   Shocked when I heard staff offerers freebies for 5 star review on Google! Obviously that place not deserves even 3 stars. Black mold on walls and smelling like dirty toilet at most part of the hostel. My room was super overpriced for the poor quality. I heard from another person staying that he saw people doing drugs here on a regular basis. STAY AWAY! WASTE OF MONEY.

   Very clean and modern rooms and facilities, cool bar, fast food in the hostel in the evenings. Lockers are pay as you go and unfortunately quite expensive, otherwise 5 stars.

   I stayed at Generator Hostel but had a disappointing experience regarding their customer service. I had to check out earlier than planned, and a staff member at the front desk assured me that I would be refunded for the unused nights. Based on this, I left early, trusting their word. However, after following up, I was informed that the booking was non-refundable, and they refused to honor the verbal promise given to me. While I understand the non-refundable policy, being assured of a refund in person only to be denied later was frustrating and unprofessional. The hostel itself is well-located, and the facilities were decent, but this lack of accountability left me with a negative impression. I would advise future guests to double-check any promises made at the front desk to avoid similar issues.

   Great little hostel in a prime location! Staff were welcoming and helpful! The rooms were good! You get what you pay for, albeit a little small and cramped and very hot, even with windows open. The lockbox was good to have and easy to use, good peace of mind for our belongings. Lifts to accommodation can only be used by guests with a key, so very secure and private. Showers and facilities were relatively clean, not perfect, but certainly nowhere near as bad as some reviews claim! Shuffle Board bar was a little pricey. Discounted drinks for guests would've been a nice addition, same for the games/activities. The atmosphere was great though and there are evening activities / live music every day of the week! Breakfast was ok. You dont get much for the €10, and the buffet was a little lack lustre, but the mini irish breakfast was good quality and tasty. All in all, a decent hostel in a prime location for exploring Dublin! Would definitely book again,

   Overpriced and with many extra costs (towel, plug adapter, lock...) No kitchen for guests and the breakfast is not included... And yes, of course you can carry your own towel, plug adapter and lock, but after paying more than 55€ per night in a shared 6 bed room you also can expect all those basics to be provided by the hostel (like many other hostels in the world do for a much cheaper night fee)... By the way shampoo/shower gel is not provided and there are no paper towels in the bathroom either... Food or drinks from outside are not allowed and the bar downstairs is overpriced too... And the check out is at 10 am but after you have very expensive paid lockers if you need to store your luggage;)! Update: i followed their survey (sent by email) and I felt played when I discovered that it seems to be linked to tripadvisor rating system and what is worst, even that I was being very critical and giving mostly very low general rates of 1 (except for staff that I gave 5) in the end they said that my rating was 3 of 5!!!... No they only treat the guest like a wallet to be squeezed but they also get fake reviews from you?
