Eerlijk, het liefste wilde ik direct weer vertrekken, want wat was dit een teleurstelling! Ik had niet echt hoge verwachtingen, maar ik wilde enkel een eenvoudige overnachting met een schoon bedje en een eigen locker voor spullen als paspoort en telefoon; Echter mijn kamer was overboekt want er was geen vrije locker en geen vrij bed; de bedden waren allemaal vies/ gebruikt! Het stonk er verschrikkelijk en ik moest uiteindelijk bij andermans bedje maar zelf plaats maken om er maar zelf een nieuw laken boven bij op te leggen omdat ik anders nergens kon overnachten (ook dag 2 kreeg ik van mijn 2 andere mede kamergenoten de vraag of ik ook een vies bed trof, en of ik ook geen eigen locker had gekregen). Ik heb van ellende gedurende de nacht mijn paspoort/ telefoon/ portemonnee in mijn kleding moeten verstoppen en met een eigen slot mijn overige bagage aan het bed vastgebonden omdat het raam naar het publieke dak-terras in de nacht niet dicht kon, om over ongedierte en insecten/ bedbugs dat dit aantrok maar te zwijgen... De 2e dag wilde ik verhaal halen, maar gaf de enige aanwezige aan niet aan 't werk te zijn en daarom kon hij mij niet te woord staan. Alle WC's waren ook ernstig vies / kapot en sommige zaten zelfs volledig verstopt, douches waren eveneens erg vies en overal zat schimmel, evenals de keuken die erg vies was met kopjes koffie-resten die zeker al weken (?!) niet afgewassen waren; Ik heb er nog geen water durven pakken of een boterham durven smeren, zo vies! In de avond was er niemand van de staff te vinden voor je problemen, en eveneens was er ook niemand in de ochtend voor de check-out. Verder was er een groot gebrek aan stopcontacten in het gebouw om een telefoon te laden (uiteindelijk vond ik er bij de receptie toch nog eentje waar ik een nood-powerbank kon op-laden zonder mijn toestel in gezamenlijke ruimte achter te hoeven laten).

Came home all bitten by bedbugs! Also the lockers didn’t work,I was afraid to leave belongings there. Big problems with cleaning, no soup in the washrooms.

One woman got the most intense, special fx level bed bug bites while we began our three night stay. By the last night, another man developed an inflamed eye and arm after staying in the same room that was supposedly “cleaned” of the bed bugs. Granted, no one else in the hostel got bitten, to our knowledge, but worth noting. The sheets do not fit the bed and the pillows smelt of p*** from travelers past. Decent kitchen, great company, comfortable but only because the other option is the street.

Hospitalised with bed bugs and the north African man at reception was so mean and abusive. They handled the bedbugs problem terribly it took days and then they put everyone's stuff in piles and put chemicals all over the rooms. There is three flights of stairs with no help with luggage. The mattresses were made of foam. No designated beds.. so people steal beds and change beds.

I stayed in this hostel a few weeks ago and at first thought the hostel was alright (other than location) but then bedbugs were found in our room, which was dealt with very badly. I never normally give reviews, much less negative ones but I feel I need to share our experience with this hostel. Location: we arrived late at night and found it very difficult to find the door, my friend and I were wandering up and down and did not feel safe in the area at all. It's a bit better in the day but I did not feel safe there at night. Rooms: the hostel inside is alright, there were plenty of showers, the bedrooms were fine but the toilets smelt a bit. We didn't use the kitchen but that looked fine as well. For the first two nights we were happy in the hostel but on our second night, some people in our room found bedbugs. The staff came in with a flashlight and masking tape to remove them and nothing more was done. We slept in the room again for a third night, and only on the next day did they have pest removal people in. We walked into the room to find all the beds were stripped, everything moved, mattresses on the floor (see photos for proof) and all our stuff on the floor, with everything covered in some sort of repellant spray. A staff member came by and when we expressed shock about the state of the room, only offered us new bedding. Next thing, I looked over and saw a bedbug still on a mattress. We went to reception and were given a full refund and left the hostel as luckily it was our last night anyway. The next day I had several bites on my arm from bedbugs. I understand of course that bedbugs can happen anywhere (although the hostel should be better at enforcing people not using their own bedding) but the hostel did not do anything for over 24 hours to remove the bugs, and threw our stuff on the floor and expected us to reorganise the room. I would strongly urge people to reconsider if the cheap price per night is worth it, I wish I had paid slightly more and stayed somewhere nicer.

There were fully grown bedbugs and it took staff three whole days to act on the cleaning of the bedbugs. They moved EVEYRONES belongings off their beds without warning and put them in piles in the corner of the room mixing everyones belongings together in shambles. They then doused everything in harsh chemicals.They put my suitcase on the street after my refund when i was in hospital from the bedbugs. I couldn't move my suitcase down 3 flights as my hands were bleeding and in pain from their bug

Wir haben 2 Betten dort gebucht und eine Nacht dort verbracht. Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm und wir haben viele nette Leute kennengelernt. Nach Abreise stellten wir viele kleine rote Bisse an unseren Körpern fest und fanden danach auch einige Bettwanzen. Nach den aufgerissenen Matratzen oder blutverschmierten Bettlaken liegt es wohl nahe das sich in unseren Betten im Hostel Bettwanzen eingenistet haben, die wir jetzt auch mit nach Hause getragen haben.

BED BUGS. Someone in other room had bed bugs and then I found bed bugs in my bed. I told the person at reception and they said they were deep cleaning the hostel. When I came back they hadn't even changed my sheets. I don't recommend staying here, as it seems based on other reviews that they have problems with bed bugs regularly.

The management seemed dishonest. I had an issue with bedbugs and was not offered a clean mattress, nor did I receive any refund for the second night as promised. I was told that the bedbugs couldn't have come from their room as they had just dealt with it the day before I arrived. (I got my answer in their response, lol). Thankfully, the female receptionist was very helpful. Positive: cheap, good location and nice fellow travelers.

Tienen chinches en las camas, me picaron en todo el cuerpo y cuando les dije solo se hicieron los locos y yo tuve que comprar un repelente que ni siquiera sirvió porque están por todas partes en la hostal. Sin eso hubiera sido una muy grata experiencia pero hubiera preferido ir a otro lugar por el tema de las chinches. En todo lo demás muy bien. También aceptan huéspedes muy viejos que no tienen la misma dinámica que los más jóvenes y es bastante limitante.

Bed bugs, wifi was poor and prevented access to many sites I needed (including hostel booking and museum sites), sheets were gross and stained, no hot water, no soap or hand towels in bathroom

Wouldve been great value for money if we didn’t get bed bugs and had to sleep in the common room for a night💃💃💃💃

Run away! Bedbugs in my bed, I was bitten all over my body, the hostel refused to refund me for that night and denied the presence of bedbugs + the hostel is located above a nightclub so I could not sleep at all + the area is not safe with a lot of drug addicts wandering around.

They were missing a lock so my friend and I had to share one locker. The location is great, right next to a subway stop and tons of cheap street food, but it is above a casino so it is LOUD weekend nights. The facilities are generally clean. That said, I did find 3 bedbugs on a sweater that had not left the hostel on my 5th night. We had new arrivals in our room that day so I assume they brought them, and while the staff said they couldn't move me to a new bed they did wash my things for free.

Really nice staff and fun/nice spacious hostel but I got bed bugs from sleeping on the bed bugs!! Such a shame. Plus the bathrooms are very dirty

Serious bed bug infestation that has been there for months, according to one of their long term guests. Save yourself from disgusting bites, having to throw away items you love and spending lots of money and effort to get rid of bed bugs and steer clear of Comebackpackers.
