cut my trip short after staying in Bru Hostel 1 night and experiencing a foul odor that was impossible to get rid of. I shared my experience with the front desk and decided to check out early as I had concerns the odor was impacting my health because I woke up feeling very sick. The front desk associate advised us to email [email protected] in order to share our concerns and request a refund. I have emailed bruhostel and they refuse to provide a refund

Breakfast option was lacking , even some fresh fruit would help. Considering prices charged. Clean and handy location for travellers. Kitchen facilities great but not a friendly area. You have a lack of choice in Cork so the price is the price.

Sketchy, uncomfortable, with a press-for-5-seconds-of-cold-water shower, and a crappy and barely existent breakfast. Would not recommend.

For safety it would have been no stars but l had to choose one, to write my review.I booked a female only dorm. During the night l became aware of some one in the room.l felt conscious but then went to sleep. In the morning l realised there was a man sleeping in the bed next to mine . This a small cramped room. I was very shocked!As a woman you prepare different for a mixed dorm. Photos could have been taken of me, l felt violated and l do not recommend the safety of this hostel.Breach of Trust.

Yeah I mean truly one of the dirtiest hostels I have stayed in. I got sick after the first night because of the mildew wet walls. The breakfest is nothing, just some white bread. Would rather have stayed further away and commuted into the city.

The room was dirty, damaged and the bathroom had mold in it. I'm used to sleeping in hostels, so I know you're not always going to like your roommates. However, there was a guy in my room who had his bed full of macdonalds waste, the smell was terrible, he was sleeping all day and around midnight he got more macdonalds and was eating and burping for at least 2 hours. The next morning the staff didn't understand the problem at all so I checked out a day early and went to Sheila's hostel.

Nous avons réservé une chambre avec 3 petits lits ( inscrit sur la réservation) . Au final nous avons eu une minuscule chambre numéro 104 près de la sortie de secours avec 2 lits ( 1 grand en bas et un petit superposé) avec poubelles devant la fenêtre et des plaques dans le couloir le long des murs destinés à la poubelle.

J'ai passé un moment formidable ! La localisation est parfaite, le personnel est tellement sympathique, les petits déjeuner tout à fait corrects, et le must c'est une très grande cuisine toute équipée, avec un espace commun assez spacieux pour manger. On y fait de belles rencontres dans une ambiance assez calme et reposante. Et pour ceux qui veulent plus d'énergie, il y a des concerts au bar tous les soirs, avec un open mic le lundi soir pour calleux qui veulent se lancer ! Je rec...

Friendly staff. The breakfast was really disappointing for the price that a night at this hostel costs. The rooms are old but functional. The location is great.

Très bonne expérience en général. Petit bémol sur la qualité du matelas et oreiller mais cela reste correct pour une expérience de quelques jours. Merci à vous !

I was ok my first experience one night in a fem bed all respectful but I didn't know that I have to stay another night I been in a lot of hostess diferentes parts of the world I mixed room and never see a men sleeping in boxers I pretty sure y was touching at night I coul hear and the bed it was moving it I was scared I didn't say anything bc I was a old man and my English is no so good I I was second day in the country but definitely a bad experience, the first night with the girls

Staff member screwed us over and gave us attitude when I showed him that I books for 3 beds and we only got 2. Bathroom was fine. Aside from that a decent stay.

I was a little frustrated with the services. I was expecting some better coffee and more choices for breakfast. The service was friendly but not as forthcoming about how to get more help with baggage and local restaurant options.

The hostel is cozy and the location is awesome, but the common area is just the bar downstairs, no kitchen or lounge, they chargef a premium, maybe because it was always full or the nfl game, either way to expensive for me that night.

An hostel, a place where you can sleep in a busy environment. Nothing more. Pricy for the service provided.

Great property- the look of the place is fantastic and the staff was incredible, especially when we encountered a less than hospitable other guest upon arrival. Really the drop of a star is focused on the showers being push button (took 4 runs to get to warm water).

Bar is their main business, hostel is just an afterthought. Easy access location but not the stairs to your rooms and no heating in the night. Private room is very small compared to others we've stayed.

Très bien situé. Personnel très accueillant et serviable. Résidents très respectueux et conviviaux. Excellente expérience pour une dame d’un âge certain.

On the bunk beds they have plastic mats that don't let any heat through instead of mattresses. One overheats by sleeping on those plastic surfaces and it really ruins one's sleep.

Was a really good hostel for the night! Everything was clean and the breakfast in the morning was yummy. Great location and the staff were super helpful with recommendations and super friendly

My main criticism is how unpractical everything was. Anytime you have to grab something from the cages under the beds for the luggages, you are completely blocking the way, so only one person at a time can grab their things. There was also no space whatsoever in the bathroom for personal items like clothes, shampoo bottles or soap, etc, so you have to balance things on hooks or put them on the wet floor. For everything else, it was quite alright and the price is fair.

Staff were very friendly and it was a bed to sleep in. Shower was weird and we felt crammed in our space. The door didn’t lock. Was clean
