Shittest Hostel ever
This place is falling apart. I also didn’t feel really comfortable with the staff at all (pretty aggressive and rude behavior), no hot shower and when it rains the hallway gets flooded with like 3cm of water.
The hostel staff had a bad engry two of them here debating shouting at each other when i said to one of them its not good have this tension in a place where lots of different people he got argeesive towards me. The shower didn't have hot water, the front door often didnt work at one point I stood outside with other guests for ages be so much easier to have key card system like other hostels have. I made friends with some of the other guests but thats the only postive I can say.
Booked the hostel off its 9.2 rating but I have no idea how it got it You know when you’re at the floor of the hostel because the smell of the toilet hits you pretty quickly the mattress’ with no sheets are black and one guest even mentioned bed bugs Then there is the bathroom with the shower covered in rubbish on the floor It’s far from everything, a uber is minimum $5US each way Lost my $5 key deposit at check out at 9:30am because the staff was asleep How did it ever get a 9.2 ra...
Guys! Like I'm still shocked of what I've seen! Horrible place! I just came in and literally run away! Everything is disgusting in that place! Every single thing is disgusting, the matrises are like the ones you see thrown in the garbage, no locker's, you won't feel safe in that area, neither in the hostelIt can fitt as homeless people place, not even that!I feel like this place had some good history but the situation I just saw today is horrible!I don't recommend it at all! Run away!
Very disappointed, compared to other establishments at the same price in Beirut, it is not worth the price. No heating in winter, no ac in summer. Don't expect warm shower, they don't have hot water. Everything is very dirty, bathroom as well as the kitchen. You will sleep in a bed without even a sheet on your blanket and pillow.. If you are lucky you will even find nails and hairs next to your bed
I came during a difficult time for Lebanon (Jul 2024) but when is it not difficult for this beautiful country? The staff had taken over all the fridge for themselves so it was difficult to put in any food. There's no atmosphere or hospitality. The rooms are very hot during the summer, and I grew up in the tropics, so that's saying something. Poor ventilation, terrible wifi. Place is kept very clean. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and clean. Easy to get into Beirut with ridesharing services or...
Incredibly hot. They need more fans to keep it cool I found it very difficult to sleep
Dirty and uncomfortable, but very nice staff and safe.
sometimes there's no hot water, the internet is weak, especially in the night , otherwise the rest of the facilities are good

fantastic hostel, with amazing staff! I couldn't have asked for a better time while I was in Beirut!
Nice place, well kept, really good people!
The staff were amazing, super friendly and always helpful, especially Rami and Lord. The hostel is comfortable and very social, which made it easy to meet people and enjoy the stay. Highly recommended!
I had a great stay at Colony Beirut Hostel. The atmosphere was welcoming and social, making it easy to meet other travelers. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to give tips about Beirut. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent—close to everything you need. I would definitely stay here again
The place is designed in a really cozy way. The rooms were clean, and the location made getting around Beirut really easy.
Clean, friendly, and affordable hostel with a great atmosphere.
While the hostel itself is fantastic with a great outdoor area, very very comfortable beds, and ample amenities, the true essence of the hostel lies with its staff, namely Rami. The energetic and lively atmosphere is contagious, and you will have very interesting discussions about Lebanon and it's history, combined with hilarious frivolity. my friend and I were discussing how unique and fun this hostel was, and upon ruminating why, we came to the conclusion that Rami made it so thrilling.
The property is secure, in a central location within walking distance to whatever you need. The neighborhood is a little community; everyone knows everyone. We came to be a part of Lebanon and Rami, one of the staff, he especially created this experience. Every night he cooks a family dinner from his mother’s recipes, he is a natural teacher so you will learn anything you want to learn and if you need help with transportation or suggested places to visit, Rami will put in the effort for you.
The beat part about this hostel is this staff! Not only are you in a great location but they will help you with any recommendations as well as getting comfortable in Lebanon. The staff, especially Rami, create a great environment, would definitely recommend and will probably return!
sometimes there's no hot water, the internet is weak, especially in the night , otherwise the rest of the facilities are good
It was really nice eating with everyone in the evening ! Rami is a really unique and funny guy. I'm sure He is a great guide for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the filth in the beds made me leave... A smell of gym and stale tobacco, a blanket that hadn't been washed in years, and traces of bedbugs in the pillow. I've stayed in dozens of hostels in my life but this one was really too dirty for me. I'd rather pay more and sleep in a reasonably clean bed.
I like the staff there who made very delicious meals for everyone. But the faculty is old and not that clean. No hot water sometimes. Worth this price.
Very nice hostel, located close to Armenian street were you can find a lot of bars, restaurants and clubs. However, the highlight was Rami, he is working at the hostel. He is such a cool and funny guy, we had endless conversations, very meaningful. And we could taste his selfmade and local food, this was delicious. Ramo - you madr my trip very special, thanks for your warm welcome!
Share knowledge, laughs and experiences over hot dinners each night. This place is wonderful especially thanks to the staff that work everyday to make this place better and more welcoming. Very busy area only like 15-20 mins away and a highway where you can catch a minibus or van only 5 mins away. Bring some humour and curiosity and you will love it. Perfect for solo travellers!
Amazing time, amazing people, great hostel nothing too luxury but fair for the price. Rami is an awesome host, vibes guaranteed!
İt was really good experience
The best ever hostel I ever visited in my whole life! Rami! I wish you the best in your life, without you it won't be a special place like it is now. I learnt so much from you. It it a special place !!! Do not look further. God bless Lebanon !!
The Colony became a very grounding place to come back to each day after exploring Beirut and its surrounding cities. Very comfortable and private beds, wifi always works, beautiful terrace and you can catch a hot shower if you choose you days right. The staff are very caring and will answer any questions you have about the area and its works. They always help if you ask for it. Rami makes amazing hot dinners (Only for 5$!!!!) each night for people to come together and eat, talk, laugh(especially...
Great hostel, even better atmosphere. The host/volunteers went the extra mile to make it lively and welcoming. Overall, a great experience—highly recommended for solo travellers.
Stayed two weeks and had a blast! Lorde is kind and helpful, and Rami absolutely made my stay. Under a thick layer of humour is someone who really cares about the space and people around him, with great reflections to share about personal life and Lebanon. Do the dishes and get involved in the nightly $5 dinner that he hosts - delicious and a great way to make friends! Private + comfy beds, market and man’oushe around the corner, and easy minibus access. Sometimes hot water. Great terrace!
