Bedbug infested place, don't go! When we showed them the photo of the bedbug with blood that I found in my bed, they said they had no idea there were bedbugs. But honestly, if you find a bedbug of this size in the morning during daylight, the whole place must be full of it and they must know. They said they would reimburse us fully but they only paid back half and then didn't respond to our emails anymore.

The staff are people with a handicap and it just doesn't work. these people are programmed for one task and have no flexibility of what soever. They only speak Spanish, so communication in English is not possible. During our stay there were bedbugs in two of the rooms above the restaurant!!! The hostel is in the mountains, so taking your luggage from the train to the hostel station is quite the challenge! The management does not understand what vegetarian means. (They think it is ok to serve just rice and vegetables. Most of the days there was no proteins at all) For the people that do eat meat/fish the food wasn't much better. It was very bad actually. There were always weird things like pieces of sausage mixed in the potato salad (even though you would get fish on the side) and there was tuna mixed in almost every salad (?!). Besides from some salt I doubt they used herbs/spices. The room and bathroom were clean. However, the cleaning crew was a bit too eager to clean our 'garbage'. They took our empty water bottles and threw them out, while we were planning to refill them and they were not in or near the trashcan. There was supposed to be free WiFi. There wasn't. (At least not in the reception building). There is no air-conditioning, but there were fans on the ceiling. They were old and making much noise. When I told someone from maintenance that one of the fans was broken he said he was aware of it and did not fix it. The fans and open windows were sufficient to cool the room down at night.

Slept there for 3 nights in total. We stayed in a mix dorm. Had our own car and the drive up was okay. Location of hostel was good with train station just below. I believe the hostel is supporting a social cause and we were very glad to book here. That's where the positives end. The bed was full of bugs or dirt (did not know which one) me and 2 of my friends that stayed there ended up with bug bites on our entire hand and leg. We changed room midway but we ended up with more bites daily that were itchy. -- can ask me for pictures. (we researched via internet and found out it could be hives triggered by the bed bugs -- it has been 5 days and we are still itching from it) Do recommend people to pay a bit more and stay in central Barcelona. Do NOT stay here.
