Britannia Inn Hotel

Stayed here from 5th–9th April and this was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I was forced to check out early after discovering what appeared to be bed bugs in the room and waking up covered in bites. I have clear photographic evidence of both the bites and the condition of the bedding. I went straight to reception and showed them the photos in person. Despite being presented with clear evidence, absolutely nothing was done. I asked to speak with a manager and was refused. No one came to inspect the room, I was not offered a room change, and I was told I would not be refunded. I was simply handed a business card and told to email. I was left with no choice but to leave the hotel. Since then, the hotel has completely denied everything and is hiding behind an “independent inspection” while refusing to provide the actual report when requested. They have now stopped responding altogether, which says everything. The level of negligence and lack of accountability here is shocking. This is not just poor customer service, it is a serious hygiene concern handled in the worst possible way. Avoid this place at all costs. 🤬

Rude staff , and bedbugs or fleas

The cleanliness and the pillows. This is basic hygiene and needs for a room.

Told me on arrival my card to pay the 100 Pounds Deposit didnt work (which it did for two weeks eveyrwhere else in the UK) cause its a signature card. Asked me for another which I didnt have. Wanted to pay in cash the receptionist told me then it would be double the amount (200 Pounds!) Seemed like a scam so we rejected the offer. Checked other reviews later, they are scamming people and the place is infested with bedbugs and black mould (pictures of others on Tripadvisor.)

This is an absolutely disgusting hotel. Went to this hotel, got moved from one room to another due to the heat. Second room infested with bed bugs. My wife was in hospital all day due to severe swelling and infection. We went to the reception area no apology was offered even though i brought down the bed bugs- the only thing the bearded guy said was i am sending this for testing. Testing for what? No thorough explanation was offered, my priority was to take my wife to the hospital. Manager was supposed to return call today, nothing was received. I will be informing trading standards. Do not use this hotel if you care about your health. DISGUSTING
