+ The Hotel facility was extremely clean and neat. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was heartwarming. The GM.spending time with Guest was a bonus.

+ Loloata Island Resort is visually spectacular. The setting is breathtaking and the food across all meals was consistently exceptional—delicious, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. However, despite the high-end promise, it’s the operational inconsistencies and lack of service cohesion that undermine what could be a true five-star experience. Loloata has all the ingredients to become a truly world-class destination. The location is unbeatable, and the food is superb. But to reach its potential, operational standards, training, and service execution must be lifted to international benchmarks. With the right investment in staff development and managerial oversight, it could easily achieve consistent five-star delivery.

- Upon check-in, I was disappointed to find my room's air conditioning unit leaking, damaging the wall. More concerning were visible blood stains—one on the wall, another on the sideboard, and two on a decorative pillow. I raised this immediately with reception, providing photographic evidence. To their credit, the front desk team responded with urgency, genuine concern, and exceptional hospitality by upgrading my room at no cost. Their response was professional and deeply appreciated. Unfortunately, the same level of service consistency was not reflected across the dining experience. At lunch, I ordered a “double cheeseburger” from the menu, only to be served a single patty. When I queried it, staff informed me the term referred only to double cheese. This was misleading and acknowledged as such by the food and beverage manager, who agreed the menu needed correction. At dinner, a curry was served without the accompanying naan bread. I was told there would be a 15-minute wait for the bread—after my meal had already arrived. On the following night, my main course was served over 10 minutes before the Caesar salad intended to accompany it. These are not major failures in isolation, but together, they reflect a systemic issue: the service delivery does not yet match the standard of the resort’s physical assets or kitchen quality. To be clear: the staff were polite, immaculately presented, and clearly doing their best. But the execution—timing, communication, and attention to detail—felt more like a 2 to 3-star operation in a 4-star environment.

- Rubbish not removed, toiletries were not provided like toothpaste & brushes, towels supplied were only for one guest instead of two. I asked the housekeeping lady why was that and she said the stocks ran out. The quality is dropping. TV channels kept freezing.

- The Food was not very good. The pizza was terrible. They used the wrong cheese. The menu needs an overhaul/improvement. This is supposed to be a resort so the food should be top notch. For the asking price for the food at least the portions should be bigger and taste good.

+ Beautiful location and very peaceful compared to the city. Rooms are great. Well worth a bit of time on the island to chill out. Port Moresby doesn't have anywhere similar. Staff always friendly and helpful. Sometimes a little slow in replying to messages but otherwise they were great.

- There's nothing to dislike really. I would like to see some historical pics around the place, just to show the history there as some of us remember its humble beginnings and this would give the huge reception area a lithle more "soul".

+ Location was excellent. The island feels very safe and secure with a lovely walking track to get some exercise as well as an outdoor gym. Having diving onsite was a real bonus. The transfer and ferry were pretty easy (the transfer was a little late but got sorted in the end) The staff, particularly Paul and Beverly in the restaurant were easy to deal with and quite helpful. Pool and surrounds pretty decent too. The room was comfortable and pleasant to stay in.

- The AC in the room we slept in was horrible. Not cold especially after our walks around the resort, had to cool off outside before going into the room just so we could feel less hot.
