Sanim Hostel

The hostel looked nice in the photos however in real life parts were too dirty and I had to book a hotel. Mainly the showers smelt like drains and there were loads of insects around the drain when you shower, as with the toilet lots of mini insects. Hard to brush teeth without gagging due to smell (I didn’t encounter this anywhere else in Thailand and I was there for 3 weeks). Also hundreds of ants invaded my luggage whilst I was out for the day when I came back I spent hours going through...

Nous avons pris une chambre privée avec salle de bain. À noter qu’il n’y avait aucune fenêtre donnant sur l’extérieur, ce qui rend l’espace un peu étouffant. La climatisation fonctionnait moyennement et les draps étaient tachés, ce qui est décevant. Nous avons également dû payer un supplément pour un check-in après 20h. Cela dit, le prix reste très abordable, donc le rapport qualité/prix est cohérent, mais il est important de prévenir les futurs voyageurs.

I had a disappointing experience at Sanim hostel. Before checking in, we asked if there were bedbugs (due to a previous review) and they assured us there weren't any. Unfortunately, we found bedbugs in bed 1 in the women's room D. After informing the staff and going through a lot of back and forth, we finally got a refund for the nights we had left. It was a stressful situation and I recommend being cautious when choosing accommodation here.

The private room is big and spacious with great ac. However the bathroom smelled of sewage and the water pressure was really bad. It felt more like a hotel which isn’t bad, but when we booked a hostel we were hoping for more common areas. The staff was nice and helpful with transport.

Kamers waren niet proper. Er hieng een vreselijke geur in de kamer. Douche was niet proper..

Nice hostel with clean and spacious rooms, and a good location. However, the shower water wasn’t very warm. The hairdryer in the room didn’t work, but there are some available in the communal bathroom area.If you arrive after 8 pm, they charge an extra 100 baht. Also, be aware that they only accept cash for payment for the entire stay.

We had bed bugs. At first we were very excited because everything seemed great! We were told that there were no curtains because they were being washed and there were only three of us in the room anyway. At night we found bed bugs and bed bug powder on the unoccupied beds. We are very disappointed that the owners knew about the bed bugs and did not cancel our stay and we are now having trouble getting rid of the bed bugs. We would also have liked the collaboration afterwards to be different.

Meine Nachbarin hatte Bettwanzen. Ihr Bett wurde gereinigt, aber wir sollten weiter in dem Zimmer schlafen. Am nächsten Tag hatte ich eine Wanze in meinem Bett…

Clean and comfortable hostel. Social atmosphere and kind staff. A bit more expensive compared to others I’ve stayed in Thailand, but Aonang is quite touristy so it is expected.

Hostel limpio y cómodo, bien ubicado. Además ofrecen todo tipo de tours y traslados. Lo malo es que el AC funciona de 16 a 8:30hs por lo que te obliga a levantarte temprano (sería ideal si estuviera de 17 a 9:30-10hs). Además las puertas de la habitación compartida hacen un ruido tremendo cada vez que se cierran, la primera noche no dormí bien porque éramos 8 mujeres todas entrando y saliendo a diferentes horas.

This hostel was in a great location - right next door to a 7-Eleven, not far from the pier for tours, and close to the Landmark night market. The dorms were very comfortable and clean, and the balcony was a plus. Air conditioning is on during the night and there is a fan only from 10am-5pm, which was fine and fairly normal for hostels in Thailand. The bathrooms were pretty hot and a bit smelly and the showers could’ve been a little cleaner but nothing too bad. I would stay again.

Loved it here. Right at the beach. Reception lady is very polite and welcome. Try to book a private room with double bed cause of balcony and you won’t be disappointed

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the private suite! Great view from our balcony and easy walk to night market and all other main points of interest. The ladies downstairs were so nice as well. My girl did think the bed was firm but I didn’t mind it at all haha

Hostel was quite nice, I ended up staying longer than expected. Rooms were very big and spacious. I found my room was really hot and the staff were quite adamant to have the AC off as much as possible. I completely understand this to save money, environment etc but it just ment the rooms was quite uncomfortable at times. Hostel is also in a great location, it’s pretty much at the other end of the strip to the night market so it’s only about a 5 min walk.

My stay was almost perfect!! Only things that can be improved: the curtains are kinda see through so don't provide much privacy (I was in the female dorm so it wasn't too uncomfortable for me). The hostel is not social at all, no nice area to socialize (except outdoors but never saw people hanging out there). Often I went to ask info at reception and it was empty and had to wait (eventually I always found the lady, and she was so nice), maybe putting a sign like "back in 10 mins" would be good.

Very comfortable hostel, helpful and friendly staff and perfect location to be near the beach and the busy street without all of the noise!

Smaller hostel with a nice patio and cafe on the ground level across from the beach next to the 7/11 so always busy outside but very convenient.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is calm and definitely not party-hostel. I enjoyed having a place to sit and have some coffee downstairs, and it was really close to everything.

Very clean & well-located hostel right next to the beach, 7-11 and night market. Other people staying at the hostel were very friendly and made it have a nice atmosphere but definitely not "social". I stayed with friends and we had a nice time here.

Utterly perfect. Location was very central but not loud at night at all, the bed was so comfy and the room was super clean. Big bed, clean showers, hot water, and clean toliets. Hostel has water machine to refill your bottle, a microwave, a fridge, and hairdryers. Cafe downstairs was very tasty and the hostel workers were super helpful when I got sick. Not social but exactly what I was looking for. Only place I’d stay in Ao Nang! 711 / ATMs / laundry / pharmacy all beside hostel!
