Playa del Ritmo

You really pay for the beach because the rest is not great. The kitchen is really dirty, the bathroom in our room too, no locker in the room. I had 5 massive nail popping out of the bed near my head, I asked to change rooms cause I would have been dangerous for me hitting my head on those in the night. It's super isolated and there is no shop close by, you have to walk for 25min. The beach is nice and the staff is great and really helpful! The hostel just need some love in the commodities.

Overall facilities are pretty run down and need maintenance so the value isn’t there. Power went out for a full day while there and shower had hardly any water pressure. Beds a bit uncomfy. Location is good for right on the beach but ~25 mins taxi from town. It seemed like pretty much everyone staying there was either a local or family so there wasn’t much of a social vibe especially at night. Staff were overall nice and food from the restaurant was delicious. Lots of cute cats and dogs too.

I wanted to stay close to the airport as I had a flight to catch, and wanted to enjoy the beach the day before my flight. I definitely did. The hostel was nice, there are no actual windows in the dorm which means you can hear everything. Not recommended for light sleepers. Earplugs helped me. Reception staff was warm, restaurant staff a bit less. Food was fine, lots of veggie options. I enjoyed my stay here, loves the bohemian vibe and the many dogs, cats, the beach. P/Q is medium.

stay here if your priority is being right on the beach. PROS: its on the beach, good breakfast. CONS: door always unlocked; no lockers in rooms, only small lockers in lobby, so small you cant fit a backpack. no curtains on the windows, so you get bright sunlight from very early. tiny fridge in kitchen always crammed so its hard to store anything. they will not allow late checkout, i just asked to checkout at 1pm instead of 11am, the answer was i would have to pay an extra night

There weren’t a lot of backpackers so not much of a vibe. Beaches were okay but not the most beautiful and other than chairs there weren’t much places where you could chill like hammocks

Conveniently right by the beach. I wouldn't stay here teaveling solo again. I didn't feel safe by myself. There wasn't a lot to do or participate in. Mostly families and couples staying here. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Good hostel if you want to avoid the dump that is Santa Marta. Definitely very beachy, access to a decent enough beach and the prices are pretty fair actually. Can’t complain

El mejor lugar para descansar, es un lugar único, que privilegio haberme hospedado nuevamente, es mi tercera vez y espero ir antes de su cierre final, los extrañaré enormemente, son un lugar simplemente espectacular. No lo piensen, si tienen la posibilidad de ir vayan!

Great hostel right next to the beach, the beach bar is super delicious, great place if you want to improve your Spanish as mostly local Colombian travellers stay there, no international atmosphere

Excelente Hostal. Directo a la mejor playa en la region de Santa Marta. Se puede escuchar las olas del mar cuando se despierta. Todo muy limpio con aseo cada día. El personal también súper amable y la comida del restaurante muy rico. Muy recomendable!

Beautiful location!! Such a sweet stay and kept noticing how great access was to the water. I hope they’re able to maintain this spot and resist all the resort development 🙏🏼 great food - kind service

Es un lugar que está muy bien ubicado, dónde se puede disfrutar de la playa, en un lugar tranquilo. Muy recomendable.

Ein solides Hostel wo es sich durchaus aushalten lässt. Superfreundliches Personal an der Rezeption. Ich hatte kein Schloss für den Locker, konnte mir aber eins ausleihen. Das Frühstück ist gut und der Kaffee großartig. Am Abend wird Feuer gemacht, was ich nett fand. Cool ist außerdem, dass da einfach Iguanas rumlaufen :D

Buen lugar. Un poco lejos de la ciudad pero cerca de la playa. Depende de qué quieras estar más cerca

Really good Location with a beautiful sunset, perfect for a night or two if you are flying in or out of Santa Marta. De dorms are okay, not a lot of privacy.
