Ha Giang Loop Hostel

- Als ich angekommen bin wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass der gebuchte Bungalow überflutet wurde und die Unterkunft nicht zur Verfügung steht. Alternativ wäre ein Doppelzimmer zur Verfügung gestanden. Jedoch hat man auch hier feuchte, Schimmel etc. gerochen und gesehen. Ich habe die Unterkunft storniert/gewechselt. Ich hätte mir eine bessere Kommunikation vorab gewünscht, dass die gebuchte Unterkunft nicht zur Verfügung steht.

- !! Attention !! Je laisse rarement des commentaires négatifs mais dans ce cas cela me semble nécessaire. L’hotel en soit est pas mal. Mais pour le reste ça se complique. Nous avons réservé 2 tickets de bus avec l’établissement et là, le cauchemar a commencé. Pourtant j’ai pris beaucoup de bus en Asie. D’abord on a été entassés dans un premier van. Certains autres passagers ont été poussé violemment pour les forcer à s’asseoir. Une dispute a commencé, puis ça s’est calmé. Une fois arrivé l’escroquerie, bien organisée, a commencé. Le bus nous à déposé bien loin du lieu prévu. Il était 4 heure du matin et nous étions au milieu de nul part. Mais bien sûr il y avait des chauffeurs qui nous ont prit 4 fois le prix d’un taxi ou d’un Grab. J’ai contacté l’hotel pour leur en parler. Bien sûr il n’a rien fait et nous a à peine répondu. Dommage car il avait été très sympa pendant notre séjour.

- English below Brutta esperienza in questo ostello. Abbiamo dormito qui una prima notte all'inizio del loop e abbiamo prenotato una seconda notte per il nostro ritorno. Verso le 8 di sera, dopo 4 ore che eravamo lì, un ragazzo dello staff è venuto a dirci che l'ostello era al completo e dovevamo andare via. Il manager non si è preoccupato di darci spiegazioni o semplicemente di scusarsi con noi. È stato incredibilmente scortese. Abbiamo protestato e alla fine ci hanno dato un materasso duro. Tutto questo dopo aver passato 4 giorni con l'autista che ci avevano procurato per il nostro tour, e qui si apre un capitolo ancora più agghiacciante. Pha (o qualcosa del genere) si è permesso di molestare le nostre figlie ventenni per tutto il viaggio, prima subdolamente e poi con tentativi espliciti di baciarle e indicare loro il suo letto quando arrivavamo negli alberghi. Sulla strada correva e si divertiva a fingere di investire i passanti, era lunatico e aggressivo nei confronti dei proprietari degli ostelli dove ci fermavamo a dormire, perché pretendeva di avere trattamenti migliori. Insomma per noi è stato un incubo. Ci teniamo a fare questa recensione per avvisare le persone, in particolare le ragazze, che prenotano un tour presso questo ostello. Non torneremo di certo. Bad experience in this hostel. We slept here a first night at the start of the loop and booked a second night for our return. Around 8pm, after 4 hours of being there, a guy from the staff came to tell us that the hostel was fully booked and we had to leave. The manager didn't bother to explain or simply apologize to us. He was incredibly rude. We complained and in the end they gave us a hard mattress. All this after spending 4 days with the driver they had provided us for our tour, and here an even more chilling chapter opens.

- The room had mold, the walls were dirty.

+ I chose this place hoping for a quiet setting to focus on some work, while still getting a bit of local culture and nature. The one clear positive was Bean – he’s helpful, speaks good English, and does make an effort to assist when needed. I stayed in a bungalow, which was next to the pool and had an ensuite and AC. It was comfortable enough, but not as peaceful or well-maintained as I expected. Bongo the dog was lovely – very sweet and friendly. Overall, the place might suit someone looking for a more tour-focused stay, but it didn’t work for what I needed.

- I stayed longer than just a quick Loop stop, and that made all the difference. This place might work for a one-night stay, but it didn’t meet my needs at all. I came to work and finally visit Ha Giang. Without my IDP, I was advised to do a day tour with a driver. I expected cultural immersion and local villages – instead, I got a ride to a tourist trap, a waterfall I wasn’t interested in, and a café in town. The driver didn’t speak English and didn’t guide. I paid double the usual easy rider rate for what was basically just a taxi ride. No insight, no story, no content. The room had a nice look, but the darkness and numerous large spiders and cockroaches made it unpleasant. Bathroom breaks required a scan. The sounds of them crawling around at night kept me up. And my room wasn’t cleaned once in the 3 nights I stayed there. Staff were friendly when around, but often absent. Besides the manager Bean, no one speaks English. I prepaid for lunch and coffee on my last day and nearly left without either – only managed to eat because I found a staff member napping. Breakfast is super basic, which is fair for the price. But what really bothered me was being hassled after my initial review (a 6) to change it to a 10 on WhatsApp. When I explained my issues, they blamed me for only doing one day. Not cool, so I’m editing this original review to a fairer one. If you’re considering this place, read the negative reviews. They’re not exaggerating.

+ Loin de la ville et de ses attractions, les chambres ne sont pas insonorisés. L’hôtel était vide mais de bon matin vous pouvez profiter du bruit du staff et de la cuisine. Le petit déjeuner n’est pas bon, et le tour n’est pas plus avantageux qu’ailleurs. Je déconseille fortement.

- La comida estaba terrible, vengo de la India y puedo admitir que es la peor comida que comido en todo mi viaje ademas de cara. El personal no nos ayudo en nada, ni nos dio ninguna recomendación sobre el loop, teníamos que ir detrás del responsable. Por no hablar de la rata que había en la cocina mientras cenábamos, y peor aun, por la noche en nuestra habitación una rata correteaba por ahi a las 3 de la mañana y como el colchón va sobre suelo, fue imposible descansar. Ademas de que habian mas amigas en la habitación, PULGAS, contando las picaduras que tengo, suman 30!!!!!!! 30 picaduras de pulgas sobre todo por los pies. Intentó venderme por seguridad una moto de mayor potencia, alegando que esta seguridad es lo más importante, y la moto que nos facilitaron no tenía espejo retrovisor, no le funcionaba el marcador de la gasolina y en carretera me di cuenta que los frenos no funcionaba muy bien, lo del espejo lo solucionaron, pero el resto tuve que lidiar con ello el Ha Gian loop, poniendo en peligro mi seguridad y lo mas importante la de mi hija.

- Absolutely impossible to sleep here! The house is completely open to the outdoors and the social area is right under the dorm and single “rooms”. The walls are made of cardboard, so it doesn’t matter if you book a private room or a dorm. If anyone snores loudly, the whole building will hear it. The sliding doors can’t even close properly, and since they are made of frosted glass ALL light flow into the room. Karaoke music machine on loud speaker (super loud volume all day long), babies crying, guitar playing, singing, loud talks involving the staff until super late at night (2 am!). At 2 am I had to point out that people were trying to sleep right above their heads and that there basically were no walls present to sound insulate. I think the staff should care more about all of their guests in general and show some respect and consideration that people are there both to socialise AND sleep.

+ Ein großes Dankeschön an Bean, er hat alles für uns organisiert, die unglaubliche Tour mit ganz netten Fahrern und den Transport zum Busbahnhof. Eine sehr schön eingerichtete Unterkunft. Sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis.

+ Das Hostel ist ein klein wenig abseits gelegen, das spielt aber keine Rolle, weil der Inhaber für Transport sorgt. Die Anlage ist schön und großzügig und das wichtigste: Mr. Bin, der Inhaber, ist extrem hilfreich bei allen Fragen, die den Loop, die Weiterfahrt oder die Hinfahrt betreffen. Er ist ein Organisationstalent und macht das Unmögliche möglich! Wir hatten bei ihm die gesamte Tour (vier Tage, drei Nächte) gebucht und es war alles zu absoluter Zufriedenheit organisiert. Wir hatten ein Auto mit Fahrer anstelle des üblichen Motorrads gewünscht und auch das wurde zu korrektem Preis möglich gemacht. Wer bei Bin bucht wird mit Sicherheit nicht enttäuscht.

+ Bean, ejeren, er det flinkeste menneske vi har mødt imens vi har været i Vietnam. Han hjalp os med både at booke transport til og fra Ha Giang og loopet. Han spurgte ind til os både før og efter vi tog afsted på loopet og var generelt meget venlig og imødekommende. Maden i restauranten er okay:)

- Det værelse vi boede på en enkelt nat inden vi skulle på loop, var ret slidt og beskidt desværre. Der var hul i væggen ude på toilettet så der kom en masse insekter ind.

- De bedden waren ontzettend hard, de badkamer te laag om met een gemiddelde europeaanse lengte te douchen en het zwembad vies en half leeg

+ De vriendelijke mensen. Gastheer Bean was zo zorgzaam voor ons als gasten. Hij regelde alles tot in de puntjes!

+ Propreté 0/2 : crotte de souris partout dans la chambre + tâche + salle de bain rempli de tartre Confort du lit 2/2 : super lit dommage qu’il y ai des crotte dedans lol Localisation 1/2 : ça va mais pas grand chose autour Prix 2/2 : pas cher ! Petit déjeuner 1/1 : très copieux et bon. Personnel 0/1 : accueil très froid Note final 6/10. C’est dommage la propreté était vraiment catastrophique c’est ce qui nous a déplu…

+ Quirky property with very friendly staff and good portions of food! They organised my loop tour aswell

+ The staff was very friendly and super helpfull with arranging taxi and other services! No crazy karaoke in the evening was very nice for a good nights rest.
