Tamarindo Beach Hostel

We booked the hostel cause it was the cheapest one, and on arrival they were forcing us into paying a lot more then what it said on hostelworld. We wanted to leave for another hostel because thats not what we came there for and for that price we could have gotten a nicer place in the center. Then they said they were going to charge us for that night if we cancel the booking so we were forced to pay more. Do not recommend

Je vous conseille de confirmer votre réservation avant d'arriver car même en ayant reservé une semaine à l'avance et en ayant réalisé le check-in online, on nous a annoncé en arrivant qu'ils ne trouvaient pas notre réservation et qu'ils étaient complets pour la nuit. Nous avons dû trouver un autre hostal en urgence à 19h pour passer la nuit. En général, je ne recommande pas du tout l'hostel, très désorganisé et n'avait pas l'air de bonne qualité même sans y avoir passé la nui...

No lo recomiendo para nada, es mejor quedarse en un hotel dentro de la ciudad, no les recomiendo este hostal, no pierdan su plata

The appartement is located very far from the « hostal », on top of a very dangerous stair. We really didn’t feel safe when we arrived it’s very apart from the town and the worst part is that you have to take the only road going from Santa Marta to Taganga by walking on the side lane to get in the town and of course there is no light for the night. Realicé la reservación con anticipación, aprovechando la tarifa que se ofrecía de 5000 COP por noche en habitación compartida. Para confirmar la tarifa, me comuniqué via telefónica y por mensaje a través de la plataforma de Hostel world y no recibí respuesta. Cuando llegué al lugar, después de un largo viaje y sin ninguna otra reserva, me dijeron que todo era una equivocación de Hostelworld, por que la tarifa era 70000 COP y que sino la cancelaba no podía pasar la noche allí. +ve: very friendly staff, amazing view, free breakfast, air con, refillable water -ve: incorrect contact details online and no one responds, 216 steps and very steep hills up to the apartmen (don’t book if you can’t carrry your stuff up), other guests surrounding our room and balcony so no privacy and very noising waking us up constantly, no blind or curtains on the windows, kitchen facilities not clean, hob was wonky so pans slipped off, and missing basics (e.g. chopping board)

pretty dirty, but also kind of cool cuz i was the only one there. if you go just bring soap and expect a dirty bathroom.

Very nice people at the hostel and were very helpful with any questions we had. I will say... our room was pretty dirty and the pictures and not what they seem.

Nice place to stay! Very noisy if you were in a dorm or one of the “non apartment” rooms. The apartment room was below the main area so still a bit noisy but not too bad. The treehouse rooms are rickety and move, are hot, small, and so noisy as they play music all day and night. At the top of a very steep hill and a bit out of the center but only a 5-10 minute walk! Staff was super sweet and breakfast was good! Not nearly enough bathrooms- absolutely always waiting in line for one at all tim...
