This was by far the most expensive hostel we have stayed in to date with the worst facilities. Here's our experience; there is zero sound proofing. We could hear people having sex all night and snoring. the beds were filled with bed bugs, and the shower did not work. DO NOT stay here.
Coquerelle et lézard trouvés à l’intérieur. Vaisselle sale et presqu’aucun accessoire de cuisine pour se faire à manger. Poêlone plus qu’usée; « fini, inutilisable » serait les bons mots. Le bain et la douche étaient dans un état pitoyable. Je m’électrocutais lorsque je touchais, à l’aide d’un ustencil, au chaudron sur la cuisinière. Cockerel and lizard found inside. Tableware sold and almost no kitchen accessories to make yourself eat. Poelone more quused; finished, unusable would be the right words. The bath and shower were in a pitiful state. I electrocuted myself when I touched, with a utensil, the kettle on the stove. No air conditioning and a pay TV to add to it. Annoying to rent ca. The bed was made by the clean room person and the towels were changed and added.
I stayed one night, she place didn't feel clean (apart from the direct bedsheets which were) and it had quirks, I didn't appreciate but maybe that was the room I was in? It was small, towels were clean. Soap was so water down it was hard to use. The bed was so hard it was difficult to get comfortable. Outside men were working and coming to and from outside my patio door so after half an hour of them being able to see in the room I closed the curtains and had to keep them closed.
No estaba limpio, no funcionaban las luces de las mesitas y olía muchísimo a pintura y mucha humedad, un deshumificador vendría muy bien. El personal de recepcion nos atendió muy bien
It wasn't clean, the table lamps didn't work and it smelled like paint and humidity, a dehumidifier would be great.
AC didnt work the entire time we were there. Asked about it three times and then they kept saying tomorrow it would get fixed, but it never did so we gave up. They said they would get it up and running as quick as possible but didn’t even give us the remote back so don’t know if it ever started functioning.
Naja, mehr erhofft als es dann war, das Zimmer war super altmodisch eingerichtet und die Möbel haben nach altem Zigarettenrauch u.a. gerochen. Dementsprechend auch das ganze Zimmer beim reinkommen, den ganzen Tag lüften hat auch nichts gebracht. Das Fenster zum Hinterhof mit kaum Licht war ok, aber es hätte wohl besser gehen können. Im Bad waren erst zu wenig Handtücher und die Dusche war mehr pfui als hui. Es war wohl Wohnbar, aber bestimmt nicht nochmal!

Overall, the location and staff are the best part of this hostel. It’s much more a hotel than a proper hostel but it has a great location and a great staff. I would’ve rated this lower but Claudia from the front desk made my trip 10x better making my stay comfortable and setting me up with a fun itinerary. The location is prime too next to many restaurants and near the main part of town. The rooms are outdated and so are the showers. Also the breakfast is very underwhelming.
It’s a budget hotel. You get what you pay for. It’s not completely unbearable though. The AC didn’t work in my room, luckily it wasn’t too hot at night. The bathroom smelled really bad had to keep to the door closed at all times and windows open so it won’t smell throughout the whole room. Other than those two things it was fine. Staff was helpful and nice.
It’s what you get for the price. Definitely not a big social environment here, it’s just a cheap hotel essentially. Staff was really nice, the room was a little moldy and loud. Our rooms window opened up towards the street and cars would constantly come by making a ton of noise. Even when the window was closed any light sleeper would totally be woken up. Ear plugs are a must. Anyways in conclusion if you just need a cheap room this will do.

Hébergement tres correct, parfait pour juste y dormir. Décoration de grand mère mais bonne literie Bien placé . Je recommande.

J’ai loué une chambre pour une personne. Grande chambre avec cuisine et sdb. Tout est propre! Le seul reproche c’est que pour la période, il fait très froid car je n’ai pas trouvé de radiateurs dans cette chambre!
I rented a room for one person. big room with kitchen and sdb. everything is clean! the only drawback is that for the period, it is very cold because I did not find radiators in this room!

Hostel bien situé dans Funchal et satisfaisant au niveau de la propreté. Ils offrent un déjeuner à 7€ qui ne vaut pas le prix… L’air climatisé ne fonctionnait pas, mais au moins il y avait une fan (qui faisait beaucoup de bruit). Dans l’ensemble, très bien!

Super Hotel in guter Lage, es gibt eine schöne Dachterrasse. Im Badezimmer hat es nach Kanalisation gerochen…

Très bon séjour, hôtel idéalement situé dans le coeur de Funchal. Chambre bien, quoiqu'un peu sombre et odeur de renfermé

This place is fine. It does what is expected for budget facility. I would return. Clean, very good location, dutiful ~ absolutely ordinary hotel.
This place really isn’t a hostel in my view, it’s short term tourist apartments. There are no activities, common spaces (besides a roof in one building), so you’re basically on your own. I think it’s fine for couples or groups but totally not the move for solo travelers. The apartments are nice, the private bathroom is nice, it was a bit warm and smelled old though. If you’re looking to meet anyone outside your group, I do not recommend staying here, there are other hostels on the isla...
I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable but clean, safe, and centrally located little hotel in Madeira! The bedding and bathroom was very clean, the staff was friendly, and I overall had a great stay. The rooms are not huge or anything particularly special, but for the affordable price it is a really great option. I loved the location in the center of town surrounded by many restaurants and shops- and only a few blocks from the water!
