The only positive thing about this hotel is its good location — just a 5-minute walk from the main historical attractions in the Sultanahmet area. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The rooms are old and dirty, with dust everywhere. The furniture is heavily worn out, and the bathroom fixtures have rust and water stains. We booked a deluxe room with a sea view, but the main view turned out to be construction debris. The Wi-Fi in the room barely works, although you can hear the neighbors and housekeeping staff perfectly well. The hotel does not have an elevator, so guests have to climb a narrow spiral staircase. Carrying luggage up and down is simply dangerous — it’s very easy to slip and get injured. Breakfast is very modest: eggs, very few vegetables, cold sausages… The worst part was that during the very first night at this hotel, I was bitten by bed bugs. The bites caused Quincke’s edema, and I had to go to the hospital. We asked for another room and were moved, but apparently the bed bugs moved with us because the second room had them too. Ironically, the staff insisted that everything in the hotel was perfectly fine, that they had all the required sanitary certificates, and that no other guests had ever complained about such an issue. That same night we moved to another hotel, where there were no bed bugs. Out of the remaining two nights, we were refunded only half of the money. Never stay at this hotel if you do not want to ruin your vacation. There are plenty of other hotels nearby in the same price range with much better rooms and no insects.
