Mad Monkey Siquijor

Poor location, very remote. Would recommend getting something closer to the south-west of the Island. The pool looked dirty. The bathroom was not clean, and the windows on the room wouldn’t close, so we heard the loud music from the bar all the time. Also the beds didn’t have a spot to store you phone/charger etc, so if you put your stuff down they could fall to the bottom bunk or to the floor. 3 hours after we checked in we decided to leave and go somewhre else. They would not compensate us

We are travelling for 4 weeks and this was the worst hostel. Not clean. terrible shower (ice cold or boiling hot) and very bad location, far away from the city and thereby tuktuks were very expensive compared to other islands. We were staying in 7 hostels before and this was the only one we would not recommend!

We hebben hier echt vreselijke dagen gehad… de locatie was mega ver weg, we gingen ‘s nachts naar het hostel terug met de scooter en we voelde ons heel erg onveilig. Het zwembad was gesloten op de dagen dat wij er waren, er was niemand in het hostel dus er was ook geen gezelligheid. De badkamer stonk en de bedden lagen niet lekker.

In 10 years as a nomad, by far the worst hostel ever, avoid at all cost. The bunkbed shake so much, no proper wall, so the room is full of light, cigarette smoke and insects. The toilet is awful. Wish to be able to give 0 star.

L’auberge est très mal placé à Siquijor (30 minutes de tuktuk des restaurants et plages). Les lits grinçaient VRAIMENT, la musique est super forte et de très mauvais goûts, c’est beauf. Personnel gentil par contre :)

I booked a 14 bed room and they wanted to give me a 26 bed room and said nothing else was available. They changed the price for me about 100 times. After an hour of discussion there was suddenly a bed available in a 14 bed room ?!? Felt really ripped off. The hostel is in the middle of nowhere and people have sex in the dorms. Terrible stay

The first Mad Monkey we were really disappointed with! Because we wanted a bit more privacy we booked a four person room. Unfortunately it was by the pool and bar which made it really noisy. The thatched walls don't block out any sound which makes you feel like you're in the middle of a party. We had 3 terrible nights with hardly any sleep. We couldn't find the security, which I don't think is the intention in a party hostel. There wasn't much food on the menu which limited the choice.

Soooooo far away you will end up spending an arm and a leg on tuk tuks and food in the hostel don’t book this mad monkey

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in. It is in the middle of nowhere and will cost you a million $ to get into town each time to do any activity. They have 0 atmosphere (seriously, there’s no one here) but they insist on blasting the most awful music till 1 in the morning. The only place to eat is the restaurant and the food is terrible & triple the price of anywhere else. They also charged me double for my stay and refused to refund me after I sent them multiple emails. Truly terrible. Run!

Meh location, music too loud cant really talk, and it went on till 2am which is pretty ridiculous but hey, issa mad monkey

I loved my stay at Mad monkey Siquijor for many reasons such as the good location with it being quite central between beautiful beaches, rope swings, waterfalls and amazing scenery. The hostel itself had such a welcoming vibe, one reason for this is the amazing staff who work their hardest to make sure each guest has fun. Big thanks to Anton and Caitlin the two reps who made each day so much fun and welcomed me in very nicely. Another thanks to Daisy, Renz, Louise, Chrislyn, Clive and Hanily.

Top Tier place for any Backpackers that are down to have a good time. Feels very high quality & clean, and still has cheap prices. Had excellent customer service, espsecially Daisy. Would come back for sure

My and my friend really liked it, really clean and cozy, we made a couple of friends, thanks to the staff and Caintlin and Anton. It was amazing!

I wouldn’t stay here again. The wifi dropped out and it was the middle of no where so I had no signal/service which was really annoying. There was also barely anyone here when I went - I was in a 14 bed mixed dorm and there was only 4 people staying there… and 2 were reps. You needed a scooter to be able to get anywhere otherwise it gets really expensive getting into the main town. The bathrooms really smelled and you could hear the loud music in your room.

A big thank you to Daisy and all the staff at mad monkey for making our stay such a great one. The bar staff were great - Leo, Boi, and the rest of the crew were quick with the drinks and made them very tasty. The energy was high and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend staying here if you want good company and friendly staff. Thanks again mad monkey!

Super great stay at Mad Monkey Siquijor with an awesome social vibe and friendly staff. Daisy was especially sweet and really made the experience even better. The volunteers were also amazing and made it super easy to be there as a solo traveler. However, the beds weren’t the best, and I actually ended up with back pain.

The country side tour was brilliant definitely worth doing can explore the whole island! Staff were incredible at organising. Big shout out too daisy and Marco who made it more fun and brought everyone together!

We had a great time, location wasn’t great and WiFi not working majority of time but Daisy (Guest experience) and Marco still managed to make our stay very fun with games and tours! All the general staff were very lovely as well !

Had a great time at this hostel, the rooms had everything you needed, the staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful especially daisy!! Pool was good for a chill day and the bar crawl and food were superb aswell 🙌🏼

Had a great stay at Mad Monkey! It’s a bit far from restaurants and bars, but close to many local attractions, so it didn’t bother me at all, you will just need to rent a scooter. The place is perfect to chill and meet people. Special shoutout to Daisy & Tia for making my stay the best it could be. Actually, all the staff are super friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here! :)

Great pool and good food, the beds were comfy

The worst mad monkey I’ve been to. Pool was fun that’s the only good thing. ‘Upgraded’ to a better dorm but it was not like the photos and needed an update. It was very quiet which isn’t hostels fault, but all staff other than Daisy were miserable, rude and unhelpful, the room leaked in a storm and they refused to move people into one of the many empty dorms. Food was subpar and expensive, location is so bad nothing around so you have to eat there, pub crawl was waste of money. Stay in...

I had the best time here the staff were amazing and very helpful, the atmosphere was great and the activities were so fun especially the pub crawls! Location is great for being in the middle of all the main attractions. The food was amazing and the rooms are great value for money and clean!!

No issues with staff or cleanliness. Be aware of the location before booking. If you plan to be in San Juan often and you can’t ride a moped well don’t stay here. There is no atmosphere around the hostel, they play loud music all day into the night but it doesn’t create a vibe, probably the opposite. Better music might help rather than blasting Bruno Mars from 8am. No good chill areas other than 3 beanbags sat on some steps

Location was great for doing activities during the day, atmosphere in the bar was good at night and the staff were very kind. Few issues with the wifi but was nice to get off my phone

- Service schlecht, man bekommt selten das was man bestellt - Mitarbeiter geben keine Rücksicht auf Gäste, sind früh am morgen laut und strahlen eine unfreundliche Atmosphäre aus - Betten laut und unbequem - Abflüsse stinken ekelhaft - WLAN funktionierte nur 10% der Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes - Personal der Abendprogrammplanung strahlen die schlechteste Laune aller aus >> jeder Gas hat mehr positive Energie ausgestrahlt

En trevlig vistelse på Mad monkey där Daisy var en stor del till att vi hade det så bra. Alltid ett leende på läpparna! Ligger lite för off från restauranger och nattliv, vilket vi inte hade något emot. Wifi funkade inte så bra men det kan ju också vara skönt ibland. Hade kunnat bo där igen, man får valuta för pengarna.
