Namba Guesthouse HIVE

I stayed at many hostels over a month in Japan, and this was the only one I had to leave early. The bed was so thin and uncomfortable that I barely slept and my back was killing me the next day.(I am not a large man, and had no issues at any other hostels in Japan) I booked elsewhere and just ate the cost of the next night here. That being said, the staff is super super friendly and helpful, and everything is very clean. I would not recommend this to anybody who needs to sleep.

Low stars because the exit sign was right above my head in the dorm and kept me up all night because of the bright light. The hostel was actually nice but bad experience from the lack of sleep.

I can not understand how it could be possible to have 26 beds with only 2 bathrooms/showes. For sure when I took my bath, the shower was dirty, with hair form other guest

Verschrikkelijk hostel, airco hele nacht op je hoofd. Vervolgens zeg je er is van de volgende ochtend. Gaat de kerel achter de balie je uitschelden

Although the overall experience was decent and the location is good. My stay at namba was tainted when they gave away our private room to another party. And even though we had booked months in advance, they weren't able to let us know until we arrived to check in. Had we known earlier, we would've booked somewhere else. The staff tried to accommodate afterwards with a discounted mixed dorm bed, but it already disrupted our trip.

It was ok. 5th floor was SUPER humid and it wasn't weather related because it was in October, I think the showers don't have great ventilation and the humidity stays in the building. Doesn't help that the room is basically one long hallway so there isn't good airflow/ventilation in their either. Osaka was sort of boring anyway and I left early to go to Hakone instead.

I was initially excited to stay at the hostel, but my enthusiasm quickly disappeared upon arrival. Unfortunately, the common room is infested with fruit flies and lacks a social atmosphere, often being empty. However, the most disappointing aspect of my experience was the behavior of Ryota, who works at the front desk. I found him to be exceptionally rude and unpleasant. I would strongly advise against staying at this hostel, primarily due to Ryota's unacceptable behavior

The staff, security & location were the best part of this hostel. The worst part was the bed situation itself. Our beds were closest to the bathrooms & sink so the noise, smell & lights were consistently a bother throughout the night. Even with the curtains, I had to turn off the lights from the sink area multip times during the night. This wasn't the hostels fault but some people were talking loudly in the dorm area both nights as well. It may help to have a sign to turn off sink area lights.

Overall, a pretty average experience. The girl who checked us in was polite but seemed like she had no energy or enthusiasm for her job. It was a bit robotic like and not the typical friendly welcome you would expect at a hostel. The 22 bed dorm set up was pretty good, the bathrooms/showers always seemed clean so that was great but the smell in the room was absolutely awful. We ended up leaving after our first night so wouldn’t recommend!

Hostel très bien placé. Le staff est sympa. Sinon les lits sont pas hyper confortable. Le dortoir mériterait un rafraîchissement. Option correcte pour 1 ou 2 nuits, pas plus.

A very convenient and comfortable hostel in a great location. The elevator and proximity to the subway made it very easy to get around. The facilities were good however there is not much space in the dorms for belongings so it easily gets very messy

Lovely hostel on top of the station so very easy to get to places. Staff were welcoming and happy to give recommendations. Beds were comfortable and each had a large locker

Loved my stay here. Tried to book for another night but they were full! Great staff and met so many good people

An excellent place to stay at and very close to lots of attractions. Very easy to do a day trip to Nara and Kyoto and both places are only 40 or 50 minutes away by train. But make sure you get the limited stops express trains otherwise you stop at 30 stops instead of 8 then it takes twice as long. Hostel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Nice hostel, very clean, right above a metro station and not far from Namba! I had a good time and met people! Each dorm has several toilets and showers and even though we were 20+ it didn’t feel like it! The staff was super nice

Just smells like wet towels. AC is not strong. They would be better off giving out towels for free each day like other hostels I’ve been to in Japan. It would clear the smell and make everything better. Staff was amazing though!

Just stay with a friend, it was good. Staff were great! beds, toilets, showers were clean didn’t have to worry about that. Adequate locker space. Perfect location walking distance to Dontonburi. Would really recommend!

Prima slaapzalen, fijne bedden en goeie nette douches. Letterlijk boven de metro, waardoor je snel genoeg alle kanten op kan in Osaka!

Our first stay in Osaka and it was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful staff, nice facilities (toilets and showers) and comfortable beds. I especially enjoy the spacious storage lockers that are available. Highly recommend! Located directly above 1-B Exit of Ebisucho Station.

It was nice the bed was the comfiest bed I’ve stayed in at a hostel. Only downside was there was no atmosphere at all

Absolutely love this place, directly attached to the train station via elevator and it’s such a chill vibe in the common room

Decent hostel but it smelled a bit odd. I think the dorm is so large that’s an inevitability. The bathrooms were clean though. Overall it’s fine. Remarkably quiet for such a large dorm
