The noise; you can hear arguments from the reception area, music, and other noises. As soon as I arrived, one guy was putting another guy in a chokehold, both drunk, inside the reception area. The rooms are nothing like the pictures. You stretch your whole body from one side of the wall to the other, and you touch both walls. I'm 1.83cm tall.Inside that room, for example, there were two bunk beds, one 3 and one 3.The fire alarms aren't working. The hostel reeks of marijuana. There isn't a single place where I can sit down with the computer.As soon as I took my suitcase out, there were 4 drug addicts eyeing it up. I've been to cleaner, cheaper rat-infested places. I'm talking about the mythical and legendary Home London on Caledonian Road, which has been closed for six years now. I'd rather go there a thousand times than here. The fact that I say that is already quite an achievement. Not for girls, not even as a joke. And that's despite the fact that two women work at reception in the mornings. It should be not just illegal, but a crime against humanity to be there. Oh yes, forget about getting a single pound back. I'm going back to my country to change my passport; I don't trust the photocopy they made at all, and I dropped my Halifax Visa card there.I had it inside my passport, and when I looked, surprise, it was gone. The same goes for the card I used to make the booking. They have access to the card number and the CVV because when you make a booking, they have to collect the payment after you make it; this happens in all hostels. I was the manager of several backpacker hostels; I know the procedure inside and out. The price is normally 17 pounds a night, it cost me 11 that night. That hostel isn't worth 5 pounds a night, if you pay more you're an idiot. They should remove it from Booking.com The location: you're lucky if you don't get stabbed (at any time of day). Bedbugs: that's like Jurassic Park.

Private room was filthy, stained mattress tiny window no curtain bed bugs everywhere, I left after 20 mins and took my £80 loss as a lesson. This room shouldn’t be rentable is absolutely horrific worst room I’ve ever come across in my life

Todo el resto, HORRIBLE. Hemos vuelto llenas de picaduras de chinches, avisamos y nos cambiaron de habitación pero la nueva que nos dieron también tenía chinches. La habitación era claustrofóbica para 6 personas, no podías ni caminar sin tropezarte dos personas mas. En cuanto a los baños, que horror!!! Sucios, pequeños, solo uno con espejo y con muy muy poca luz. Además entró un trabajador a la habitación con el código mientras estábamos cambiándonos, lo que nos hizo sentir muy inseguras, ya que había alguna en ropa interior. En fin, si estás leyendo esto antes de reservarlo. Vale la pena gastarse un poco más e ir a un sitio mejor.

My score says 2,6, yet I feel more this is a 2. Like it is not bad that there are cockroaches, bedbugs or lice, but when 2 avid travelers both agree this is the worst hostel they have ever stayed in it is bad. One of my friends didn't even want to check in and descided she prefered to stay at Cambridge and travel that entire distance every day. She thought it was way to grim. That was the word I was looking for when I said that if this hostel was a movie it would be Trainspotting.

Pleasee take housekeeping more seriously. There’s bed bug, the toilet and showers are disgusting. I dont feel safe at all for the whole 2 nights

Was itching all night. Maybe bed bugs but most probably dust mites. Rooms were cramped not cleaned properly and showers and toilets not clean.

I would not recommend staying at this hostel. The place was quite dirty and had bedbugs. Many of the people seem to live there long term and were weird/creepy. We actively avoided hanging out there during the day because we were so uncomfortable. Nothing felt clean or safe. As a woman i would never stay here again. I guess the staff was nice though.

Extremely disappointing and unsafe stay. The building smelled of mold, had water leaks, slippery stairs (I even fell), and a hole in the floor. The room was dirty (dust, chewing gum on walls, stained sheets), no hot water the first night, and poor insulation. Same door code for all rooms — someone entered ours by mistake. Bed bugs, insect bites, and very poor hygiene overall. Toilets and showers not working, kitchen unsanitary. Nothing like the photos shown online. Definitely not recommended.

Avoid at all costs! We booked a private room for two women. The lock was half broken, and one guy of the staff member was dismissive about it (if the latch didn’t close properly, it could easily be opened from the outside). The window was broken and faced the staircase, so we could hear every noise. The fire alarm went off several times during the night, and to top it all off, we found bed bugs in our room. BED BUGS I got bit everywhere, I found one bug and killed it (it was full of blood). When I mentioned the problem, it seems like it wasn't a new issue but a reoccurring one so stay away !

Other residents were often selfish and smelly (sorry but someone from the ground floor left their shoes on the third floor where I slept because they smelled so bad). Don't even think about using the showers. Someone complained of bed bugs, but I think they were just trying to get a free night's stay coz they went right back to bed after complaining to the bar staff (who could do nothing as it was 3am and I didnt see the owner the entire time). I booked 2 nights because I had an early flight, but didn't even bother going to the dorm after night 1, so I just hung out in the pub.

Filthy place, being low budget shouldn't be synonymous with dirtyness. Bedbugs. Bedbugs.Bedbugs. On top of everything the building is falling apart it needs renovations yes or yes.

BED BUGS!!! Staff were unhelpful when asking for a refund. Facility is dirty and broken down. The entire atmosphere feels unsafe. Even on a budget, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

100% infected with bed bugs - all for four of us stayed experience bites, itching and soreness after one night sleeping there. The facilities were disgusting and unsanitary. We paid a cheap price but im not sure £30 per person is worth getting bed bites, unclean bedding, mould and tiny rooms. Just pay a bit more and get somewhere actually made for human life and not infested with bed bugs.

Me desperté a las 2:30am en mi primera noche en el hostel con dolor por todo el cuerpo y rodeada de MUCHÍSIMAS CHINCHES corriendo por mi cama. Revisamos la habitación entera y había chinches en varias de las otras camas, además de la pared, ropa, maletas... Nos ofrecieron cambiarnos de habitación, pero en cuanto entramos a la nueva habitación vimos que TAMBIÉN HABÍA CHINCHES. Nos fuimos a esperar a que se hiciera de día al bar que hace de recepción, y vimos OTRA CHINCHE MÁS ahí. Fuimos al hospital a que me revisaran, ya que había sufrido de muchísimas picaduras. Adjunto fotos de las chinches, aunque cuando las alumbramos la mayoría se fueron, en el momento en el que me desperté había muchísimas más. NO OS ALOJÉIS AQUÍ. Tuvimos que coger un nuevo alojamiento, ya que ese era un peligro para nuestra salud, y entre eso y lavar toda nuestra ropa que se había llenado de chinches nos gastamos MUCHÍSIMO dinero.

NO ONE SHOULD STAY IN THIS HOSTEL. MY FRIENDS AND I WAKE UP AT NIGHT SURROUNDED BY BEDBUGS. THEY BITED US AND THE RECEPTION AND THE STAFF DID NOT KNOW HOW TO GIVE US ANY SOLUTION, ONLY MOVE US TO ANOTHER ROOM WHERE THERE WERE ALSO THERE.

Terrible hostel - the dirtiest hostel I have ever seen, and security concerns since they didn‘t even know who was sleeping in some of the rooms. Other reviews said there were bed bugs everywhere and the hostel didn’t do anything about it. We only stayed the first out of three nights and then fled somewhere else, even after having paid for three nights.

If I could rate this place less the 1 star I would. I'm not fussed about the size of the room because my intention was to just sleep there but when I unfolded the bedding it was covered in bed bugs. There was no way I was staying there so I check out after not even being there and hour. The place itself wasn't clean and I didn't feel safe in my room at all because the lock didn't close properly. Don't stay here regardless of how cheap it is. The place needs shutting down.

BED BUGS. (See multiple reports of this on google map reviews.) When I reported this to the staff, one admitted that it was a common complaint for those sleeping on the lower bunk beds and suggested that I sleep at the top (as if bed bugs didn’t know how to climb up the wall). The more senior staff refused to move me to a new room because I might already be carrying the bugs and blamed guests for bringing them to the hostel. There was also quarreling over someone in my room snoring loudly. People literally kicked at the snorer’s bed in the middle of the night and early in the morning. The moment I went into Room 10, it smelt like foot odor. You’ll also see blackish smears on the wall. Possibly bed bug poop or the bugs being squished accidentally. They also change the main door code every day. But security isn’t the issue at this place. It’s the bed bugs, foul odor, and cramming nine people into a small room with one small window. AVOID THIS HOSTEL AT ALL COSTS. I barely slept the one night I stayed there and got the fk out of there the next morning and requested full refund.

...but bed bugs is something I can not deal with. Guess it's my fault for not reading the reviews. Obviously bed bugs can happen, I'm not mad about that, but apparently the problem persists since months. And nothing seems to be done. That is something that makes me a bit mad.

Stay anywhere else but here. While the workers were nice, the entire place is infested with bed bugs. Could not get a solid night sleep due to bugs, homeless people sneaking in. I’ve never been in an environment like this before. Terrible place to stay. 0/10 would recommend this place to anyone.

BED BUGS. In the colder months they disappeared. They are back. I have bites all along my hands and arms. Room 5 at least needs fumigating. I've complained before, but no solution has been found.

I got bitten by bed bugs whilst in the property and when i spoke to a staff member about it they just didnt care! Didnt offer to switch beds or sort the problem just shrugged me off and didnt want to listen at all! Would not recommend at all Will not be staying again
