Nice location. Nice place. Great view. But one of the volunteers bothers me when she's an alcoholic with racist comments. I asked her to stop and it didn't work. The next day she stopped.

14 euro per night. It's party downstairs so I can't sleep till 2:30 am.

This hostel was lovely, they gave us lots of information about things to do and we're all really friendly. The family dinners are lovely and it's a great vibe, it's very easy to find people to hike with. My only criticism is that the top bunks don't have anywhere to put your things (glasses, phones etc) which can make them tricky.

Awesome hostel with a super social atmosphere. Staff are knowledgeable, easy to talk to and are willing to go out of their way to help. Facilities were consistently clean regardless of time of day, and the location is super convenient for hiking (and so beautiful!). Would 100% recommend staying here, can’t wait to come back!

Great atmosphere and views, easy bus transport to a number of interesting locations. A little bit noisy with people talking in the lounge room until late at night, churchbells right outside and roosters crowing outside a lot, but I was OK with headphones. Unfortunately, the manager offered me a lift from the nearby treetop walk because I had a knee problem and couldn't walk downhill to the bus, but he then forgot about me and went out hiking without telling me he was leaving. I was forced to can...

Great hostel with an awesome social vibe, since there’s not too many people staying there everyone becomes your friends instantly. Hikes were super beautiful too!!!

I dont usually go back to the same place, but I hope to go back to this hostel sometime soon! was definitely one of my favorites

amazing beautiful place, the location in the mountains is just perfect, it's a really cosy house with lovely people and the cutest dog in the world! i would always come back here to hike and enjoy the views or just chill and rest. amazing staff as well. really recommended!!! :)

This hostel is something special.It's feels like one big family. We where all together hiking and swimming in the river in the daytime and eating drinking an watching stars in the night. Truly a one in a life time experience ❤️🌍🔥

Fabi and the vollie squad were stellar! So close to so many hikes, also just a wonderful place to take it slow. Fabi has also made a detailed guide with all to know about the town, what hikes to do, which as a beginner made me feel way less intimidated. Super clean, super safe, super friendly and also super cute pets hanging about!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in, such a good social vibe, staff were friendly and helpful, the location is so scenic and a great access point for a ton of hikes

Amazing hostel! Absolutely loved it super sweet and respectful volunteers, 10/10 location and incredible place to hike and relax. Love it, plus they have the cutest dog 🙂‍↕️❤️‍🩹😭💖

Loved this hostel! Staff and volunteers were amazing, welcoming, helpful, fun. Great rooms and facilites, amazing location with scenic views, and lots of great local hikes to do. Will 100% return in the future. Big up Ginger Monkey :)

Perfect experience. Only thing I’ll say is that if you’re stuck there with a couple of abrasive folks, you’re stuck. Killed the vibe in a couple of hangs, notably when alcohol was involved. Depends on who you are and who your vacation mates are. But altogether excellent getaway from the cities of Europe, and by all means accessible. Great job, Ginger Monkey! Keep it up.

Once you stay at ginger monkey, no other hostel will match it. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help guide you through the town and give advice for the day. Special shoutout to Cranjis the volunteer from Lithuania for giving me great advice for my upcoming Baltics trip!

The Ginger Monkey has been my favorite hostel so far!!! It is very social, without being a party hostel. Staff goes out of their way to make guests feel welcomed, and even provided a guide of things to do in the area. The guide made it so easy to get around. It is very clean. They also have pets! A really wonderful community vibe :)

This is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! The atmosphere is unique. It feels like you're living in a mountain chalet with friends. You start the day with a free breakfast, then go on one of the beautiful hikes suggested by the hostel. You finish the day with a cozy evening when you eat with everyone at the hostel and chat. The place itself is very comfortable, and the view is breathtaking! I highly recommend it!

Easily one of the best hostels you'll ever visit. Gorgeous mountain surroundings and amazing views right from the door step - but most importantly, some of the most friendly staff and volunteers who create an super social atmosphere. From someone who has stayed and volunteered in dozens: don't think, just go. You won't regret it.

Breakfast in the morning, family dinner at night, good recommendations for hikes, gear to borrow, clean bathrooms, mountain views from the rooms, nice atmosphere, amazing volunteers and the list goes on! Would come back 100%

Amazing hostel, amazing vibes, amazing people. The location is great, surrounded by mountains. Perfect for skiing or hiking. Free breakfast and 5€ vegan dinner. Very nice rooms and comfy beds.
