Super expensive for what’s at offer (not even bfast). The social scene is dead, no one hangs out in the tiny common room, no activities or excursions. Only 2 toilet stalls per gender, for 40 ppl? Inconvenient location, nasty couches, no in bed amenities like a fan or a light, just one plug. No baggage locker, you have to take out all your “important” stuff and put it in a small safe that is right above your head, that you might hit the corner of when waking up, very small unsafe open bagga...

Booked for five nights and left after 1. Behaviour of multiple different guests in the room was terrible. People were talking on the phone at 2am, multiple people eating chips throughout the night, people leaving their lights on for hours, leaving their suitcases in the small walkway between the beds instead of the luggage area. Biggest issue is the curtains over the beds are completely transparent, they do not block light or offer privacy.

This property is a 0 - it is not a real hostel now - it is an abandoned building. Do not go.

Room was nice and clean, no atmosphere though and not on HK island so needed to take the metro everywhere. Not worth the price imo. Also the hkd 100 key deposit is extortionate!

Prima hostel, helaas weinig sfeer

The fact that there is a curtain that doesn't even block the light is completely useless - what's the point of a curtain then? also no reminder of basic rules in a hostel, people turned their bed lights on at all times of the night and of course the curtain doesn't block it. There is no space anywhere to put your belongings in the dorm so there was suitcases everywhere, and was very dangerous with a suitcase under ladders to go up the top bunk. team was nice but overall can't rate this more

Rooms were tiny and the blinds were see through on the beds so if anyone had their own light on it lit the whole room up. Good location with easy access to buses and the airport.

Extremely unsocial hostel. Don’t go here if you are traveling alone. Beds are good tho.

The blinds for the beds are see through when the lights are on, this is really uncomfortable for the people able to see you in your bed but also means there is no privacy while staying at the hostel. The bathrooms felt dirty and there was weird crystal mould growing in the shower. Kitchen area was fine but very hot. Staff were helpful.

i had an ok stay here. there is a common space so it is nice to be able to meet other travelers. the rooms had a/c so it was comfortable to sleep, but i did get eaten alive by a mosquito and noticed a rogue roach in my bed space. there wasn't any where to lock up your luggage, so that felt a bit strange. my main issue was the location. while HK is well connected, it is quite far from the hot spots in the city. it takes about 30 minutes to get to where you want and luckily there is a night bus th...

This hostel is a bit out of the main tourist areas but it’s close to MTR and bus so easy to get around although your travel time will be longer. It’s got a nice lounge space with a quiet but friendly vibe. A small fridge and microwave are handy. Beds are very comfortable! I found it odd that the bathrooms in the corridor only have curtains rather than doors (there are stall doors though) and the door to the bathroom in the female dorm is so stiff it’s unusable. Overall great hostel. Super clean, feels pretty much like a premium hostel. Facilities are great. The rooms are just bit small with luggage but really not that big of an issue

I had a very good stay at the Mahjong. The beds are comfortable and each has a dedicated light, outlets, and a safe. The room and safe are accessed by keycard and the front entrance has a code (changed weekly). Room cleanliness is dependent on the guests, but this hostel maintains the environment by asking guests to not wear shoes in the rooms and slippers are provided. The common areas are swept and mopped every morning. The closest MTR stop is a 5 minute walk. Lots of food options nearby.

Highly recommend. Lovely staff, nice private pod bunks, easy to get to places with public transport, and a very reasonable price.

I liked the stay at Mahjong. Staff was friendly and helpful, good location.

Everything good for Hong Kong standards. Felt clean and front desk were very good. Only thing to note is that their front desk is not 24/7

Great hostel, especially if you are looking for a quiet place to stay! It is super clean, the staff is very friendly, and the dorm was quiet and tidy. I especially liked the lounge, which tended to also be quiet and was a great place to get some work done (fast Wifi, lots of plug-ins, and free coffee). It's a short bus ride away from attractions, but the bus system worked super reliably, and the hostel offers a bus card too. So definitely doable! All in all I would highly recommend this place.

Very clean and tidy especially in the room and bathrooms. Great view of the city when you’re sitting the common area. It’s a bit further from downtown, but there are plenty of public transit options around taking around 15-20min. Great place to stay if you’re looking for something quieter. Would recommend and stay there again!

Es war sauber, der Check-in und out einfach. Personal war freundlich. Die Lage ist ok, wenn man jedoch ausgehen möchte am Abend spielt sich auf der anderen Seite auf HongKong Island mehr ab. Sozial war es leider nicht, kam mit keinem wirklich ins Gespräch und ich rede gern und viel 😅

Staff were great and the hostel is well located to bus and Kowloon activities. I found the mattress old and uncomfortable and the pillows were not clean. I love the no shoes in dorms rule and handy that there were 2 showers and separate toilets in the female dorm. The 'privacy' blinds were a bit redundant as they let all the light out if another dormer had their light on and the tube lights were very bright.

Ok stay. Nice staff. Bu you don’t get what you pay for. Would choose it over Check Inn Hostel though ;)

Sehr sauber und ordentlich. Die Betten waren etwas hart. Das Personal ist super freundlich. Die Lage ist etwas ausserhalb.

Staff were super lovely and helpful and hostel location was in what a very authentic residential part of Kowloon. Not too far from the metro or bus lines to and from the airport.

A good hostel for Hong Kong. It's not in a central location, but it's easy to grab public transport to wherever you'd like to go. There was filtered water, but not cold. Free coffee in the morning, though not early enough for me to partake. Quiet, which is what I was looking for.

Overall, the property was good although I felt that maybe it wasn’t the most social and no events were held. Very nice experience though

Really good hostel. Pod-style beds which were comfy and private with a blind. I stayed in a 10-bed and it definitely didn’t feel like it. Showers and toilets were good. Staff were lovely and gave a tour of the hostel on arrival. I didn’t use the common room so can’t comment on the social aspect, but people were sat in there. Free tea and coffee. No lockers for large bags, just a small safe for valuables.
