We have mixed feelings with this hostel. The biggest problem was that it said in the main description that the breakfast is included in the price which is not true. Only when we sat at the breakfast table and have taken a tea the woman told us that we have to pay 3000 clp for the breakfast. We explained them that it's not clear in the booking process that there are rooms without breakfast and they might fix that but they didn't really seem to care. Attention of the staff was also not the best.

It has a good location and the construction is nice, the pool is nice as well as the dining room, however everything is overshadowed by the zero sound insulation between bedrooms. really uncomfortable feeling that you are bathing, washing your hands, the pipes are ringing a lot and you even feel the vibration of the cell phone from the adjacent apartment. it is uncomfortable and you can not sleep well, besides the door system which is a huge window sill, it is beautiful, but the curtains allow y...
Nice staff, good location, and a really good breakfast in the AM. The bathrooms are kept very clean, but unfortunately the building itself lets lots of small ants into the room. You can also hear everything in the room (dogs bark all night, people walking and driving down the street, the people above you walking, etc.) Room gets very stuffy, and the beds are organized in a very weird way. One of the walls for our room had a large window out to the street and multiple people tried to look in.
This was a weird place to stay. It's more like a restaurant w/hotel & dorm rooms. All the staff work in the restaurant so you go to the restaurant for help. I arrived on a night bus at 8am but didn't check in until after 3p after I was told all day long that the person is on their way or they will arrive shortly. Pool could be cleaner, kitchen was not stocked well (1 spatula, 1 cutting board, few bowls, no way to label your items, knives not sharp, etc). Breakfast was good!
I came there in off season and I was the only person in the dorm so obviously atmosphere was not great. But it was clean and the staff gave me some tour operator contact when I ask. Included breakfast was simple but served with love. Not a real backpacker hostel I think but fine to stay for a few days and Vicuña is a lovely village
Very beautiful hostel! The showers & bathroom are a bit old so the showers were quite cold. The cats & the dog are of course a bonus point! :)

Perfect hostel for excursions to the Elqui Tal.
Patio interior con mesitas y piscina muy agradable. La cocina estaba bien equipada. El personal no era muy receptivo (no había nunca nadie en recepción, teníamos que esperar). Los muros de las habitaciones son muy delgados y se escuchaba el ruido de la calle y de las otras habitaciones.
The kitchen was well equipped. the staff was not very receptive (there was never anyone at the reception, we had to wait). the walls of the rooms are very thin and you could hear the noise from the street and the other rooms.

Eine nette Unterkunft um zu entspannen. Das Hostel ist sauber und hat mit einem kleinen Pool und einer Bar mehr viel zu bieten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Frühstück ist gut.
The hostel is clean and has a lot more to offer with a small pool and a bar. the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good.

Lovely chilled hostel with lovely staff! The kitchen and pool/terrace areas are really lovely to sit out and relax. Kitchen is well equipped and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Shared dorm is spacious, bathroom was a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the hostel and not the best shower but everything else made up for it.

Un grand merci à toute l’équipe mais SURTOUT au service de ménage qui a été top! Merci à la gentillesse de ces femmes qui sont d’une efficacité impressionnante ! Nous avons adoré notre séjour et ne pouvons que recommander cette auberge, de plus le restaurant est excellent.

Hostel voelde als een hotel met veel luxe en comfort! Het ontbijt was lekker, de ruimtes mooi ruim en schoon. Ze maken zelfs elke dag je bed op! En tot slot, het zwembad en terras waren echt heel fijn! Ik bleef langer dan gepland, allemaal dankzij de omgeving en het hostel.
Hostel felt like a hotel with lots of luxury and comfort! breakfast was good, the rooms were nice spacious and clean. they even make your bed every day! and to top it off, the pool and terrace were really nice! i stayed longer than planned, all thanks to the environment and the hostel.
Great hostel for those wanting to stay for a few nights in the elqui valley. I originally booked one night but ended up staying longer because of how relaxing it was here! The hostel has a clean pool, huge common areas, and is attached to a pisco bar and restaurant! From 12 to 5pm you can get a menu del día for 10,000 pesos which feels gourmet and their happy hour also lasts half the day. The staff are lovely and very helpful for recommendations of what to do in the area. I would come back!
Amazing hostel, the staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful. The location is perfect for visiting elqui valley. We booked for one night then extended 2 more it was just so lovely. The restaurant attached has a menu del dia for great prices and great happy hour prices.

Great stay at this hostel! Very relaxed and calm vibe in great location. Staff are really lovely and helpful. Went above and beyond to take care of me when I was unwell and get me everything I needed. Facilities are great and all clean.

Nous avons passé un super séjour à l'hôtel Antawara. Un bel accueil, un lieu assez idyllique avec de grandes chambres, donnant sur un patio très agréable, avec une belle piscine. Nous y avons même passé une nuit de plus que prévu. Et le restaurant de l'hôtel était hyper bon. Avec mention spéciale pour leur cocktail Elki Tiki.
We had a great stay at the hotel Antawara. a nice welcome, a fairly idyllic place with large rooms, overlooking a very nice patio, with a beautiful pool. we even spent one night longer than planned. and the hotel restaurant was super good. with a special mention for their Elki Tiki cocktail.

Highly recommended! A wonderful family experience at Antawara This was my second stay at Antawara. My first time was in February 2025 for a short two-night trip, and the experience was spectacular from check-in to check-out. really how to inhabit a home ♥️ the kindness of its people, the hospitality and good disposition to make you feel at ease and comfortable, the beauty of the place full of plantitas, details, music and life. 10 points in cleanliness, safety and the spaciousness of its spaces. Without a doubt, the magic of my days in the Valley was also in large part due to the comfortable and well-received I felt in Antawara!
