There's no kitchen, so you can't prepare your own meals which means you do have to pay for dinner at the onsite cafe/restaurant. this was manageable though with the easy walk into town to get food there as well

I wouldn’t go again. No hand soap in the bathroom is nasty. Saw bugs in the room (not bed bugs, I hope). Breakfast is included, which is nice, but the only vegan thing was a fruit salad. I asked the staff about vegan options and they were a little rude and unhelpful, they didn’t even understand what vegan means (told me to have yoghurt and cheese).

Our 6 bed dorm was clean, but extremely hot due to poor ventilation and no fan/AC. To make matters worse, one of our room mates fiercely scratched himself all night - and we mean ALL night, which made us a little paranoid and worried about bed bugs. When I mentioned it to the skinny man at reception, he was completely rude, defensive, dismissive and condescending, and didn't even ask which room I was staying in. It wasn't until my boyfriend went back and spoke to him that he seemed to listen - however still never asked which bed the itchy guy was assigned to.. so not entirely sure how they were going to 'thoroughly clean' that bed. This worried us, as clearly this hostel does not take hygiene seriously and in turn, we were certainly glad to check out that day. Bathrooms were clean, however the shower temperatures would fluctuate continuously. Location was great - we really loved our surroundings. Yes, it was a little uphill hike into town, but truly a walker's paradise in every direction. Based on our overall experience, we would not return.

bedbugs and way to hot in our room, we couldn't sleep till 3 am. We had to get up at 8 am because the breakfast would be closed at 9 am. so we had a pretty short uncomfortable night. the security could only speak french and was very unfriendly. due to the bedbugs I had to decontaminate all my luggage, which is a lot of effort for a uncomfortable short night for €25,-. The hostel also had a general unpersonal feel, where you wouldn't go to meet people. It was also inconvenient that we couldn't reserve by phone but had to reserve by e-mail. The good aspects were the price relative to other Luxembourgian accommodations, the parking was free and next to the hostel, the hostel had a modern look and the location was good.

Le cadre de vallee fluviale est la raison la plus claire de reserver Youth hostel Luxembourg : l'auberge est dans une poche verte et calme sous la ville, avec le vieux centre accessible a pied si les collines et escaliers ne vous derangent pas. Les arrets de bus sont proches une fois remonte, et les transports publics gratuits du Luxembourg rendent les trajets aeroport et gare plus faciles. A l'interieur, c'est plus basecamp pratique que moteur de chaos social. Il y a un grand salon, des jeux, un bar, un restaurant, une terrasse ensoleillee et le petit-dejeuner inclus. La nourriture du Melting Pot et les diners abordables peuvent etre un vrai plus, surtout dans une ville chere. Une consigne apres checkout peut etre disponible, et les casiers demandent votre propre cadenas ou une location avec caution. Les dortoirs sont depouilles : souvent petits, avec couchettes sans rideaux, matelas ou oreillers fins dans certaines chambres, et linge de lit remis pour faire son lit soi-meme. L'auberge peut marcher pour une escale pas chere au Luxembourg, mais ce n'est pas l'endroit pour attendre confort poli, grosse atmosphere ou beaucoup d'aide pour lisser le chaos de dortoir.

- Le petit-dejeuner est inclus mais basique, avec variete limitee et horaires matinaux.
- Il n'y a pas de cuisine self-service, et des basiques comme savon, serviettes, produits de toilette et cadenas peuvent ne pas etre inclus.
