Itaca Hostel

I stayed there in September 2015. They Had bed bugs in their bes is and they tried to gaslight me that I broyght bedbugs with me. I wrote it because now I still have bedbugs because I stayed at the hostel!!!! You guys I dont know what to you!! stay away

Stayed here for 3 nights the first night I informed the staff there was a bed bug on my bed he disregarded anything I was saying then the next night when my friend arrived she also found them on her bed we told the staff and they said it’s impossible then later on said they would clean our beds we then came back that night and found another on our bed.

Beware of bedbugs! I got bitten every night and just hope that I'm not bringing them home. Other than that a really good hostel with a well-equipped kitchen, nice vibe, helpful staff, clean facilities (except for the infested beds) and a very central location. I really hope they get the bedbug-situation in hand.

Water leakage: Overall a good experience with one complaint about the property itself. Due to water leaks in the roof of my room (Red) the ceiling plates were crumbling and falling down in the middle of the night, which left a huge mess of water. Staff were flexible in handling this situation, but I did not sleep easily that night. I do not know if the roof has been fixed now. Perfect location for exploring the Gothic area of the city, nice communal activities and knowledgeable staff who activel...

VERY BAD STAY!!! No air conditioner at 35c in a small room of 10 people, to get at night in the hostel you have to wait each time for someone to open you ( asleep..), no social atmosphere this hostel is not for solo traveler ... One guy of staff was unlovely and ask us impolitely with my freind dont to talk in the kitchen cause there are guest sleeping although we was quiet . It a pitty cause the rest of the staff was great.. maybe my worst experience in a hostel .

Nice little hostel in the heart of the city. Perfect location.

It was pretty loud as the rooms are just in the hallway to the kitchen and common space. Also the staff came in at 11 p.m. when I was already asleep, showing a new guest his bed, explaining things very loudly. Seemed like she did not care at all and didn't consider being a bit more quiet at that time of the day. That was upsetting.

To be fair this hostel wasn't all bad, the staff were absolutely lovely and I couldn't say a bad work about them. My only flaws was that none of the customers locked the room doors so any other guests could waltz into your room. The atmosphere was also strange, no one really spoke to eachother and it was hard to meet people. Some of the guests in my room were so inconsiderate too, dropping things at 3am and laughing

Super friendly staff, lovely facilities and the hostel is in a fab location. Unfortunately, I couldn’t rate the hostel highly on cleanliness as I got several bed bug bites while staying there.

I can’t recommend Itaca Hostel enough. Beds are comfortable and have privacy curtains. The rooms are quite spacious, didn’t feel cramped. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. There are daily events organised by the hostel which were a really nice way to meet other travellers. This definitely isn’t a party hostel, but it is very sociable, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I’ll definitely be returning.

I stayed the hostel 6 nights / 7 days to visit Barcelona and surroudings. It was really suitable to start early in the mornings, have a lunch in hotel in the afternoon and visit then different shows and stay in the City until late night. Staff was always very friendly and everybody was smiling. The kitchen was clean; hot coffee was waiting and there were also basic spices to prepare more complex dishes. There is so much to experience in Barcelona; so I am planning to stay in Itaca more.

Très bien accueillies, auberge propre et calme, literie confortable et personnel très agréable. Je recommande!

Simply the best hostel in Barcelona and better than any of the ones I stayed in France, as well. I met the owner and she goes to great lengths to make the environment like a family home. There are events and tours and community shared meals, very wholesome. As a trans person, hostels are very challenging, but Gabriella helped me check in and made me feel comfortable to use the facilities that I prefer and feel safe in. I am so grateful to have found this gem and will return. Love u Itaca �...

The staff here were the best I've come across in all my travels - so friendly and welcoming, I ended up becoming friends with a lot of them! Location couldn't be better, so much to do and eat around, and the hostel is clean and homely. The only thing I'd say could be improved is that not all the beds have privacy curtains. I was lucky to have one, but I think it would be a nice addition for all guests to have by default.

Ich hab mich rundum wohl gefühlt im Itaca Hostel! Ich war alleine unterwegs und war von Anfang sehr gut aufgehoben in dieser familiären Atmosphäre. Tolle Küche mit kleinen Balkons, entspannte Wohnzimmer Räume, sehr saubere Bäder und Schlafzimmer. Ich bin auch Fan von den Vorhänge die es in meinem Zimmer vor jedem Bett gab und echt alles an Licht abgedunkelt haben. Alle Mitarbeiter im Hostel helfen einem super gerne weiter und sind sehr lieb! Ich komme gerne wieder!!!🌸

Loved my time here. They have a great location, nice common spaces and all 3 front desk staff I interacted with were so kind and pleasant.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations or any questions I had. The atmosphere was relaxed and social, making it easy to meet other travelers while still having space to unwind. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a good night’s rest. I also appreciated the common areas—they were cozy and perfect for hanging out, working.

Absolutely loved this hostel! Everything was perfect — from the cleanliness to the welcoming staff. The vibe is very social and fun, making it easy to meet new people. The facilities are well-maintained and the location is ideal. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. 100% recommended

The hostel was nicely decorated, great location and very clean. I would stay again. Not all the beds have curtains - the pictures make it look like they do. Also the central stairs access and bedroom doors are all left unlocked, so anyone can walk into any of the rooms if they are in the hostel. The main front door is locked and does have a member of staff at the desk at all times. There was no atmosphere and it was really quiet, so it was harder to meet people if you’re travelling solo.

I stayed for 2 nights and everything was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms and dorms, nothing to complain about. You meet cool people, you have your privacy thanks to curtains on the beds and as a girl on her own it was totally fine staying in the mixed room. They also offer lots of cool activities for socializing and exploring the city. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. Thank you :))

Great place and people were super friendly. Only thing that I didn’t realize (could have been my fault) was that the showers were communal with everyone in the hostel and I was wishing I had my shower shoes.

The place is in a great location, its interior is very cutely organized and decorated, there's a nice kitchen with free coffee and tea, a living room where to hang out. But staff can be unfriendly if you're not feeling happy

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. It was incredibly clean and had events that were exciting to me! Very welcoming!! The staff is super kind and helpful. It’s also in the middle of the gothic quarter, a fantastic location with easy access to other areas of the city by metro as well.
